Adoption in Our Lives

Our Family

Adoption has had the most positive impact on our family and has allowed us to become parents. The adoption of our daughter is the greatest gift that we have ever received. Words cannot describe how grateful we are for our daughter's birth family and how blessed we feel that they chose us to be Charlie's parents.

We were able to meet our daughter's birth mother prior to Charlie being born. It meant so much to us to be included in her birth and hospital experience, as well. We continue to send pictures and letters and keep a special album for Charlie that includes all of these updates.

We share Charlie's adoption story with her through storybooks about adoption, as well as our photo/letter album. We want her to know how special her birth family is and how much respect we have for their love and courage.

We are beyond excited to grow our family through adoption again and praying for the day that we see Charlie become a big sister.

Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other

Thanksgiving With Family

Lyndsey About Scott: Scott is such a wonderful father! He is so involved with our daughter and is the dad that Charlie can depend on, always. I love Scott's sense of humor and his ability to make situations lighter and more fun. I admire his adventurous side and ability to want to try new things. The way he interacts with children puts a smile on my face. Whether it is piggy back rides, nerf gun battles, or outdoor activities with our nieces and nephews or reading storybooks and coloring with our daughter, Scott is always involved. I adore that he loves animals. He is so sweet with our dogs and cat and enjoys spoiling them with lots of treats and affection. Scott is a giver. He likes to see a difference made in the lives of others and is involved in local children's charities.

Scott About Lyndsey: Lyndsey is an amazing mother to Charlie! She has such a big heart and always puts the needs of others before her own. Lyndsey's strong faith and ability to stay positive are admirable traits. She is devoted to being a stay-at-home mom. Lyndsey loves crafting and teaching Charlie new things. Reading story books and playing outside are favorite daily activities. I love that Lyndsey cares about animals and that we enjoy the same hobbies. I admire that she is a hard-worker and determined. She also serves in our church nursery and knows the importance of children feeling loved at all times.

Our Leisure Time

Celebrating Autumn By Our Pond

We love the outdoors! Scott is an advanced scuba diver and has been on amazing dive trips throughout his life, including the Galapagos Islands. He also loves doing projects to help maintain our property. Scott enjoys hunting and fishing and looks forward to teaching our daughter these hobbies.

Lyndsey also loves being active outdoors. She enjoys planting flowers and gardening, as well as walking our dogs and crafting. We have a passion for nature and love spending time with family and friends.

We love the different seasons and really enjoy all of the activities that our home has to offer. Springtime is hunting morel mushrooms and listening to the frogs by our pond. Summer means long playdays with our daughter, fishing, and ice cream dates with our friends. Fall brings cooler evenings by our firepit and picking just the right pumpkins for our porch. Winter is nestling by the fireplace and watching movies, happy family holidays, and sledding in the snow. We look forward to expanding our family and sharing our lives with this child.

Traveling is also one of our favorite activities and we look forward to going to new destinations with Charlie and a future child. Whether it's the mountains or the beach, we are always up for adventure!

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We love where we live! We have 20 acres with a large stocked pond. It is so much fun to catch fish on our property. We have lots of wildlife where we live, too. We see deer and turkey frequently as well as ducks and geese on our pond. Whether it's a day filled with fishing, catching frogs and crawdads or playing in the stream; we have a great time! Our dogs, Moose and Stormy, have many outdoor adventures. Charlie loves watching them play!

We have neighbors nearby and they are all wonderful people. We feel safe where we live and know that they are there for us when needed. They are active people that enjoy the outdoors, just like us. We love visiting with friends and family, riding our side-by-side, and enjoying daily walks to see the cows that live down our lane.

We feel blessed to live in the Midwest where family is a focus. Living in a rural area where we can be submersed in nature is ideal. It is also nice just being 10 minutes from the city where we can get everything we need. Many parks, a zoo, shopping and restaurants all within 30 minutes of us. Major lakes are within an hour and many rivers are just minutes from our home. The school system where we live is highly rated and is large enough to offer many opportunities and activities.

Our Extended Families

Lyndsey's Family Luau

We come from close families who are very loving and supportive. Both of our parents are looking forward to welcoming another grandchild. We love being Aunt and Uncle to our 10 nieces and nephews and are involved in their lives. They are so sweet to Charlie and she enjoys playtime with her cousins! We are blessed to travel often with family and look forward to future adventures with another child. Outdoor activities at our home and trips to the beach are extra special.

Hiking in New Zealand With Scott's Family

We love spending holidays with our families and each have special traditions. White elephant or "Grab Bag" gifting at Christmas is always a fun time. Biscuits and chocolate gravy on Christmas morning is another favorite tradition. The 4th of July is a big celebration of grilling and watching an amazing fireworks show near our home. We are excited to share all of these experiences with this child.

Lyndsey has one brother and Scott has two sisters. All of our siblings are raising young families, so the opportunity for a child to be close to cousins is wonderful. Living near family and friends gives us lots of special time together.

Everyone is so excited to see our family grow and fully support our adoption plan. They cannot wait to be part of this child's life!

From Us to You

Words cannot fully express how grateful we are that you are considering adoption. We can't imagine how you must be feeling, but we admire your strength and courage. "God doesn't give the hardest battles to his toughest soldiers, he creates the toughest soldiers through life's hardest battles."

We met over eleven years ago on a blind date and have been married since 2012. Our relationship is based on love and understanding. We can honestly say that we are great friends! Lyndsey loves that Scott is calm and steady, but also the funny one. Scott loves that Lyndsey is sweet and patient, but also has an adventurous side. We both have fond childhood memories and come from stable, supportive families. Growing up loving the outdoors is a passion that we share with our daughter and will continue to be enjoyed with this child.

We have been able to travel to many different places. New Zealand, Costa Rica, and the Caribbean being a few of our favorites. Our heart for adventure and experiencing different cultures is longing to be enjoyed with your child. Lyndsey has dreams to be more involved with mission work and Scott has a heart for giving. It feels good to help others and to make a difference.

We have strong values and believe in the importance of raising a child in church and teaching them of God's love. We will always have unconditional love for your child and will provide a safe, stable home. Emotional and financial support will allow the pursuit of dreams.

Lyndsey is a Registered Nurse and worked in Orthopedics for nine years. Although she misses her patients and co-workers, she loves being a stay-at-home mom. We feel blessed that Lyndsey can stay home and focus on family. Lyndsey is maternal and nurturing. She loves being a mother and feels that her compassionate heart will help her raise children to respect and love others.

Scott is a Property Manager and enjoys working with members of his family. He worked for the family business in window manufacturing for over 10 years before landing in his current role. Scott is a hard-worker and has so many great life skills. He enjoys wood-working projects and anything outdoors. Scott enjoys teaching our daughter new things and looks forward to seeing her become a big sister. He will be the dad at the t-ball games or dance recitals. He will be there to teach them how to hunt safely and will help them catch their first fish. Scott will be involved, every step of the way.

Our hearts, families, and community are ready to provide a life full of love, devotion, education, and wonder to your child. We will send pictures and letters that will provide updates and mark milestones. We are also open to e-mail exchange and phone calls, if desired. We are humbled that you would consider us as parents for your child and will be praying for you and your decision.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,

Scott & Lyndsey
