We have so much love to share for this child, and we know we will do our best to be loving parents. To be chosen as your child's parents would be the best thing that has ever happened to us. We look forward to the life long journey ahead.

Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other

Paula About David: David is truly my best friend in life. He is a wonderful husband and partner. David has a big heart, and is very generous with his time with his family and friends. David is also very fun-loving and he likes to have a good time. He also enjoys making people laugh with his humor and practical jokes. David has always been very supportive in my education and career. I have no doubt in my mind David would make a fun-loving, supportive, and wonderful father.
David About Paula: Paula is an amazing person. She encourages me to be the best version of myself. She is strong, intelligent, and determined. One of Paula's best qualities is encouraging people when they need it the most, and helping them see the beauty and power they possess inside. I think she would be a great role model for any young child. I also think she is very beautiful. There is no other person I would want to be with for my life journey, and I look forward to watching her become a wonderful mother.
Our Pets

Our dogs are one of the most important parts of our family. We have 2 dogs, and most people would say we spoil our dogs. Clinton is a very loyal 16-year-old harrier hound whose nose gets him into trouble. The baby of the family is Poppy who is an 11-month-old mini goldendoodle who knows she can get away with anything. Our pets accompany us on family vacations. We take our dogs on hiking adventures on the weekend. Our mini goldendoodle loves to go to the dog beaches on the weekends. Our pets are incorporated in every part of our daily lives. Most importantly, they give us unconditional love and joy. Poppy will be a great companion for our child as they grow up together because she is a very fun and loving dog. We also have celebrated our dogs birthdays with homemade doggie cakes that Paula bakes at home. Paula also makes them homemade biscuits and doggie popsicles.

Our House and Neighborhood

We live in San Diego, California and have access to beautiful weather year-round.
Our home has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 sunroom, and a large backyard that sits on a hilltop overlooking other homes and Mission Valley. We share our home with 2 loving spoiled dogs.

We live in a quiet and peaceful community with several large parks nearby. There are plenty of play areas and open grassy areas for children. We live within 15 minutes to the world-famous San Diego Zoo, numerous museums, SeaWorld, and beautiful beaches.
There are a lot of children in our community. The new city park is always filled with kids playing on the playground. Every weekend the park is filled with families celebrating children's birthdays. Any outdoor sport a child can participate in is available in San Diego as there is a great diversity of things to do here. There is a new elementary school opening in Fall of 2022 that is 5 minutes from our home.
Our Extended Families

We both have relatively small families. David has two sisters who are both married with children and live locally in San Diego. Our nieces and nephews range in age from 19 years old to 16 months. David's parents live within 5 minutes from our home.

Paula has a brother who is married with a 16-month-old baby. Paula's brother and parents all live in Phoenix, AZ. We travel to Arizona at least once or twice a year to visit Paula's family, and they also visit us in San Diego.
We typically spend Thanksgiving with Paula's family and celebrate Christmas with David's family. We have a yearly family White Elephant gift exchange, and usually select a new board game to play with the family on Christmas. David's family cooks traditional Vietnamese foods, so we are able to enjoy this cuisine throughout the year.
From Us to You
We want to thank you for taking the time to read our letter and look through our profile. We have been married for 17 years and have a very loving and supportive relationship. We hope to share the love that we have for each and pour it into raising a child.
Our family is unique in that it is a blend of different cultures. David was born in Vietnam and immigrated to the United States when he was 2 years old. David's family maintains their culture through food, traditions, and language. Paula is multicultural and is Korean, Mexican, and Irish. We have a unique mix of celebrating the Vietnamese, Mexican, and Korean cultures through food and traditions. We plan to share our cultures with a child and also look forward to incorporating the culture of our future child into our family.
We met in college while Paula was pursuing her undergraduate degree and David was pursuing his master's degree. We were invited to a game night at a friend's house. We were playing Trivial Pursuit and teamed up in pairs. We were not on the same team, but David could tell Paula really wanted to win. We do not remember who won, but it wasn't Paula's team. Paula left quite the impression on David. Later that December, a group of us decided to go to Disneyland. David was the driver and Paula volunteered to ride in front and keep him company. We talked the entire way there and back. We really got to know each other. David keeps a picture of us from that trip on his work desk. It was magic from that point on ... we have been together ever since.
We looked into adoption over 5 years ago in Arizona, but then we moved to San Diego, and we had an opportunity to be closer to our nieces and nephews. We have been able to see them grow up and be a part of their lives. We have chosen adoption because deep down in our hearts we had a sense that it would be our journey in life. In a way, we think adoption has chosen us too since we are unable to naturally have children without significant medical intervention. We have been on our current adoption journey for a little over 2 years now, and we are ready to become loving and caring parents to a child.
We have a strong belief in education and will instill the values of hard work, persistence, and doing your best in a child. We would like to travel to different parts of the world to expand on our child's education outside of the classroom. We will set up a college fund when the child is born and contribute to it annually. We also believe that real world experience is a critical part of education, so we will embrace giving back to the community through volunteering or other community activities.
We would love to share letters, emails, photos and texts with you, if that is something you would like.
Sincerely,
David & Paula
