What It Means to Become Parents

Exploring Colorado

We believe that successful marriages and families are built on faith, prayer, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, hard work, and making memories together. We believe that parents are responsible for creating a nurturing and safe environment for children to learn and grow. We will teach our children to love and serve one another, choose the right, and be law-abiding citizens wherever they live.

When we become parents, we plan to read books to our children every day. It is our hope that our children will love learning and exploring new ideas. Books are a great way to learn about imagination, empathy, compassion, and other important values. We already have a collection of children's books on a shelf!

We are also looking forward to going on adventures together as a family. Something that has always been important to us is creating memories and capturing them with photos, rather than spending money on objects. We imagine going on walks, hikes, trips across the country, and later, trips around the world. Learning about other cultures and languages is important to us, and we'd like our children to experience other cultures as we have. We have both lived internationally for several years. Adam speaks Korean, and Sage speaks French and Hungarian.

  • Adam loves Sage because she is kind, creative, passionate, witty, and adventurous. She always encourages him to be the best version of himself. He is so grateful to have such an amazing best friend.
  • Our Promise to You

Your child will also have the opportunity to learn about their roots and their heritage. We will teach correct principles and set safe boundaries to allow your child to make their own choices. Our family will always strive to be physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually healthy. Your child will be encouraged to live a life of kindness, respect, forgiveness, charity, and gratitude. We commit to enabling your child to become the best version of themselves. We will always honor and respect you, and we will always be grateful for you.

    Our House and Neighborhood

We Live in a Wonderful Community With Children All Along Our Street

Currently, we live in a three-bedroom home in a town in Missouri. Our neighborhood is full of young families with children who are always outside riding their bikes. There's a field just behind our house where kids like to run around and play together. We know most of our neighbors and often get together with our friends and their children.

Adam Loves Fishing at the Lakes Near Our Home

We live in a wonderful community with several recreational buildings and playgrounds around every corner. The nearest elementary school is the best in the county for quality education and diversity. Our community always has family-centered events to attend. Recently, we went to "Bark in the Park" with our dog, who won three of the contests!

We also like to go on walks together every evening. There are two nearby ponds where Adam likes to go fishing. Just five minutes from our house, there's a state park we like to explore. We plan to move to a larger home as our family grows. We're looking for something with a big backyard and lots of room for little ones to grow up and play.

    Our Extended Families

    Adam's Family

Everyone in our family is so excited for us to grow our family through adoption! A child will be welcomed and loved by all of our extended family and our little nephew will be so happy to have a cousin.

    Sage's Family

Both of us have always had a loving connection with our families. Adam is the second oldest of seven, with four brothers and two sisters. Sage is the oldest of five and the only girl. We love and trust our parents immensely. We make it a priority to see them and talk with them as often as possible. In the past few years, as we have kept in contact with our loved ones, our relationships have grown deeper than ever before.

Most of our extended family is split between Michigan and Utah. Adam's and Sage's families share many interests and hobbies such as playing board games, fishing, watching movies, serving others, and spending time with each other.

    From Us to You

We are truly grateful that you have taken the time to learn more about us and our family. Although we cannot imagine the emotions you are feeling, we believe you will make the right decision for your baby, whatever it may be.

Our story began several years ago. We met four months before we started dating, and were engaged just five weeks after that. In two short months, we planned a wedding and were married on May 5, 2018. Our story may seem crazy, but we knew we were right for each other very early on. One of the qualities that brought us together was our desire to be parents one day. Once we decided to get married, we were confident in our decision – it just felt right.

The same has been true for our decision to adopt. Two years ago, Adam felt the impression that we should consider adoption. Sage needed a bit more time, so we continued our ride on an emotional roller coaster. Whatever the sacrifice, we deeply desired a baby to love. As we waited, we felt prompted to prepare our home spiritually and make it a place of peace. Eventually, we got to the point where we could have continued with fertility treatments, but chose adoption instead.

When it's right, it's right, and you know it in your heart. We feel in our hearts that this is the right path for us, and we believe you will feel the same if we're the right family for you.

Everyone has challenges in life, and we wouldn't trade our personal challenges for anything. At the end of every day, we tell each other three things we were grateful for from that day. This tradition has helped us recognize how much we have been blessed with. It has allowed us to see that our trials have made us stronger and more prepared to welcome children into our home.

We recognize that you have faced your own set of challenges. We admire you willingness to consider adoption. We commit to give everything we have to your child to enable them to live their best life.

Your child will grow up knowing that they are so loved – by us, by our family, and by you. We'd love to send you letters and photos of your child throughout each year of their life. We want them to know who you are and to always honor you. As often as you are comfortable, we will reach out and keep in contact. We want you feel confident that your child is safe, happy, and loved unconditionally.

We truly hope that you will look back on this experience, knowing that because of your sacrifice, your child will be blessed beyond measure. We are eager to get to know you and would love to build a long-lasting relationship with you. You will always be a part of our family.

    Sincerely,

    Adam & Sage
