We come from a very culturally diverse family! Biljana is from Macedonia, Chris' family has Arabic heritage (his dad is from Palestine), Biljana's sister lives in Australia and her husband is from El Salvador.

Biljana was born in Macedonia and moved to the USA in 2004. Her whole family was born and raised in Macedonia and she was one of the first to move out. She has many friends that share her heritage and we get together to celebrate many of the traditional Macedonian holidays together. We also love to have our friends over and to prepare traditional dishes for them. We also visit Macedonia and Biljana's parents come to visit us in the USA. Every time that we get together, no matter the continent, we have a great time.

We enjoy participating and honoring our diverse backgrounds and we look forward to honoring our future child's heritage, as well. We are looking forward to learning about the customs and traditions that he or she will inherit from their family. We would love to reach out to the community that they belong to, celebrate holidays that they respect and learn about their culture and background.

We work hard, but we also enjoy spending time together. It is our priority to take some time off and go on a vacation or just a quick getaway for a few days.

We love to spend time together or meet with friends or family. Most of our friends have kids, so we are always flexible and we let them make plans so the whole family can be included.

Chris plays guitar and likes to read books. Biljana loves to cook, run (she just finished her second half marathon) and spend time talking online with her sister or friends that are not in the USA.

Together, we enjoy playing tennis and volleyball. We also love long walks in the local parks with our dog, Ziggy.

We are looking forward to becoming parents and to allow our child to develop in the direction that they are willing to. Some of the things that come to mind that we would like to share with our child are cooking, guitar playing, comic books, going swimming, playing hockey or even soccer.

Biljana's religion is Christian Orthodox and the holidays are a bit different than the American holidays. For example Christmas Eve is on January 6 and Christmas day is on January 7. Our Christmas dinner is lent so there is no meat or cheese. The dishes are vegetarian and the only meat is fish. Another tradition on Christmas Eve is that we bake a small loaf of bread with a coin in it and break it and each guest gets a piece of bread. The one that gets the coin is considered to have great luck in the upcoming year. We enjoy practicing our traditional Christmas and Chris has been a part of it since the year we started dating.

Other holidays that we enjoy to celebrate with family are Thanksgiving and 4th of July. On Thanksgiving we cook and have Chris' family over. On 4th of July we either grill and have friends over or we go to a nearby town that has nice concerts and fireworks at night.

We live in a nice, quiet and very family friendly community. Many of our neighbors have children of all ages. When taking a walk in the neighborhood you can see people walking with strollers and people going to meet their kids that are being dropped off by the school bus. We also have several preschools and daycare centers very close to where we live and there is a elementary school that is within a few minutes walking from our house.

Throughout the year there are many family friendly festivals and activities in our area. Our area is very multicultural so there are many family friendly fests that are honoring Hispanic or Filipino heritage.

Some of the other family friendly events that occur are Week of the Young Child, where families can go and enjoy fun interactive activities. Other fun events would be story time at the museum and international festival of cultures. We also have a nice kid-friendly pool in the neighborhood and several parks with playgrounds within walking distance.

We live in a two-floor townhouse that has a kitchen, living room, three bathrooms, two bedrooms and a finished basement. We have a back yard where we relax in the summer and spend a lot of time at.

Our family on both sides are very excited to learn that we are hoping to extend our family with a child.

Chris' close family consists of his mom Val, his brother Candido with his wife Kiki and their daughter Tamara. Chris' brother also has a son from a previous relationship named Kaiden. We see Chris's family many times throughout the year. When we get together we like to cook good food, watch movies together and get to catch up on things that have been going on in our lives. The family also has a tradition when we get together for Christmas but this occurs in October so the family calls it Christmas in October. This gathering consists of Chris' mom and her sisters and their kids and significant others. We bring good food, go over pictures and get to follow up on what has been going on in our lives. We love seeing the family and look forward to it every year.

Biljana's close family consists of mom Danica, dad Stojce and sister Katerina. Katerina has three children Dalina (17 years), Michael (3 years) and Amon (1½ old) and her husband Vladimir. Katerina moved to Australia in 2005. Biljana's parents live in Macedonia and try to spend time with both daughters as much as possible. They host us over in Macedonia, come to the USA and also go to Australia.

We met on a night out in the summer of 2006. The connection was strong from the beginning, as we have many things in common. On our first date we had many stories to share and through our life together we got to experience and meet all the people that we discussed. On July 17 every year (the anniversary of our first date), we try to have a date night and go over how far we have come as a couple.

It is very hard to write a letter for someone that you have never met, but you know that you will care about them for your whole life. This individual is special and can give you an opportunity that nothing else in life will come close to. This individual is so strong that no matter how many strong people we will meet in our life no one will be able to outdo her strength. This individual already has a special place in our hearts because she is considering us for a special role in her child's life.

Our child will hear about his/her mother from day one and will not have to remember the day that they found out that they were adopted. Adoption will be a natural part of our life and our child's life.

The responsibilities of adoptive parents are different from most other people that just become parents. In this case we not only gain a child but we also gain a whole new family that will be a big part of our life.

In our journey as parents we hope to share our experiences with you through letters, pictures and visits.

If we are fortunate enough to be chosen by you, then please know that your child will be cared for, loved endlessly, and will know your great courage and love in making this decision.

We are aware that the path that you are on is a hard one but we also know that your decision comes from a place of love. Please know that there are two strangers that have covered you with prayers and loving thoughts and are looking forward to meeting you and your little one.
