Hector & Jenny
We are excited to adopt! We hope to give you peace of mind that your child will be in a safe and stable environment and given tons of love. We will provide the child with as many opportunities as we can so that the child may thrive and flourish. We appreciate you taking the time to look at our profile and hope you will consider us.
Our Cultural Heritage

Our cultural heritage is mixed. Hector is Mexican. He was born in Mexico and came to the United States when he was seven. He comes from a large family. At our wedding we had Mariachi music and Hector wore traditional Mexican clothing. He and his mom performed traditional Mexican dances and we served Mexican food. At Christmas time we eat tamales, bunuelos, pozole, and ponche. On Three King's Day, on January 6th, we get together and cut the King's cake to see who gets the baby Jesus. On February 12th, the person who gets the baby Jesus has to serve tamales to everyone else.

Jenny has several cultures from her parents. Her dad is from Iran, so we celebrate Persian New Year and eat Persian food. Her mother is a mixture of European cultures, mostly English, German, and Irish. We like to have high and low tea from Britain, celebrate Oktoberfest, and St Patrick's day. At our wedding, we served Persian food, and had some of the traditions of a Persian wedding incorporated into the ceremony like sharing honey to make the marriage sweet and the mothers of the bride and groom sewing together a cloth to represent the union of the two families. At Christmas time we eat pfeffernusse, stollen, and plum pudding.
Since we live in the Bay Area, we also celebrate other cultures. Our first date was to a Chinese New Year's celebration. We look forward to sharing these experiences with a child!
Leisure Time

We met dancing and it is one of our favorite activities. We have learned Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Quickstep, Salsa, Cha Cha, Merengue, Paso Doble, and Jive. We are on a few dance performance teams with our most recent performance being a Hustle Rumba 70s dance. Our favorite dance is Swing, but we recently also started Brazilian Samba which is also fun. Jenny takes piano and violin lessons, and Hector plays the guitar.
Hector loves mountain biking and goes most Sundays with his cousins. Jenny also likes riding a bicycle but on easier terrain. Jenny is a swimmer and swims laps to exercise and de-stress. Hector also swims but not the same distance or intensity.
We have volunteered together for Habitat for Humanity, helping build/fix houses for families in need. We have also picked up litter on our city clean-up day. Jenny also has volunteered with S.N.A.P. which stands for Special Needs Aquatics Program. It's for children with physical and/or mental challenges.
We are in a trivia group and Jenny is in a book club. Hector reads before he goes to sleep at night. We look forward to reading with our children.
We also like watching TV and movies, playing pool/bowling, game night, camping, and singing Karaoke.
We plan to expose our children to lots of different activities so they can find what interests them.
Our Pets

Pets are important to us because they provide companionship, unconditional love, and constant entertainment.
We know pets teach responsibility because when you adopt one you are obligated to make sure they are cared for. They help us to get to know our neighbors and we always have something we can enjoy talking about with other pet owners. They can also teach patience as they all have their own personalities and moods, as they can sometimes be annoying like when they want to wake up and be fed and you want to sleep more.
Jenny already had Mona the Chihuahua, but on the same day in July 2019, Hector came home with Luna the Husky and Jenny came home with Elsie the Cat. Luna is gentle and will be a great companion for a child. And if you ever need a cuddle, Mona and Elsie are more than happy to provide. Our animals provide us with so much joy and we can't wait to add a child to our little family!

Our House and Neighborhood

We live in a suburb of California near San Francisco. Our neighborhood is multi-ethnic, and we live on a court so there is no fast traffic speeding by our home. We walk our dogs around our neighborhood frequently and have friendly neighbors.
We have a ranch-style house with 3 bedrooms and 1 and half baths. We have a front yard and a backyard. We have 2 dogs (a Chihuahua and a Husky) and a cat. We are close enough to the big city for entertainment but live in a quiet community with several parks nearby.
We plan to send our child to a bilingual Montessori school so that he or she can learn Spanish. It is a real asset to be bilingual in California and we know that children can learn quickly when they are young.
Our Extended Families

Jenny comes from a small family. Her parents live 4 minutes away and her brother lives in New York. Jenny and her mother enjoy theater and have been involved in community theater acting, directing, set building, lighting, etc. They also frequently attend shows around the Bay area. Jenny and her father enjoy playing pool (billiards) together and watching movies. When Nick, her brother visits we enjoy family game night, eating out, and karaoke.

Hector comes from a large family with 6 siblings who all live close by. His dad died last year, but his mother lives about 10 minutes away. Hector goes biking with his cousins most weekends and visits family in Mexico when he can. With numerous aunts and uncles and lots of cousins, the parties are epic!
We celebrate the usual holidays like Christmas and Easter as well as numerous others like eating corned beef and cabbage on St. Patrick's day and Chinese food during Chinese New Year's. We also celebrate Persian New Year which is in the Spring and predates Islam.
Both our families fully support our desire to adopt and are so excited to meet the newest family member!
From Us to You
We do not know what your circumstances are, but we know that you are making a significant sacrifice for your child. We cannot imagine the range of emotions you must be feeling right now but we want to encourage you in taking responsibility for your child's future.
We will support this child financially and emotionally so that the child can grow to his or her full potential. We will ensure that you know that your child is well cared for and loved. We understand that the openness of the adoption is open to change as life circumstances change so we want to work with you as our relationship unfolds.
Hector was born in Mexico and came here when he was seven. He enjoys biking, playing the guitar and works as a Research Scientist where he helps prevent the spread of disease.
Jenny is a mix of Persian, German, English, and Irish. She enjoys swimming and playing the piano. She is an Occupational Therapist who goes to the homes of her patients to help them heal from accident or illness.
Hector About Jenny: Jenny is a person with a heart of gold. You will see her taking food and other essentials to the mission to feed the homeless. Jenny is a great baker and can make wonderful desserts. She is an entertainer and has been involved in theater and dance performances. Sometimes Jenny will start to dance at home when a good song comes on or she will dance like no one is watching always full of energy that seems to never end. She always makes me laugh. Jenny is also a great swimmer and was a lifeguard as well as a diver. When we go to the pool or the beach, I always feel safe because I know she will make sure I am safe since I am not a very good swimmer myself. It always impresses me how she can remember lines, songs, and details from every book she has read, every play she has been in and every movie she has seen. One of Jenny's favorite holidays is Halloween. She is a master at making costumes from scratch as well as using makeup. I can always count on Jenny to keep the house clean, organized and tidy she has good attention to details.
Jenny About Hector: When you first meet Hector, he can come off as shy, but if you get to know him then you will see his easy-going silly side. Hector is a hard worker. He works full time and then comes home to work on our house and garden. He has redone the bathrooms entirely from floor to ceiling. He's painted the whole interior of our house and redone floors. He has a gift when it comes to nurturing plants and grows food, flowers, and trees. He provides love to our pets and keeps them healthy and groomed. He has also helped at my parent's house as it has needed a lot of home and garden renovations too. Having said that, he also knows how to relax. We have a ton of fun and anything I suggest he's always open to trying. It took me a long time to find him, but it was worth the wait.
We have spent many years thinking about what is good for children and have taken classes on healthy growth and development. We have many hobbies that we do together. We work to have open communication to avoid conflict and misunderstandings. We both have extended family who live close by so that beyond the two of us the child will have a village of friends and family who will give the child a sense of community and belonging.
We hope you will take the time to consider us. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to us. We look forward to hearing from you.
