Jon & Maddie
Thank you so much for taking the time to look over our profile and get to know us better. We are so excited at the thought of meeting you and adding another sweet baby into our family. We cannot wait to snuggle them, change their diapers, teach them how to throw a football and blow kisses, and most importantly teach them how to love the Lord and follow His paths.
Adoption in Our Lives
We adopted our oldest son, Jordan. The day that he was born and his mother placed him into our arms she told us, "This is a lifetime gift." He truly is a lifetime gift, and getting to be his parents is one of the greatest joys and privileges of our life. We still text and Facetime with his birth mother, and she has become a friend and part of our family.
Jordan has one of the best giggles and loves to play outside, play with his trucks, and read books. He likes to give his little sister kisses and it has been so fun to see him take on the role of "older brother."
Poppy, our second child, was born in August 2021. She is the sweetest snuggly girl and loves a good peanut butter and jelly sandwich or tickle session. She thinks her older brother is hilarious and sports some pretty cute pig tails.
Our kids are the greatest joy of our life, and we are so incredibly blessed to be their parents. We can't wait to add another baby to our family.
Jon is a sales rep for a local company. He doesn't travel for work, which frees up so much time for him to spend with the family. When he gets home around 5:00 every day he likes to play with the kids and work in the garage and backyard. He spends some of his free time playing lots of sports. He is a great golfer, and also plays on a local basketball team in the winter and a local softball team in the summer. He also serves at our church taking care of the church building and leading a small group.
Maddie is a stay-at-home mom, taking care of the kids and keeping the house in order. In her free time she loves to read or bake, and she does some event planning on the side as well. Maddie also leads the women's ministry at our church and organizes events for that. She loves to go on walks with the kids to the park, work on home improvement projects around the house, and experiment with different baking techniques in her free time.
Having adopted our first born son, we know firsthand what it is like to have a child who is a different race than us.
We promise to teach your child that God created us all differently and loves each and every one of us equally in the way He made us.
We will also teach your child about where they came from and who they are. Without a deep understanding of their background, your baby will not be able to stand on the shoulders of those who came before them. That is something we know your child must be able to do, and so we promise to give them the building blocks needed to do it.
We live in a community where several of our friends have adopted children of different racial and ethnic backgrounds, and it is important to us to surround our son with friends and families who look like him and have similar backgrounds. We will do the same for your child.
Our House and Neighborhood
We live in a beautiful six-bedroom, four-bathroom home at the top of a hill in a neighborhood in town. A couple of blocks down the hill is a neighborhood park that Maddie takes Jordan and Poppy to frequently. Our home is large and perfect for entertaining our large families and groups of friends. Jordan and Poppy love to play on the back patio with their water table and kiddie pool. When the weather isn't warm enough for that, we are down in the basement playing in their playroom.
We love our community where we live. Jon works with some of his best friends, and Maddie has grown up with her closest friends who are still in town and having babies of their own. Jon is in charge of overseeing maintenance of our church building and Maddie leads the women's ministry there as well. Our town is perfect for raising children.
There is an amazing private school where we plan to send our kids once they are old enough, and they'll have many opportunities to play any number of sports - football, track, basketball, softball, volleyball, you name it.
Our Extended Families
Our families are the most important things in the world to us and we spend tons of time with them. Most of our family members live in the same town as we do, so we see some of our family almost every single day.
Jon is the youngest of seven siblings and has 28 nieces and nephews (and counting!). We usually get together with his family once a week to grab dinner or dessert together. We fly to Maryland every year to visit his parents, and our kids spend most of the time in their backyard pool and driving around their property on the golf cart. Every spring, Jon's family rents a large vacation home on the Oregon Coast and spends a week all together. We make meals together, spend time at the tide pools on the beach and play cards. Everyone is always sad to leave.
Maddie is the second of five siblings and has eight nieces and nephews (and counting!). The majority of Maddie's family also lives in town, and we have dinner with them twice a week. Maddie's family loves to take road trips and go camping. Maddie's mom, "Mimi" to her grandkids, makes amazing cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning every year and routinely stops by our house to say hello and play with Jordan and Poppy.
From Us to You
Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know us better. We cannot imagine how difficult this decision must be for you, and even though we don't know you personally yet, we have been praying for you as you walk down this road. Please know that we are so impressed by your bravery and your love for your baby and will always remind your baby how much you love and care for them.
We are so excited to welcome your baby into our life. After adopting our firstborn son and discovering how much we love and cherish him, we immediately knew that we wanted to adopt again. Seeing our extended family and friends love him as one of their own made us even more excited to do this again as well. Our community is a perfect spot to raise a baby and your baby would be surrounded on all sides with friends and family who love him or her more than they love themselves.
We cannot tell you how thrilled we are to meet you and your baby. We can't wait to snuggle with them, change their stinky diapers, teach them how to throw a football, make them birthday cakes, teach them how to blow kisses, support them, and love them with a love that cannot be measured. Most importantly, we are so excited to teach them how to love the Lord and follow His paths in all their ways.
We know that you love your baby so much, and we promise to always make sure that they know just how much you love them. We would be honored if you would like to be involved in your baby's life as they grow up. Whether this is via email, letters, us sending pictures to you, texts, or phone calls, we are open to communication throughout your baby's life so that you will always have a connection with them. We want your baby to know their background and where they come from, and this will play a significant role in your baby's life as we raise them.
Please know that we are praying for you as you make this decision. We are also praying for your baby, that they will be placed with a family who will give them all that you dream of. We would be honored if you chose us to be that family. We know that by God's grace we will love your baby beyond measure and provide them with a safe, supportive, and joyful home.
