Peter & Whitney

Adoption is a dream come true for our family. We are excited to raise this child in a loving and supportive home, where they can feel safe every night as they go to sleep and wake up excited for the spontaneous adventure that lies ahead for that day. We honor your bravery in making this decision and appreciate you considering us to be the adoptive parents.

Our Family Dream

Outdoor Exploring

We have both dreamed of having many children since we were kids. Peter is very much still a kid at heart and cannot wait to spend every day learning, teaching, and playing with our children. Whitney is excited to have a little sidekick to go shopping with, bake Christmas cookies, go on Easter egg hunts with, lounge in the pool with, and all the school projects. Peter is excited to coach sports teams, watch classic Disney movies, carve pumpkins, play Nintendo, watch school Christmas plays and eat all the Christmas cookies baked with Whitney.

As a family, we plan to explore and travel the world with our children. It is important that they are exposed to many different landscapes and cultures. Hopefully they will find out what they love most and choose that path forward to have a long life filled with doing what they enjoy. We both moved away from our hometown to be in an area that is filled with opportunities for us to enjoy our life being able to do things we love to do. Beautiful weather and over 300 days of sunshine annually allows us to be outdoors the majority of the year. We have a dream to travel to every National Park in the U.S. and hike the best mountains that we are capable of hiking.

Our Individual Strengths

Peter + Whitney

Peter is a doer. When Whitney has a home renovation idea, he is able to make it a reality and create it using his garage full of tools. Peter is self-motivated to be better every day. Whether that be in his career, as a husband, father, brother, son. Peter is still a child at heart so will inevitably become our child's best friend. Also understands the importance of providing valuable teaching moments throughout our child's life.

Whitney is like an energizer bunny. Doesn't require much sleep to still be productive the following day. She ensures our family eats healthy food (this includes our pets). She exercises daily to keep her mind and body sharp. She puts others first. She makes sure everyone around her is well taken care of. When family calls her with issues, she is quick to help provide advice on how they can flip their thinking to appreciate the good in each situation and not focus on the negative.

Our Pets

Whitney & Fred

We have a nine-year-old Persian cat named Jigs after Whitney's late Papa. We also have a three-year-old Bernedoodle named Fred. Our dog goes everywhere with us and has the most human-like personality. Fred loves playing with the kids in the neighborhood and wants every dog to be his friend.

Because we spend every day with them, we feel like they are genuinely a part of our family and are currently our only children at this point. If Whitney is ever having a bad day, we call Fred's name, which instantly puts a massive smile on her face. Whitney has been caught having conversations with each of our animals. Jigs loves to sit on our lap outside and listen to all the birds chirp while Fred runs around the yard chasing little lizards that are way too fast. Fred has a subscription to Bark Box and loves going to the mailbox each day to see if a new box has arrived for him. He will even carry the box in his mouth all the way home and gets super excited to see what new toys and treats have arrived. These animals are our everything and have helped us get through some challenging times in our infertility journey.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We live in a wonderful community in Texas. In our community, residents enjoy three swimming pools, a fitness center, a basketball court, a baseball field, a soccer field, two tennis courts, parks, playgrounds, picnic areas, natural springs and ponds for fishing, and miles of hike and bike trails. During the summer, there are food truck Fridays where the entire community is welcome. At Christmas time, they have pictures with Santa. On the Fourth of July, there is a neighborhood parade, and during the summer, all the kids love the ice cream trucks that circle our neighborhood.

We live in the newer section of our community; we built our home. Our neighborhood section is filled with children of all ages and cultures. Our home is a four-bed, three-bath home with an office and a theater room where we watch many movies. Our backyard is a fully fenced-in yard with an ample green space where we play yard games and sports. We have a swimming pool with a sun ledge and two water fountains for kids to play.

Our Extended Families

Whitney's Family

We both come from very close families. We live in a different state than our families, but they love to visit. We enjoy the memories we make with the quality time we spend together when they visit. It's nice to enjoy each other without the hassle of daily life getting in the way.

For the holiday's we travel to see our family, it is so important for us to be surrounded by family any moment we can. Since moving out of our hometown, we have made it a tradition to spend Christmas in Florida at our family's vacation home. There we enjoy fishing, swimming, and exploring.

Peter's Family

In addition, our families host a family reunion each summer where our extended families gather together. We both enjoy this tradition, as it allows us to see family members which we don't typically get to see outside the reunion.

We try to find as much time to travel back to our hometown as we can. We enjoy staying close to our families. Whether it's us going back home, or our families visiting us, we prioritize staying close to our families.

Family is significant to us, and we are so fortunate that we have maintained a close relationship with our families.

From Us to You

Hello!

We cannot begin to explain the level of gratitude we have for both of you to trust us to raise your child. We have been together for 10+ years and married for nine of them. It has been a long journey as we have been doing everything we possibly can to become parents. We have spent years of trying naturally, fertility medications, IUI, IVF, use of donors for IVF, to finally becoming pregnant only to lose the baby's heartbeat two months in.

We have dreamed of having little children together since we met. We understand what a child means to us and cannot imagine the choice that you are considering. Our promise to you should you choose us to be the adoptive parents, is we will raise this child with love, support, ethical values, in an environment that will allow them to feel safe and open to be the person they want to be. You will always hold a special place in the child's and our life forever. We also want you to know that we will be as open as you will allow us to be and feel like you are also an extension of our family. We hope we can share photos and letters with you detailing the progress of the child's life.

Aside from OUR excitement to adopt, our families understand what this means to us and supports us 100% with this decision to adopt. The child will immediately have cousins around the same age. Something we both enjoyed around the holidays growing up was getting to hang out and play with all our cousins.

We plan to take many family vacations around the world showing our children all that this world has to offer. There are so many beautiful landscapes and unique cultures that you can't fully grasp unless you are present in person.

Our child will be free to be the person they want with parental guidance to help explain and understand the difference between right and wrong. As long as they have a mentality to always do the right thing, they will be able to learn from mistakes and come out stronger as a result.

They will be extremely spoiled while also understanding the value of a dollar. Life is hard work physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Nothing worth having comes easy.

Children will be raised to be polite to everyone, not just their elders. They will understand that all lives are important and they should treat others the way they want to be treated.

Even though this will be our first child, we hope to have the opportunity to have him/her raised with siblings that they rely on throughout their life.

We know this is a confusing and difficult time for you while you are trying to figure out the best options for you and your precious baby. We hope that you feel supported and loved no matter where you are at in your journey. We admire you so much for considering adoption. We want to assure you that if you choose our family, we promise to respect you and whatever level of openness and contact that you want to have with us. We promise to cherish and love your child with our hearts and souls and to provide a safe, happy, home and a life with every opportunity possible.

Please know that we are praying for you and your sweet baby throughout your pregnancy, that God will fill you with peace in whatever decision you make.
