Jon & Chris

Our hearts are full of love and ready to welcome a new special gift into our lives. While growing up we dreamed of being dads and we appreciate you considering us to fulfil that dream. We can imagine the love, laughter, and adventures we will have, which brings a smile to our faces. We promise to provide unconditional love and wholeness to any child we are blessed with. We know you have a difficult decision and we admire your strength.

Leisure Time

May the Force Be with Us!

As a family we love being adventurous! We go to Disney World monthly where we have already made so many incredible memories. While there we see all the families and children having such a great time. It will be a dream come true to be able to provide a child with the opportunity to make lifelong memories there as well. Nothing makes our hearts happier than being able to witness a child's face light up at the most magical place on earth.

We also enjoy exploring local nature trails and learning about the local wildlife. While exploring the trails we bring binoculars to see what kind of birds we can identify and hope our dog Penny does not scare them all away! I can imagine how fun it will be to share our love of nature with the child and letting their imagination go wild.

There are countless other activities we love to do and nothing will make them better than being able to share them with another special addition to our family.

Addressing Cultural Diversity

As a multicultural household, cultural diversity is a very important topic to us. Some of our favorite memories as a family include celebrating the customs that make our cultures so unique. Chris is Latin American and we love cooking different types of Latin food, celebrating Latin traditions such a Noche Buena, or going to watch flamenco. Jon has strong Italian roots and we also enjoy making pasta, meatballs, and traveling to Italy.

Through adoption we decided to be open to many diverse racial opportunities. We understand this means that it will be our responsibility to also celebrate and bring those cultural traditions into the family as well. To do this we plan on leaning on our diverse friend group, local cultural centers, and other educational resources.

We know first-hand how important cultural background is to one's identity. We look forward to celebrating these traditions and making the child feel supported and loved.

Penny Enjoying the Park

We have a mixed breed terrier named Penny. She is such a silly and loving dog. She is very special to us because she was our first real shared responsibility as a couple. Through Penny we learned so much about ourselves and our relationship.

Penny brings out the absolute best in us and has showed us nothing but unconditional love. We love showing her that same love back. Seeing her happy is truly such a special and heartwarming sight. We take her on long walks, lay out the clean warm laundry from the dryer for her to lay on, and take any moment to let her little personality shine. Penny absolutely loves children. Anytime a child makes eye contact with her she gets so excited and wants to go say "hi!" We are truly lucky to have such a wonderful dog as part of our family.

We feel raising Penny together has been such a rewarding and special gift. We hope to one day grow our family so we can share that same love with a child. We know Penny is excited for that too.

Our Extended Families

Family Nature Walk

Family means the world to us. Chris's family lives in Florida and is always spending weekends with us! It is a multigenerational Latin family from Abuela Lola all the way down to our nieces and nephews. We often go to Disney World, restaurants, community events, and nature parks together. The most wonderful thing is when we are all together and cooking as a family. One family tradition we love is called Noche Buena. Every Christmas we celebrate on Christmas Eve with Chris's family and his mom cooks for everyone as we wait until midnight to celebrate (like New Years Eve!).

New Year's Eve!

Jon's family lives in Pennsylvania which gives us a great reason to travel up north. We often see Jon's family multiple times a year. When we visit Pennsylvania we like to play games and order our favorite pizza that we've been eating since childhood. One of Jon's favorite traditions with his family is cooking meatballs on Sundays during football season. There is nothing more comforting than the smell of frying meatballs as the football game is on!

Both of our families cannot wait to welcome a new addition into their lives and will provide a lifetime of laughter, love, and memories!

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Beautiful Home

Florida - We live in a wonderful family friendly community in Florida. Our city is known for its community events and family activities. Every winter there is a winter wonderland festival with a Christmas golf cart parade! There is also a snow machine, train ride, drone show, tree lighting ceremony, and of course, Santa! Our community also has a Fourth of July parade and fireworks show complete with music and food trucks. There are always family friendly events hosted by the city such as allowing the kids in our community to meet firefighters and sit in a fire tuck. There is also a fall festival and spring festival. In addition, we are members of the community garden and recreation center.

Our home is such a place of joy and warmth. It is a single-family home with four bedrooms in a community of many diverse families. There is a dog park and playground in our neighborhood as well. We have several indoor and outdoor plants and love to decorate for the holidays throughout the year. On any given night you are likely to hear the sounds and smells of us cooking dinner while the TV on in the background. Our dog Penny loves to hang out on the couch and spend time in our backyard running around or sunbathing.

From Us to You

We feel very fortunate that you are willing to take the time to get to know a little more about us. We know that this decision is one made out of love but that in no way makes it any easier. We promise to provide your child nothing but a safe, loving, and happy home. As you consider adoption please know that we truly care and are here with you along your journey.

Having children was something we always knew was part of our future as a couple. Soon after we met in 2015 we realized quickly our future together was going to be one of love, adventure, and laughter. A year or so after we met we decided to move in together. It was exciting and was the first time we felt like we were able to tackle life together - as a unit. Soon after, we adopted our dog Penny. She quickly became one of the best parts of our lives and we learned so much about ourselves from her. Through the years we finished graduate school and started our professional careers.

Chris is a nurse practitioner and Jon is a laboratory scientist. Chris has experience working in the neonatal cardiac ICU and is currently practicing as a primary care provider. Chris is so good with his patients and his patients love him. Many of them drive long distances to see him and have even brought him gifts! Jon is so compassionate and loves to solve problems. Jon enjoys the challenging cases at work and making his coworkers laugh.

In 2021 we decided to take the next step as a couple. Chris surprised Jon by proposing to him at Walt Disney World in front of Cinderella's castle at the Magic Kingdom. The cast members told Jon to face the castle for a picture as Chris got on one knee. Jon turned around and there was Chris, on one knee, asking Jon to marry him while people cheered and clapped all around us. What an incredible memory that will always bring a tear to our eyes.

Soon after our engagement we decided to differentiate ourselves further. We moved from Pennsylvania to Florida, got new jobs, and purchased our first home. You may be asking, why the big move? Well, we knew that building a family was in our future and we wanted to be somewhere that truly felt like a great place to raise a family. When choosing a home, we wanted several bedrooms and a big yard, in a community that was friendly and family oriented. Chris's family also lives in Florida and it means the world to us to have their support. We feel like our current community is extremely family centered and sets us up to be able to raise a family with so many things to do including being close to amusement parks, beaches, and museums.

So here we are, again ready to take yet another step but now as a married couple.

We admire and will respect the role you choose to play in the child's life no matter what that looks like. You will always be such a big part of their life and nothing will ever change that. We will keep open communication with you throughout the child's life. We will share photos, emails, text, phone calls, or whichever method of you prefer. We are also open to visitation when the time is right. We look forward to building a relationship with you and answering any more questions about us you may have. We know the decision you have ahead is not easy but we truly admire your strength through it all.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
