Our Leisure Time

Catamaran Boat Ride on Vacation

We love to stay active and on the go. Traveling is a passion of ours. Our favorite trip we’ve taken was to Australia. One day we hope to go back. Even though we are now parents and don’t have as much free time, we still love to travel. Our son has had a passport since he was less than a year old and has already experienced several really cool places.

We enjoy taking walks through the neighborhood and on the greenway. Our greenway runs along a river which makes it extra peaceful. Our son stays busy with extracurricular activities and sports. We enjoy attending all of his games and cheering him on in whatever he does. As a family, we love hitting up the park, playing putt-putt and board games, driving go carts, eating on the patio, and going bowling. Throughout the year we enjoy cheering on our favorite sports teams as well. We enjoy being outside as much as possible. Even though we love staying busy, sometimes you just need to chill. On those nights we like to rent a family movie, pop some popcorn and curl up on the couch together. We’re excited to share all of these fun activities with our children and create many memories.

Why We Chose Adoption

All Smiles

We have been blessed with our son, Tucker, who is 6 years old. Since he was 2 years old, we have tried continuously to have another child. Not having much luck, we sought out the help of a fertility specialist. Since having our son, Emily has experienced three miscarriages and one ectopic pregnancy. After a lot of heartache, we decided to look at other options. We discussed it and decide that adoption was the path we were meant to be on. We truly feel the reason Emily could not maintain a pregnancy is that we are meant to share our love, joy, and blessings with an adopted child. We would love to expand our family and feel it is not yet complete. Tucker cannot wait to be a big brother and we know he will be a great helper!

    Our House and Neighborhood

    Home Sweet Home

We live in a wonderful family oriented neighborhood within an awesome town that sits between two lakes. Our home has a traditional look to it. It has 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, lots of living space, and an awesome bonus room just for the kids. Our house has a great fenced in yard with a deck, a vegetable/fruit garden and a fun swing set. We love to sit on our deck for dinners any chance we get. Our neighborhood is filled with children of all ages to play with. The elementary school is located just 5 minutes up the road and is one of the best in the county. A new high school is being built close by and is where our children will attend one day.

Some of our favorite activities in the community are the children’s park, the lakes, zoo, the huge water park, and the greenway. There are also several museums. We have memberships to both the zoo and the water park and hit up the playground very regularly. Because we live just outside of a large city, there are fun events every weekend of the year from parades, to marathons, festivals, fairs, flea markets, to concerts. Our county fair is the largest in the state and is so much fun. We look forward to it every year and make sure to attend the Demolition Derby that’s part of the celebration. We love supporting our local professional sports teams.

    Our Extended Families

    Emily's Family

Our families are very supportive of our adoption plan and are excited for us. The grandparents are eager for another grandchild. Our children will be able to have a wonderful and close relationship with their grandparents, aunts and uncles.

We have an amazing relationship with Emily’s parents and her sister and husband. They live about 5 minutes from us. We do a lot together from family dinners, vacations, holidays, church, and leisure activities. Our favorite thing is steak night. Emily’s dad is a master griller and cooks a killer steak. Every year we enjoy traveling to Myrtle Beach together for a week of fun and relaxation. We celebrate most holidays with Emily’s family and always create many memories.

Tucker with Matt's Sister & Her Husband

Matt’s family is spread out and is unfortunately located in other states. We have a close relationship with his brother and sister and their families. We try to visit them as often as we can. Both of Matt’s siblings were adopted. It has been nice to have them as part of our support system since they have experience with adoption.

We have a good group of friends who are like family. We love to get together to watch sporting events, celebrate birthdays, or grab a bite to eat. Many of our friends have families of their own and our kids play together. Our friends are all very excited and can’t wait to meet our new little one.

    From Us to You

“Family not only need to consist of merely those whom we share blood, but also for those whom we’d give blood.”
    -Charles Dickens

Hi! We’re Matt and Emily and we’d like to thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We are extremely grateful you are considering us as potential parents for your child. We understand this is a decision not to be taken lightly and one that is filled with many emotions. Although we don’t truly know what you’re going through, we want you to know that we are sending love and prayers your way.

We met, dated, got engaged, and planned a wedding in a span of 16 months. October 2016 is our 10th wedding anniversary. We enjoyed three great years of celebrating us and our relationship before deciding to start a family. In 2010, we gave birth to our son, Tucker, who is now six years old. Since having our son, we have tried many times to expand our family. Unfortunately, that was not God’s plan for us. We truly feel God’s plan is for us to adopt a precious child to share our love with. Tucker is so excited to be a big brother. He’s been asking for the last three years for us to get him a baby sister or baby brother. If it were up to him he’d have twenty siblings. Not only will you be fulfilling our dream, but you will be making a special 6-year-old extremely happy!

Our family and friends are very important to us. They are our support system through this journey and are there with us every step of the way. Having our own family has always been a dream of ours. Although we have one son, we feel like our family is not yet complete. We pray that our dreams will be fulfilled though your generosity of making us parents again. We are committed to a semi-open adoption and keeping you updated through pictures and emails.

We look forward to doing so many things with our children. Reading books before bedtime, family dinner on the patio, sledding when it snows, playing outside when it’s nice, taking walks through the neighborhood, eating ice cream for dessert, traveling all over, and spending time with family and friends are some of the many things we’re excited to do. We look forward to many adventures and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

We raise our children with a solid work ethic, a Christian faith, the ability to be strong and independent, while being kind and compassionate. Our children will know that they are loved no matter what and are able to talk to us about anything. Our promise to you is that we will love your child unconditionally. We promise to always be honest about their adoption story. We promise to provide a safe and caring home surrounded by family and friends who will cherish them.

We understand that the gift of adoption is the ultimate act of love and selflessness and we thank you for this.

    With Love,

    Matt & Emily
