Met a Dragon Friend at Disney World

We are a fun-loving couple always eager to seek out new adventures, even when those adventures don't take us far from home. We are both avid readers, so bookstores and libraries are places we can frequently be found. We love museums for all of the cool things you can see and learn, and we both love animals, so zoos and aquariums are particular favorites. Whenever we travel, we always seek to try new things, be it eating new foods or seeing new places. We also love to attend live concerts and live theater whenever a good show comes nearby.

Nicole has creativity in her DNA, so she can usually be found creating something new, be it new artwork, new plush toys, new costumes, or many other things. Zeb is passionate about music, often spending time discovering new bands or rediscovering old favorites. We are both big animation fans - Disney in particular - so we love to visit Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California every opportunity we get.

We also both love to volunteer in our free time, as we strongly believe that giving back makes the world a better place. Nicole has many times volunteered for educational programs at our local zoo; Zeb has offered time to disaster relief efforts. And we both regularly volunteer at local fundraisers for children's charities. These are all things we can't wait to share with our child, and hope to spark their passion in the future!

Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other

We Love Visiting Historic Places

Nicole loves that Zeb is patient, supportive husband who wakes her up every morning with a smile and kiss. He sends a text message every day while he's at work just so she knows he loves her. Zeb's quiet enthusiasm and positivity is very uplifting, and his hugs can make a bad day feel right again. "He is always willing to listen when I have a problem, and willing to help in whatever way he can," says Nicole. "I love that he is so dedicated. He is always there for me." She feels these qualities will help him be a patient and loving father to any child he raises.

From the first day that they met, Zeb has always loved Nicole's energy and passion for life. Her smile is beautiful and her excitement is infectious whenever something sparks her interest and her eyes light up. Zeb also loves her creativity, and he loves her heart; she always goes out of her way to make sure that others feel welcome, and she is full of compassion for anyone who is hurting. "Whenever I'm having a rough time," Zeb says, "She always finds some way to make me smile. She is my soulmate." He believes that she will be an amazing mother, with a heart so big and so much love to give.

Adoption in Our Lives

Adoption has always been a part of our lives, in many different ways. We have several good friends who were adopted, or who have adopted children into their homes. We have family members who have placed children for adoption, and other family members who have adopted children themselves. Many of these adoptions have crossed racial or cultural lines. Zeb grew up down the street from a neighborhood friend who was adopted, so it has always seemed like a natural, wonderful thing. Nicole's family, too, took in one of her brother's teenage friends when that friend's family abandoned him, and he became just like one of their own.

Our adopted friends have been an invaluable source of information and support as we have moved forward in our own adoption journey. Without exception, our friends and family have been very supportive of our plan to adopt and they cannot wait to meet our newest family member!

Our House and Neighborhood

Home Sweet Home

We live in a quiet suburban neighborhood in Arkansas with lots of trees and little traffic - perfect for kids (and parents!) who enjoy playing outside. We own a two-story home on a fenced lot with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, featuring an open floorplan ready for dances and parades through the living room and kitchen downstairs. An elementary school with playground stands at the edge of the neighborhood, where we would walk or drive our child to school every day. Our homeowner's association supports a community swimming pool and tennis courts for recreation, and youth baseball and soccer fields are less than three miles away.

Just past the athletic fields is a popular local shopping center, which hosts an annual trick-or-treat event every October. A local forest sets up drive-through Christmas lights every December. Our immediate area also features numerous public parks, walking and biking trails, and a community compound including a youth fishing pond, a playground, a police station, and a public library. The library offers a summer reading club and weekly events throughout the year for kids of all ages, such as scheduled storytimes, a Lego building club, a Pokemon club, and free family movie screenings. Our neighborhood is nestled between two grocery stores and three churches, so all of the essentials are nearby. And Zeb works for the local Children's Hospital, which recently earned Magnet Certification for excellence, so our child would receive the same excellent level of care.

Our Extended Families

Mountain Climbing With Our Nephew

We have wonderful and supportive family and friends nearby, including Nicole's parents, her sister, her brother-in-law, and their kids. Nicole's parents have been married to each other for over 40 years and are regular fixtures in our lives, often getting together with us for family dinners, game nights, movies, or just mutually helping out at each other's houses. Zeb often sings the national anthem at local baseball games, which Nicole's parents and nephew will also attend to enjoy the evening out together. Every Christmas Eve, a highlight of everyone's year is when the whole family gathers at her parents' house for cookies, cocoa, coffee, and eager anticipation of the next day's excitement.

With Our Goddaughter

Zeb's mother and sister live further away in Houston, where he grew up, but we still keep in contact and like to visit whenever we can. Zeb was raised on attending baseball games in the Astrodome with his mom, so their mutual love of the Houston Astros remains a vibrant link to his family and his childhood home. His mom is a music teacher and a gifted singer, and as such she passed along her passion for music; Nicole's mom is likewise an extremely talented artist, which helped inspire Nicole's passion for art, so we cannot wait to share these creative gifts with our child.

Both of our families are equally excited and supportive of our adoption plan, and eager to help in raising this child in every way that they can!

From Us to You

Becoming a parent is one of the greatest responsibilities but greatest blessings that anyone can receive in this life. Adoption is a beautiful and incredible thing, and a precious gift to all whose lives are touched by it. But making the decision to place your child up for adoption is in no way an easy thing, so we understand that your world is a whirlwind of emotions right now. It takes great strength and even greater love for your child to choose adoption for their sake, wanting the best life for your child that you can give them. We are honored and humbled that you are reading our profile to consider us for such a choice. But we also want to do everything we can to put your mind at ease, and our promise to you if you choose us as parents for your child is that they will never for a moment in their lives have any doubt how priceless and how loved they are.

Our names are Zeb and Nicole; we have known each other for 12 years, been married for 9, and been together for 10. We were friends first before we were anything else, and we feel like that foundation has always made our relationship stronger - beyond everything else, our relationship is rooted in love. Zeb is an IT professional who works full time at our local Children's Hospital. Nicole runs her own art studio out of our home, and she's prepared to be a stay-at-home mom whenever we get to welcome a precious new life into our lives. We have three easygoing pets - two cats and a dog - and our home is filled with stories, music, art, laughter, and life. Nothing would make us happier than to open our hearts and lives to a cherished young one with whom we cannot wait to share everything we have to give.

We own a two-story house in a quiet, residential neighborhood in an area that is ready-made for kids. Playgrounds, parks, schools, libraries, athletic fields, swimming, fishing, hiking, biking, and more are all close at hand. Nicole's parents live less than two miles away, and they're as excited as we are about us growing our family through adoption. They are amazing people, married for over 40 years now, ready to babysit whenever needed and eager to be a huge part of the child's life.

We believe that life is an adventure, and the world needs more imagination and fun! We love to travel and see new things, and we want our child to have the same opportunities. We love to read, which lets you go on adventures even when you can't leave the house. We love the arts, and plan to encourage creativity in all its forms. We're both big animation fans already, so our future child already has a complete Disney movie library at their fingertips! And even as adults, we still love to learn; Zeb comes from a family of educators, and we believe that education is very important. But learning, too, should be fun - the adventure of life should be filled with learning along the way.

If we are blessed to have you choose us as parents for your child, we want to you know that you will always be a part of their story and a part of their life. We plan to tell our child their adoption story from the first day they are in our arms, and that story begins with your love. We will be excited to share pictures, letters, and emails with you so you can follow their story as they grow. We want you to be proud of them, as we will be proud of them, and we vow to do our best to care for them every way we can.

We have a room waiting across the hall from ours, ready to become a nursery, then a child's room later as they grow. We can't wait to see that room filled by a beautiful young life. Thank you sincerely for considering us for this precious, priceless gift.

With all of our love,

Zeb & Nicole
