Jason & Regina
Words cannot express how much respect and admiration we have for you. What a blessing you are to give your child life and we would be beyond honored if you would allow us to embrace your child into our family. Our hearts desire is for both you and your baby to be happy and healthy! Our lives were changed forever the day our son was born and we are so excited to grow our family through the gift of adoption!
Why We Chose Adoption
Adoption is a natural feeling for our family. We began discussing our future family and adoption even before we were married. Jason had close family friends growing up with adopted children and his family worked with foster children through their church growing up. Through high school, Regina babysat her neighbor’s two children, who were gifts to their families through adoption, every weekend.
While we have been blessed with a son, Ethan, we’ve always had on our hearts that our next child would be through adoption. Quite simply, growing our family through adoption is Plan “A”! We both believe God placed on our hearts long ago, before we even met, that we would build our family through the blessing of adoption.
Ethan is so excited to become a big brother! Ethan is in fourth grade and is a great student. He loves to play baseball, takes piano and acting lessons, and is involved in many activities at school. We play together as a family. Our son enjoys board games and video games, which we all participate in. We also bike together, swim in our pool, and walk our dog together. Our son enjoys being outside and we love the time together.
Our Leisure Time
We believe that the best measure of what is most important to you can be found by where you spend the most of your time. Spending time together as a family, and building memories together, are the most important hobbies to our family.
We have small traditions - we love our Friday night movie nights, when we make popcorn and ice cream floats and watch a movie together. Saturday’s are filled with activities - Jason makes homemade pancakes, and then we typically attend one of our son’s many events such as a baseball game, a birthday party of one of his friends, a piano recital, a football game; or we head to one of our favorite theme parks like Disney World. On Sunday, we attend church as a family. We have taught Sunday School class for most of the 14 years that we’ve been married. We love our church, and we’ve loved teaching our son’s class for several years. Our other leisure activities include spending time with friends and family. We have wonderful friends and neighbors and it is common to see the kids playing together at one of our houses while the adults spend time together.
Our Family Dream
We have the same dreams for our family and for our next child as we have for our son today – for our children to know at all times that they are loved, and to parent them to become the best person they can be. We always say we like to “invest in memories”. When our children grow up, we want them to able to look back and remember that their family was filled with love. This does not mean that there will never be tough times, but that in those times they experience what unconditional love is and that their family is always there for support, encouragement and comfort, no matter what.
We want our children to receive the best education possible. No matter what they chose to do in life we want them to be well-rounded and ready for the endeavors they choose.Lastly, we feel it is important to raise our children in a Christian household. Their decision to become Christians will be just that, their decision. We will provide for them, as best as we can, a living example of what it means to be a Christian and our call to serve others.
Our House and Neighborhood
Our neighborhood is located on the water, which makes for great scenery for family strolls and exercising. Our neighborhood has only one entrance, resulting in little to no traffic and making it a safe venue for kids to play. Also, our neighborhood has lots of children of all ages! Our son often plays with the other children in a pickup game of basketball or baseball, or some pretty impressive Nerf battles across the front yards. Our son learned to ride his bicycle in the cul-de-sac next to our house and his piano teacher, which many children at our son’s school also take lessons from, lives just two doors down! In addition, our neighborhood has annual events like our Halloween block party, a family friendly get together with catered food before sun-down when the trick-or-treating begins.
When we moved into our home four years ago, we knew as soon as we walked in the door that this was the place for our family. We love our open kitchen that is perfect for family and friend get-together’s, and kids that come over love our play room which has lots of toys and electronics! We have cookouts and swim parties in our backyard, and we love taking our dog, Elvis, for walks where he can visit his dog friends on their walks. Our house is also located within one mile of our son’s school and baseball field and is a short drive to our church.
Our Extended Families
Our family, along with our faith, are the foundations of our lives. We have been blessed with loving, supportive families, and we have used those models to shape our family. In 2006, we were blessed with the birth our son, Ethan. Having a child instantly changed our lives forever, we love every minute of it and we can’t wait to have another child!
We spend as much time together and with our extended family as possible, and there are a lot of cousins to have fun with! We do this through small, every day settings like family dinners or all attending a Little League game together. We also take yearly family trips where we have over 20 relatives together. Holidays are also a big deal in our family. Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays are all built around family. These opportunities give our son a chance to spend time with our parents (Ethan’s four grandparents) and all of his many cousins.
One of our favorite sayings is that we like to “invest in memories." We believe building memories with family and friends is what brings the most joy to our lives.
From Us to You
Thank you for taking the time to read our letter and for considering our family. Thank you also, for your amazing sacrifice of choosing adoption for your child. We are excited about the adoption process and cannot wait to embrace our next child into our family.
Our names are Jason and Regina and we have been married for 14 years. Jason is from Texas and Regina is from Florida. We met while working for the same company when we were sent on a one-year assignment together in Colorado from our respective home cities. We married just a couple of years later! While we are dual career parents, our family always comes first and we are blessed to enjoy flexibility in our work schedules. We believe having a career is a good example to set for our children on what both men and women can accomplish.
We have a wonderful, amazing son named Ethan. He is in grade school and is involved in baseball, basketball, piano and acting. He loves playing with his friends and spending time with his many cousins. Being parents has been the most rewarding experience of our life and we can’t wait to expand our family. Ethan is so excited for the opportunity to be a big brother!
We began discussing adoption even before we were married. As a newly engaged couple, we talked about our future life together and shared with each other that we both wanted adoption to be part of the plan for our family. While we’ve been blessed with a son, we’ve always known that our second child would be through adoption. In February of this year on a beautiful three-hour drive to the airport after a snow skiing vacation in New Mexico, we found ourselves talking about how we both felt God was telling us now was the time for our family to grow through adoption. Now here we are, all three of our hearts bursting with excitement to discover God’s plan!
As parents, we believe the most important thing we can give our son, and our next child, is unconditional love. We were both blessed to be raised in supporting, loving families and we want the same for our children. We also promise to provide your child with the best education opportunities possible and to expose them to sports, culture, travel, and other activities that interest them. We believe that by letting them have these different experiences, our children will be more well-rounded and will meet people from different walks of life and different perspectives.
Our Christian faith is the foundation of our family. We promise to raise your child in a loving Christian home with a supportive and caring church family alongside them. They will also be loved by four wonderful grandparents, and multiple aunts, uncles and cousins.
We are happy to discuss the level of involvement and updates you wish to receive. We will love your child as our own and we will uphold our commitment to you and to your child as to your desired level of correspondence as long as we live. Our hearts desire for you both is to be happy and healthy! We will also be flexible should your needs and wants for communication and correspondence change.
Please see our video to get to know a little more about our family! May God bless you in the remaining days of your pregnancy and protect you during delivery.Thank you,
Jason & Regina
