How We Met

Hawaii Hike

We met while attending college about 17 years ago. While taking the same class, Will sat next to Tracy and charmed her with his sense of humor. We immediately hit it off and became inseparable. Studying the same topic in school, we had several classes together and could help each other with homework assignments. There were many late evenings in the computer lab to finish projects and study for exams.

Outside of school, we had several common interests that we enjoyed together. We liked to hang out at the pool, watch movies, and spend time with friends. We continued our journey and got married a few years after college. Our lives since then have been a journey of growing our relationship and personal development. Today, Will remains in a career that is related to computer studies and Tracy has chose to become an entrepreneur.

About two years ago, we moved to Hawaii and developed some new interests. We like spending time outdoors, enjoying hiking, going to the beach, and looking at the stars. We enjoy traveling and have been to many different countries in the world. Our life has continued to be an adventure and we are excited to share our experiences with our new child.

Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other

All Smiles at a Basketball Game

Will About Tracy: I always say that Tracy is my better half, and that I honestly don’t know where I would be without her. Her love and affection has been there to brighten my life at times when I thought there was no light to be found. Her silly, goofy nature keeps me smiling, and makes any situation fun and memorable. I’m in constant awe of her intelligence and unwavering drive to succeed. She never lets any obstacle derail her from her goals, and I’m positive that she’ll bring that same love and passion to being the best mother she can be.

Tracy About Will: Will is my best friend. I love that I’m able to be myself around him and talk to him about anything. He’s a very kind, sweet, and supportive person. He’s always been there to support me through both good and tough times. I admire that he’s helpful to others, many times treating friends like they were his own family. He is never hesitant to go above and beyond to be there for people that he loves and cares for. I know these are qualities in him that will make him a wonderful father.

What it Means to Become Parents

Becoming parents is something that has been on our minds and hearts for a long time now. We’ve both dreamed of the day when we could gush over our child's first words or steps, cheer our child on during their first basketball game, or stand and applaud them during their first dance recital. It's these types of memories and more that we're looking forward to building with our child. We understand though that with every parental highlight, there will also come some lows too. We’re also prepared for the long sleepless nights and the many days of taking care of sick children as well. Parenting will be challenging, but nothing worthwhile in this world comes without risks. And we cannot think of anything more worthwhile than welcoming a child into our hearts and helping them grow.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Condo Has Beautiful Views

We live in a two-bedroom, two-bathroom condo. We spend a lot of time in our living room and on our balcony to watch the sunset. Our building has a swimming pool. Our building is a mixture of retired people and young families with children of all ages and ethnicities. It is located in a medium sized city.

We participate in cultural events in our community. Every Memorial Day, they have a Lantern Floating Ceremony. It is a time for people to come together to honor their departed loved ones and to support each other on a day of remembrance. Many people decorate and write messages on lanterns before releasing them to float on the ocean. During the summer, there are several Bon Dance festivals. Bon Dance is a Buddhist tradition of commemorating ancestors. In Hawaii, they have become a cultural event with food, activities, and dancing open to the entire community. In December, our town holds a holiday light festival. A large outdoor Christmas tree and Mr. and Mrs. Claus are featured.

Any activity that we want to be involved in, such as shopping, going to a museum, festival, etc. is within minutes of our home. Tracy sometimes takes dance classes at a nearby studio. Several sports activities are nearby. We would spend a lot of time here, if our child decides to be involved with one of these activities. We are within 1 mile of the beach, where we would enjoy time with our child.

Our Extended Families

Will With His Father & Brothers

We share close relationships with our families. Prior to our move to Hawaii, we lived close to Tracy’s parents, sister, and grandmother. We would often get together for dinner, to help each other with household tasks, or enjoy each other’s company. Although moving has made getting together less frequent, we still talk to our families often and plan yearly visits. We anticipate more visits from our family when we have a child.

Christmas at the Beach With Family

Tracy’s mom grew up in Seoul, South Korea and her extended family resides there. We recently had the opportunity to visit South Korea and spend time with her extended family there.

Will is the youngest of five boys. He's an uncle to 10 nieces and nephews and is affectionately called "Uncle Jungle Gym" by the smaller ones. The majority of his family lives throughout California. When we can, we travel to his father's place for the holidays so that we can spend quality time with everyone. Everyone is looking forward to welcoming this child as the new addition to our family.

From Us to You

Aloha! It’s a pleasure to introduce ourselves to you. Our names are Tracy and Will. Thank you very much for taking the time to read our profile. I hope this helps you get to know us a little bit better. We know that the decision may not be an easy one, and we admire your strength and courage in making this very important decision about your baby’s future.

Since the beginning of our relationship, we both shared the desire of becoming parents, and always talked about starting a family of our own. Unfortunately, after many years of trying, we were told that we are unable to conceive. Though disappointed, we trusted in ourselves and our faith and embarked on a new plan towards our dream.

We understand that the decision you are making for you and your child is not an easy one, and is probably something that you’ve thought long and hard about. This decision is not something that we have taken lightly ourselves. We know that parenting will not always go as smoothly as you see on a TV sitcom. But it’s a challenge that we readily accept because it will truly be the greatest, most rewarding experiences of our lives.

Your child will be welcomed with open arms into a very loving, stable, and fun family. Will is a full-time IT professional, while Tracy is an entrepreneur who has run several successful businesses. We’ve been together now for over 15 years, and truly feel that we are each other’s soulmate. We enjoy spending every chance we get with one another, and trying to find new ways to make each other laugh. Living in Hawaii provides us the opportunity to get outdoors and find new adventures together. We both enjoy going to the beach, going on hikes, and watching sunsets. We would love to show your child the beauty of one of the many waterfalls on Oahu, or walk them along the black sand beaches of Maui. There is a lot of scenic beauty and nature spots to explore where we live. We also love to travel and are looking forward to showing your child the many cultures and experiences that the world has to offer.

We are open to exchanging written letters and pictures with you so you can keep in touch with your child and see them happy, loved, and growing. We believe that it’s important for them to know where they come from and we hope to keep the lines of communication open as your child grows and matures.

You are an incredibly courageous person for going on this journey. We have great admiration for your loving consideration of adoption of your child. We know this is a very important decision you have to make. We are ready and committed to provide your child with a loving and nurturing environment. We look forward to showering your child with affection and surrounding them with a supportive environment. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us.

With love and respect,

Will & Tracy
