Our Leisure Time

One Day We'll Make it to All of the MLB Ballparks

Life can keep you busy, but it is always important to set time aside to spend with each other and family. Aside from Sunday traditions of worship at Church and suppers, we enjoy spending time hiking, taking nature walks, traveling to see family or spend time on a beach. We enjoy visiting many different places, especially tropical regions. We most recently cruised to 4 different countries in the Caribbean.

We also enjoy weekend getaways to national or state parks. Our country has so many beautiful places, we can see a lot on a simple weekend getaway- Chicago, St Louis, Ozarks, local parks and rivers, etc. Seeing a variety of places around the world allows us to not only experience different cultures, but also meet a variety of different people.

We also enjoy attending a variety of sporting events- St Louis Cardinals, Kansas Jayhawks, etc. One of our “bucket list” adventures is to visit all the Ballparks of the MLB. When not visiting sporting venues, we like to work in the yard manicuring the lawn, planting flowers, or simply enjoying the weather. Sports are not just a leisure time for us, Brad also enjoys various Public Address announcing positions, where he announces different sporting events. Keeping active with a variety of activities is something we will enjoy sharing with a child someday, it could be the child’s game Brad is announcing.

What it Means to be Parents

We Can't Wait to be Parents!

Being a parent means more to us than is easily explained. We have been wanting to become parents for some time. We have had the time, thus far in our marriage, to focus on each other and have created many unforgettable memories. Adding a child will give us the opportunity to share those experiences while fostering new ones in a nurturing environment. Bringing a child into the home can be a challenging yet fulfilling journey. We look forward to a baby and to see him/her grow, learn to speak, walk, ride a bike, spending time with family, and many others. We are so excited to become parents and to become a family of three or four!

Education We will Provide

Education is very important for any child we bring into our home. We both attended public schools and then went on to college and graduate school. Even if the path is not a direct one, education is important to keep pursuing lifelong goals. We will encourage our child to work hard to reach his/her goals, whether it be attending college, trade/tech school or seeking another passion. We will help provide all resources available to help a child do the best he/she can do academically to be successful. We plan to be available nightly for any needed assistance with homework, be involved in areas outside the classroom, to expose him/her to world experiences through travel and volunteer opportunities if he/she chooses.

Our Extended Families

Spending Time with Brad's Parents

We have a very large extended family. Most of our family is located in the Midwest and within a few hours of travel. Becky is one of five children and Brad has one sister. There are numerous children ranging in age from "expecting" to 25 years old. We love to gather for holidays. Most of the time we gather in the kitchen and talk while the children play and interact with each other. We have some close friends who like to visit and we tend to play family games outside or just sit around talking about events in the past.

Zoo Day with Our Nieces

Our family is somewhat unique in the way that we have such a variety and a wide spread of ages in the family. On both sides of our families, we have 4 generations of family who love to spend time together. We would love to add a child to this mix as family times are a lot of fun and provide many long lasting memories. Over the past couple months, we have discussed our adoption plan with our family. All are not only excited, but know having a child means the world to us and all have said they are ready to welcome another family member into the family!

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We have recently moved to Missouri from Texas to be closer to family and have moved into a new home. We live on a quiet dead-end cul-de-sac in a golf community. Our new home is in a great community with families of all ages. There are many children who are frequently outside riding bikes or playing in their front yards. There are numerous events throughout the year to bring families together- pool parties, movie night at the pool, Halloween parade, Breakfast with Santa and miniature golf. Also nearby, there is a historic park dating back to Revolutionary War era. This is a very family friendly park and also has great value in history. We have even spent some time picnicking at the lake in the park.

When not outside, we enjoy spending movie nights in the basement and other nights in the great room for play activities or relaxing. We look forward to sharing our new home with a child, particularly decorating for the holidays, sledding down the back yard hill, or spending time at the pool or park in the summer.

Our town is close to a larger city, but also has several smaller town festivals we enjoy attending. Family has joined us for some of these events. Brad is also active with some of the college sports teams. There are so many places and activities we look forward to sharing with a child.

From Us to You

Thank you for giving us the time to introduce ourselves to you. We cannot imagine how difficult a decision this must be for you. Let us first tell you a little about us- we are Brad and Becky.

We met in 2009 and later married in April of 2011. We have grown together and our love was bound on our wedding day. Our marriage is founded on a strong base of trust and love for each other. After we married, we looked forward to a new adventure of starting a family. We both wanted to become parents and decided to start, fairly quickly after we married, to have a family. We became pregnant in December 2011 and later miscarried. We were somewhat devastated and yet we continued to try month after month to become pregnant. Unable to become pregnant on our own, we turned to infertility specialists and still no success. This was hard to accept and the decision of adoption became a bright opening in front of us.

We would love to welcome a baby into our home and are excited to pursue adoption as a way to grow our family. We know it is a very personal and difficult decision for you to choose to place your baby with an adoptive family, but know God has a plan for all of us and we hope that opening our home to your baby would be a way of helping make the decision easier.

If you were to select us as your baby's adoptive family, we vow to be the center of his/her life as he/she would be the center of ours. We are very close with our families and have a lot of memories from our childhood, we look forward to sharing these memories with a child. Our family is very excited and supportive in our decision to adopt. The baby will be welcomed by a large extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins.

We enjoy spending time with family, especially around the holidays. We also love to travel to various places. One of our great joys is attending baseball games across the country. Along with vacationing and baseball games, we also love to hang out at home with each other and spending quality time with family. From barbecues, birthday parties, and holiday gatherings to watching movies, cooking/baking, swimming and hanging out around the table laughing.

We plan to share with you your child's growth and life experiences through photos, cards, stories and letters, if desired. We are willing to be open with communication depending on your comfort level. We also plan to be very open and honest with the child about his/her adoption. We know you love your child and we will share your love with him/her. You are important to your child and us and always will be.

Thank you for considering us as potential parents for you baby. For some time, we have been looking forward to welcoming a child into our family and we assure you, we will provide a safe, stable, compassionate and nurturing home for your baby. We know that this is very difficult decision to make and we pray you are guided through this decision.

Warmly,

Brad & Becky
