Adoption in Our Lives

Kasey's Sisters - Leigha & Rylee

Adoption has touched our family in many ways and we are so blessed that it has!

Kasey has two younger sisters that are adopted who are 8-years-old and 5-years-old. We couldn't imagine life without these two amazing girls in it! They bring so much joy into our family.

Chris' Family

One of Chris' brothers has adopted as well. Chris' brother adopted his older daughter through step-parent adoption and then he and his wife adopted their youngest daughter as well. We couldn't be happier that they are now a part of our family and they continue to amaze us every day. We have greatly enjoyed getting to be apart of their lives and watching them grow into the wonderful girls they are today. Both sides of the family are very supportive of our plans to adopt and cannot wait to welcome the newest member of the family!

Our Most Memorable Moment

We Love Rome!

One of the great benefits of being a military family is the opportunity to see the world. We have been able to travel and meet people of all different backgrounds and cultures. It is an amazing way to experience the beauty of the world and we cannot wait to share it all with a child!

One of our most memorable moments in our life was went we got to take a five-day vacation to Rome, Italy. We love exploring other cultures and countries, however this city holds a special place with us due to unique history and fantastic architecture. Getting to see all the wonders that Rome has to offer, from the Colosseum to Saint Peter's Basilica including the Vatican City itself, was something we truly enjoyed. There are so many museums filled with tapestries, paintings, and sculptures that we didn't get a chance to get to see them all (but we did our best)! Along with all the interesting history there is also great food, too. We had the great luck in getting to eat at a small café outside the Roman forum with the sun setting in the background. It really was a moment to remember and a memory that we will always cherish. We hope to return to Rome as a family and cannot wait to share his incredible city with our child one day!

Why We Chose Adoption

There are several reasons why we chose adoption. First, adoption was something both of us agreed upon when we starting dating. We both felt that even if we could have biological children that we would still adopt. It was something we both felt that we wanted to do with our lives. We both felt so strongly about adoption that we realized it was just another conformation that we were meant to share our lives together.

Second, after several years and several rounds of fertility treatments, we found out that we were unable to have biological children without invasive treatments, and even then it would still be difficult. Since we knew we both shared a desire to adopt, we decided at this point that it was time to begin our adoption journey. We couldn't be happier with our decision and cannot wait for the next chapter in our lives!

Our House and Neighborhood

We Fell in Love With Our House the First Time We Saw It!

We fell in love with our house the moment we pulled up in the driveway. The house sits in the back of a small subdivision on a dead-end street. It's quiet with plenty of room for kids to play.

Our house has three bedrooms and two full bathrooms with an open concept living/dinning/and kitchen area between the master bedroom on one side and the other two on the opposite. The back spare bedroom we turned into the office where Chris does his work, draws and Kasey does her crafts. The front bedroom has been turned into the nursery.

The front is landscaped with flower gardens and a small flowering tree. The backyard, while not big, backs up to a wooded area that allows for birds, squirrels and bunnies to frequent our yard.

However, our neighbors are what we love most about our community. They have been warm and welcoming and have quickly become some of our really good friends. They all have young children and get together once a week for them all to play. Sometimes we all go to the splashpad or go to one of the multiple parks in the area.

Our community holds tons events centered around the military community and loves to celebrate all holidays in style. It really is a great place to raise a child and we look forward to sharing all of the fun with a child!

Our Extended Families

Chris With His Siblings

Both of our families are super excited about this process and cannot wait to meet the new addition!

We both come from large families, with Kasey having three brothers and three sisters, while Chris has three brothers and ne sister. Combined, we have a total of 10 nephews and five nieces.

While our families do not live near us, we love to travel! They always make trips out to see us and we drive to see them multiple times a year.

Kasey With Her Mom & Dad

When Kasey's family gets together is usually involves a big cookout, swimming (if it's warm enough), and lots of dominos. We have huge domino tournaments that end with lots of laughs and bragging rights for the winners until the next time! The kids love getting to spend time with each other and all fall asleep in the living room watching a Disney movie.

Chris' family loves to get together on Sundays for a huge family dinner and football at Chris' mother and father's house! Everyone comes over before lunch time for snacks and while the game is playing, a nice Sunday dinner is in the oven. All the kids love going over to "Mimi's" house because she has crafted a one-of-a-kind grandkids playroom that is amazing.

From Us to You

Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity to introduce who we are and letting us tell you about our family. Our names are Kasey and Chris. We cannot express how grateful that you love your unborn child so much that you are willing to consider an adoption plan for him or her. While we are not parents yet, we know that words cannot express the love between parents and their child.

We met over 12 years ago and our lives have been, to say the least, eventful and fulfilling. Chris serves in the branch of the military and it has provided us so many wonderful opportunities and experiences that has helped us grow as people and one day parents. It has allowed us to be world travelers and get to experience other cultures. We are both fortunate in that we are blessed to have two great jobs that allow us the flexibility to spend a lot of time with our family.

We currently live in a great town in the Midwest and have a great support group of neighbors and friends. Most of our family resides in Texas however one group or the other makes the trip almost monthly to visit. We try to spend as much time with our families and friends as possible. We are always getting together for events, big or small, vacations, and holidays. We are grateful to both be from large close families that enjoy being in each other lives and when they cannot be, we are blessed to have such great friends in our neighborhood.

Any child(ren) that we might be blessed with will have a bunch of cousins in his or her life. We currently have 15 nieces and nephews from both sides that are eager to have another cousin. We love spending time with each one because they all have such unique personalities that they are always keep us on our toes. Getting to be a part of their lives and teaching them has been some of our greatest joys. To us, there is nothing more important than our family or faith.

We hope that someday, when we meet, that we can include you in our ever growing family. We hope that you see the gifted, beautiful, outgoing and funny person that we see every day and that we love so, so much through the letters and pictures that we will exchange throughout the years. I know when we look in her/his eyes we will see your beautiful eyes staring back at us every day, and think of you and the excellent gift you have given us. Our hope is that we will have provided him/her with everything you dreamed he/she would have in life, and more.
