Randy & Hannah
We admire you for your courage and strength and are honored that you are reading our story. We consider our role as parents to be our greatest blessing in this life. We promise to provide a home filled with love, respect and many opportunities to learn and grow. Thank you for looking at our profile and considering us to be parents, and our daughter, Nora, to be a sister to your child.
Adoption in Our Lives
Our daughter Nora is two and was adopted at birth. She is the light of our lives and brings so much happiness and fun to our family. She has such a unique perspective on the world and lives life with a passion that is contagious.
We spent the months leading up to Nora's birth getting to know her birth mom via email. We continue to send pictures and letters, and are pleased to share in the joys of watching her grow. We admire Nora's birth mom and know it was with great love she chose adoption.
Nora is thoughtful and kind. She loves the color purple, picking out her own outfit each morning (which typically include the color purple), dancing, running laps around the dining room table pretending to be The Flash, and reading books.
We are excited to be adopting again. We hope that our children will have a special bond because of their shared adoption experience. Our siblings are a blessing to us and we hope our children will also feel blessed to have each other.
Our Life Priorities
There are many priorities in our lives: God, family and friends, our careers and travel are at the top of our list.
Our faith in God is at the center of our lives and the center of our marriage. We have been blessed in so many ways and we try to give all the glory back to God each and every day. We both grew up in faith filled Christian homes and we want the same for our children.
Our family and friends are very special to us. Being parents is our number one blessing. We consider each day with Nora a gift. Our parents have provided us with such wonderful examples of strong and loving marriages. We wouldn't be who we are today without them.
Randy is very passionate about teaching. He loves working with young children and seeing them learn and grow. Hannah loves the new and ever changing challenges her career provides.
We also love to travel. Exploring the world is not only fun and exciting, but it also offers a new outlook and mindset on life. It is a great reminder of how important it is to be mindful and understanding of different cultures and people. It makes us very grateful to live in this wonderful country and for all the blessings we have been given.
Our Favorite Vacation Spot
One of our favorite vacation spots is Randy's parents' beach place in Destin, Florida. The sand is a beautiful white and the water a stunning emerald color. We have been able to enjoy the slower pace of beach life multiple times over the last several years.
It is a great place to play and relax as a family. We usually see several dolphins swimming by from the balcony daily. There are lots of fun things to do in the area; like swimming with the dolphins, deep sea fishing, parasailing, and sea kayaking. We were able to take Nora for her first trip to Destin this year. It was extra special since both sides of the family were able to spend some time together at the beach. She loved playing in the sand, splashing in the ocean, finding shells on the beach, and swimming in the pool with her cousin Lila. We look forward to many more trips to Destin and can't wait to share this special place with another child.
Our House and Neighborhood
We were both born and raised in Minnesota and we love living in the land of 10,000 lakes! We live in a safe, family-oriented neighborhood with parks, walking and biking trails and playgrounds nearby. A lot of young children live in our cul-de-sac and they spend lots of time playing baseball, basketball, hockey and riding bikes together. Our neighborhood participates in National Night Out each August. This year's fun included a popcorn machine, a bounce house for the kids and a visit from one of the city fire trucks.
Our four-bedroom home is warm and inviting. We spend the majority of our time where the toys are; in the playroom and sunroom. When the weather is nice we spend a lot of time playing outside and drawing with chalk on the driveway. Our home is furnished with comfy furniture and art and pottery we have collected over the years from our travels and local art fairs. From spring to fall we participate in a Community Supported Agriculture program. We love supporting the local farmer and enjoying all the homegrown produce. We love our home and can't wait to share it with another family member.
Our Extended Families
We are both blessed with loving and supportive families and friends. Our families live nearby and we spend time together often.
Hannah's younger sister and brother-in-law are expecting their second child. We are excited for Nora to have another cousin close in age! Hannah comes from a very large extended family. Holidays and family gatherings include lots of aunts, uncles and cousins. We have enjoyed hosting Hannah's favorite holiday, Thanksgiving, at our home the past several years. It is such a fun time having family and friends together to enjoy food, laughter and fun.
Randy's extended family is smaller and closely-knit. We love spending time with his aunt, uncle and cousin that live in the area. We get together with his parents and younger brother often for dinner. In the summer we spend lots of weekends together with them at the cabin boating, playing in the sandbox and riding the four wheeler. The Fourth of July is spent at the cabin enjoying the annual pancake breakfast, small town parade and fireworks.
Our family and friends have been so supportive and enthusiastic to hear we are growing our family through adoption again. They cannot wait to be a part of the child's life and will love the new bundle of joy unconditionally.
From Us to You
Words do not seem adequate. They do not seem enough, to express how much we already admire you. We do not know your situation or the trials and tribulations you may be facing, but we do know that profound selfless love for your unborn child has led you to consider adoption.
We are Hannah and Randy. We met online eight years ago and have been married for almost seven years. We feel blessed to have found each other, even though we grew up in the same metropolitan area our paths would not have crossed on their own. Our marriage is Christ centered, filled with laughter, support, and adventure.
Like many couples we struggled with infertility. We now know wholeheartedly that God had a special plan for us. We were meant to grow our family through adoption. Becoming parents for the first time through the gift of adoption was such a wonderful blessing. We are ready and eager to welcome a second child into our family.
We are honored to be considered as potential parents for your baby. We promise to provide a home filled with love and laughter, and we promise to share openly with your child their adoption story. Adoption is such a beautiful gift; it's a story to be proud of. We are certainly open to sending photos and letters. Hannah loves taking pictures so we guarantee there will not be a shortage!
We are so excited to expand our family and cannot wait for Nora to have a sibling. Experiencing the world through the eyes of a child brings us happiness daily. We are most excited about sharing the little things, like reading bedtime stories, the refrigerator being covered in artwork and the excitement of Christmas morning. A child in our home will be encouraged and supported to explore their interests and talents. They will have our unconditional love always. We will provide education and guidance in all forms, most importantly teaching respect, kindness and a strong work ethic through our words and actions.
Randy is an elementary school teacher by trade. So many of the characteristics that make him a wonderful teacher, also make him a fabulous dad; he is a great listener, full of patience, and is fun! He even enjoys kid things like comics, cartoons, Star Wars, and video games. When Nora was eight months old, Randy transitioned into his current role of a stay-at-home dad. He cherishes his time with Nora. They enjoy going to the park, reading books, play dates with Nora's cousin Lila, swimming lessons and music class.
Hannah works in the accounting field and truly enjoys her career. The role she cherishes most in life is that of being a mom. In her free time she enjoys spending time together as a family, taking our dog for morning walks, cooking, and taking pictures. She also enjoys kayaking at the cabin, hiking, and spending time in the garden. She is cheerful, loving, and has a great sense of humor. She possesses so many wonderful characteristics that make her a great mom.
We are a very active family and young at heart. We love to travel, explore new places and experience different cultures. We cannot wait to include another child in all of our adventures. We imagine your child being best buddies with our daughter Nora and our dog, learning to swim at the cabin and being spoiled by grandparents. Our family and friends are so supportive and cannot wait for us to adopt again.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about us. We hope this letter has given you a glimpse into who we are and what we have to offer your baby. With love,
Randy & Hannah
