Ryan & Margaret Lee
We are very excited to adopt a child! Thank you for taking the time to view our profile and for considering us as potential parents. Becoming parents is something that we have dreamed of for a long time and it is not something that we will take for granted. We can't wait to celebrate this child's unique personality, to support them as they grow, and to begin creating fun memories as a family.
Education We Will Provide
We both believe that education is a major influence in a child's life. Margaret Lee works as a preschool teacher at a wonderful nursery school located at our church. We are fortunate to live within walking distance to an excellent math and science elementary school. We also have several strong private schools in our town. We recognize that what works for one child may not work for all children and think it is very important that we are involved and responsive to our children's needs. So, while we have some thoughts about where we might send our children to school, we understand that these might change based on our child's individual needs. We want to provide our children with an education that is a good fit for them and prepares them to succeed in the world and contribute as adults.
Additionally, we know that a lot of learning should happen outside of school. We are both avid readers and hope to pass on this love of books to our children. We look forward to reading aloud to our children at bedtime. We are excited to help our children grow through after school activities, summer camp, and lazy afternoons where they have time to imagine and play in our backyard. We also want to show our children the amazing world outside of their hometown. We are excited to travel with them and to experience other cultures and hear other languages in foreign countries. We also believe that children should learn to give back to their world, and we look forward to opportunities for them to volunteer in our community and through our church.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other
Ryan About Margaret Lee: Margaret Lee is the most amazing person I have ever known. She is honest, compassionate and a joy to be around. Margaret Lee has a unique ability to truly multi task. Margaret Lee is a preschool teacher and owns her own interior design firm, while still finding the time to be a good friend, caring sister and aunt, and loving wife.
Margaret Lee has a wonderful relationship with children. Her career as a preschool teacher is a natural fit. Hardly a day goes by where we do not encounter a former student or parent who is excited to see Margaret Lee. The holiday cards that cover our refrigerator are a testament to how loved she is by her students.
I am in awe of Margaret Lee's positivity and ability to make others happy. She has an innate skill in understanding what others are feeling. She truly cares for others and I know she will provide an unparalleled level of love and care for our future children. She is truly an inspiring person and an excellent role model.
Margaret Lee About Ryan: Ryan is one of the most caring, loving, and hard-working people I know. He is a natural born leader who possesses both confidence and great skill. Since I met him 14 years ago, I have witnessed his ability to quickly work his way up from entry level positions to one of leadership in several very different fields. He is the go to guy for friends and family for answers and help with just about anything. He is always happy to help with everything from car troubles and home repairs to computer fixes and business advice.
Ryan is an incredibly thoughtful person who goes out of his way to take care of those around him. He is a wonderful cook who loves experimenting with new recipes. He is especially thoughtful of friends and neighbors who may be experiencing a hard time and will go out of his way to make them homemade meals and desserts to show that he is thinking of them.
I greatly admire Ryan's fun-loving and caring nature when it comes to children. He is a wonderful uncle to all of our nieces and nephews. He is always thinking of fun things to do with them from "dinosaur egg" hunts and soda bottle rockets to simply tossing a football for hours on end. He is exceptionally patient and kind and truly enjoys the time he spends with them. I know he is going to be an incredible father.
We love where we live, and our location contributes to our lifestyle. In warmer months, we enjoy swimming at the beach and boating on the waterways. Once the weather cools, we love to explore our city on bikes. We love food and enjoy trying out the many restaurants in town and also having family and friends over for dinner.
Since purchasing our home, we have tackled all sorts of home projects on our own including painting, adding built-ins, gardening, and we always have fun decorating for the holidays.
We also enjoy traveling. Whether catching up with friends or family living in another city or exploring new cultures and languages in a different country, we feel travel offers us a chance to reconnect and also open our eyes to the larger world.
Our House and Neighborhood
Our neighborhood is very family friendly with winding sidewalks, shady trees, and large front yards. There are a lot of young families with children. The neighborhood is within walking distance to several restaurants and shops and is home to one of the area's best public elementary schools. There is a wonderful bike trail that runs through the neighborhood connecting us to a nearby playground, tennis courts, and more shops. The neighborhood association hosts fun gatherings throughout the year, including an Independence Day cookout and Halloween picnic and parade.
We bought our house and moved in almost six years ago. It is a brick cottage with a sunny front yard and a nice sized fenced-in back yard. Our favorite room in the house is the family room. It is a cozy space with a large, comfy sofa. It is open to the kitchen, which allows us to visit with one another while cooking meals. It is the room where we spend most of our time together, watching TV or just hanging out and talking. We love our home and neighborhood and are looking forward to raising a family here.
Our Extended Families
Ryan is an only child, but he loves getting together with his many cousins, some of whom are like siblings to him.
Margaret Lee has four sisters and has a close relationship with all of them. We enjoy being an aunt and uncle to eight nieces and nephews, and our refrigerator is covered with their drawings and photos. Every November, we all gather at Margaret Lee's parents' home for a fun-filled Thanksgiving celebration. This includes the annual s'mores roast, where we help our nieces and nephews toast marshmallows over the campfire. We can't wait to share moments like these with a child.
One of Margaret Lee's sisters lives in town with her husband and four children, and we see them every few days. We visit Margaret Lee's other sisters and their families several times a year and keep in touch through Facetime and phone calls.
Ryan's mother and Margaret Lee's parents also live in our town, and we see them often. Ryan's mother is excited to be a grandmother. Margaret Lee's parents adore all of their grandchildren, and they can't wait to welcome a new baby into their hearts.
From Us to You
Hi! Our names are Margaret Lee and Ryan. We are so thankful that you are taking the time to read our profile and for considering us as adoptive parents. We understand that this is a very difficult decision and we admire your strength and courage during this entire process.
We are high school sweethearts, who met at a mutual friend's house as teenagers and began dating shortly after. We continued to date for nine years before getting married in 2012. Over the past 15 years, our love for one another has grown and we have learned that we can depend on one another no matter what life has in store for us. We are extremely grateful to have each other to rely on during life's many ups and downs. We've experienced many challenges including career changes, health scares, the loss of family members, and infertility, and we have faced all of these trials together as a team. Having been together for so long has allowed us to learn how to comfort each other, how to solve problems together, and most importantly, how to make each other laugh in difficult times. We have built up a foundation of unconditional love and commitment necessary to give a child a stable and loving home to grown up in.
We have always wanted to become parents, and a few years into our marriage we decided to try to start a family. After trying for over a year and visiting with fertility specialists, we were told that we would be unable to have biological children. After much prayer and consideration, it was clear to us that we would build our family through adoption.
Our relationship is built on faith, love, trust, and laughter. We enjoy spending time together and with our friends and family. We like to travel, spend time on the water, and explore our city. During the week, we spend our free time relaxing, walking our dogs, cooking at home or trying out one of our city's many restaurants. We are very excited to start experiencing all of these things with our children.
We believe it is very important to show our children what a happy, healthy marriage looks like, and we always want our children to know how much love we have for each other and for them. We want them to learn to treat those around them with kindness and respect. Ryan is hard working, dedicated, and kind. Margaret Lee is compassionate, creative, and loves to be around people. We are best friends and we balance each other out and make a great team.
We know that the decision you are making is not one that you have taken lightly. We want you to know that our decision to become parents is not one that we have taken lightly either. We know that parenting is not always easy, but we are looking forward to all the joys and challenges that come along with it. We can't wait to bring a child into our home to share in all that life has to offer. We are excited about all of the big moments and milestones, as well as the day-to-day activities and experiences that go into raising a child. We are looking forward to writing letters to Santa and making Halloween costumes. We can't wait to have family dinners and read bed-time stories. We want you to know that we will love this child with all of our hearts. We want them to feel secure and know that they are loved to the moon and back.
We know the importance of family and believe in open and honest communication. If you decide to pursue adoption and choose us, we are open to sharing in this child's growth and experiences through pictures, email updates, and letters with keepsakes that mark important milestones in their life. We believe it is important to know who you are and where you come from and we will be very open with our child about their adoption story and any information that you provide to us. We want you to know that we will always have respect for you as the birth mother of our child.
