Lee & Jackie
We believe that adoption is an incredible journey and one that we are excited to be a part of. Thank you so much for viewing our profile! We have so much love, joy and laughter to share with a child and it would mean the world to us if you chose us to be your child's parents. We would love for you to consider us and we are excited for the adventure ahead!
What it Means to be a Parent
Being parents is something we have been praying for and wanted for a long time. We look forward to the journey and are excited to have a child in our lives. Jackie looks forward to teaching her child to read, play, dance, sing and just be silly and joyful. She loves seeing the look of amazement when a child figures out something new and the giggles from their pure joy! Lee is looking forward to teaching our child to fish, hike, camp, kayak and learn all about the world. He remembers how his Father and Grandfathers taught him so much and wants to be able to do that with his child. We believe that a child should grow up to have good morals and respect for others and also have many fun and amazing memories. We also believe a good education is a big part of a child's life so they may have a bright and successful future.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other
Jackie about Lee: Lee is honestly my very best friend. I love that he is always reading and learning new things about life and the world. He is always ready and willing to teach me and I can't wait to watch him teach our child all that he knows. I love that he is honest, caring, and dependable. His sense of humor is great and always has me laughing hysterically. His main goal in life is to always support and take care of his family. He works hard and loves to get outdoors and relax by camping, hiking, kayaking or fishing. These qualities along with many others will make him a wonderful Father.
Lee about Jackie: Jackie is very loving and kind. She always goes above and beyond when helping others. Over the years she has talked about the children she was a nanny for with such a bright light in her eyes. Watching her with her nieces and nephews is inspiring and makes me excited to see her with our own child. She is fun, laid back, smart and great at bringing a smile to those around her. The fact that she speaks to her family almost every day shows me just how important the people she loves are. I knew from the start that she would make a wonderful mother that will always put our child first and raise them well.
Favorite Vacation Spot
When it comes to family vacations we love anywhere that gets us out together for a bit! Beach trips with our families are always so much fun. Every year Jackie's father rents a beach house where we can all be together and have quality time. Lee's family lives near the beach and we spend long weekends there as well. Whether it's in the mountains, on a lake or river, or somewhere off the beaten path, we love to pack up and head out for long weekends. We may rent a cabin on the water to spend a few days relaxing and swimming or just camp out in tents in the woods. Our dog Beau is 16 months old and loved his first weekend camping! We love spending the day fishing or hiking and then cooking dinner on the fire and ending the night with music and S'Mores!
Our Extended Families
Family is a huge part of our lives. We get together for family events often and every year we take a beach trip with Jackie's family, and also a beach trip to Florida with Lee's family. We spend the vacation cooking, playing games, swimming in the ocean and going out to local restaurants. We both come from large close-knit families. Jackie's Mom was a stay-at-home mom and now both of her parents are retired and enjoy their days traveling or playing with their grandchildren. Lee's Mom and Stepmom are retired and love spending time with their grandchildren as well. In addition to our parents, we look forward to our siblings being a large part of our child's life. Lee has two sisters and two brothers. Jackie has two sisters. We have 7 nieces and nephews ranging from 7 months old to 11 years old. We love to play games with them, read to them, and watch them at sporting events or dance competitions. We are all excited for them to have another cousin to play with and teach life's lessons to. Some of our favorite memories growing up were the great times we spent with our cousins. Everyone is so overjoyed and supportive of our adoption plan. They look forward to spoiling our child with lots of love, fun, hugs and kisses! Our Golden Doodle Beau is also very excited to have a friend to play with!
Our House and Neighborhood
We live on a quiet, dead end street in a new development. Our home is a beautiful 4-bedroom brick house with a fenced in back yard. Our favorite part of our home is the open floor plan and large windows with natural light. Set in a quiet area beside farmland yet still close to everything you would need.
Our neighborhood has many annual events; such as a huge Halloween parade and hay ride through the area, and Back to School Bash at the end of summer. We also have a brand new clubhouse down the block with a pool, splash pad for children and gym.
We chose this area because of the top rated schools. All of the schools from Elementary to the High School are on one road making it easy to get to them. There is also a new children's park down the street beside a dog park that we take Beau to play!
From Us to You
Hi! Thank you so much for taking the time to read about us! We can only imagine the thoughts and feelings running through your mind at this point. So we will try to keep this interesting for you!
We have been married 4 years and about 2 years ago started discussing adoption as we were having trouble conceiving. After lots of thought and prayer, God has shown us we are ready to start this journey to adoption!
Ever since Jackie was a little girl, she always dreamed of being a mother. After being a Nanny for two different families over the years it only became more of a dream. Just spending those years watching the children grow, laugh and learn new things was an amazing experience for her. To this day she is still in contact with each of the families and the little ones still want her to be their "Miss Jackie.”
Jackie is a homemaker, so most of her days are filled with keeping the house clean, running errands, yard work, playing with our dog Beau, or shopping and lunches with friends. Jackie feels so lucky and grateful that Lee's job allows her to stay at home. He has worked for the Federal Government for the past 14 years and will continue there for the duration of his career. Jackie’s mother, Alice, was a stay-at-home mom until she was in High School and Jackie really enjoyed her being around for her and her two sisters.
On weekends we like to take the boat out and go fishing, camping or kayaking. Lee and our dog Beau love to hike as well and we cannot wait until there is a little one to come along! Jackie goes when it's a short hike but they like to do a lot of miles sometimes!! We get to take long weekends and either rent a cabin on the water or just camp out. Best part of that is the quiet and cooking over the campfire. Oh, and the S'Mores! Our dream is to one day own a cabin or small house on a lake to vacation at.
Growing up, family dinners together were very important. Jackie’s family would have Friday pizza night and hang out and watch movies. Lee's family always had campfires in their backyard with grilling and music. Sundays were church in the morning and then out to eat. We also go every year on big family vacations to the beach and rent a beach house on the water. One with Jackie’s family and then another Lee’s family. Jackie’s younger sister just had a baby, Emeline, on Christmas day so this past beach vacation was so much fun! Especially watching her play with Jackie’s 7-year-old nephew, Devon. Sometimes it seems like we're always on a vacation! These are traditions we want to continue with our family.
We moved to this neighborhood because of the top schools and clubhouse with gym and pool (with a splash pad for kids!). Beau and Jackie will go for walks or to Starbucks for a Chai Tea Latte and a Puppaccino for Beau! He loves car rides and doggy play dates with a neighborhood dog in our fenced back yard.
We are not the best at taking pictures of ourselves, but have a thousand of Beau and our nieces and nephews. We plan to share many pictures with you along with emails and visits if that is what you would want. Our plan is to be open and honest with our child about his/her adoption and would be glad to be as open as you would like. Both of our families are supportive about our adoption plan and are so excited to have another little one to spoil and cuddle!
Thank you again for taking the time to learn more about us! We will be praying for you and your journey, whatever that may be.
