Why We Chose Adoption

Our Beautiful Family

Being parents is the biggest Blessing in our lives. We can think of nothing more rewarding than to fill a child's life with love and happiness by celebrating their triumphs and supporting them through hard endeavors. Family is our number one priority and being able to add to our family is the most precious gift that could ever be given to us.

Jonalynn has wanted to be a mom her whole life. Eugene made Jonalynn a bonus mom when they married with their beautiful, smart and kind little girl, Avery, from his previous marriage. Avery is beyond excited to be a big sister and teach our future child how to be kind and loving. Since our marriage, we have struggled with having children together. We completed two rounds of IVF and heartbreakingly lost our little angels with no reason as to why about two years ago. We prayed about what to do and if we could go through the possible loss again down the road of fertility treatments. We decided that what we really wanted was to just welcome another child into our lives in any way that we possibly could. We stopped praying for a child to be under Jonalynn's heart and instead for a child to be in our hearts! It was then that we turned to adoption and we are so very excited to be on this journey. We feel that adoption will make it possible to not only add to our family but to complete our family!

Our Family Traditions

Fresh Doughnuts at the Fall Festival

We have many family traditions. In the summer months we frequent amusement parks, pools and day trips to have picnics and go camping. We always put in a garden and plant tons of flowers around the house. We love go to the Strawberry Festival and get sweet treats. In the fall, we carve pumpkins that we grow in our yard, and we always attend the local attraction nearby that has a corn maze, hayrides, and pig race. In the winter, we go sledding, make snowmen, and donate toys and clothes to those in need. At Christmas, we start the season by cutting down our fresh tree and decorating every room in the house. We make cookies, have reindeer food to sprinkle around the house for Santa, and we have a tradition of hiding "the pickle" in the tree. The person to find it gets extra good luck. We also celebrate Jonalynn's mother's life every year on her birthday by going to her favorite spot, having a picnic with her favorite foods and releasing a lantern in her honor.

Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other

Jonalynn About Eugene: Eugene has a heart of gold and tries his hardest in every aspect of relationships by giving, giving, giving. He is very funny and outgoing, and I have never met anyone who did not like him. He is an amazing husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He would do anything to help those he loves and is the biggest supporter of us. Whether it is a good luck message written on the chalkboard or a kiss with a "good morning beautiful," he makes my world a better place. To see Eugene as a father and the love he has makes me fall in love with him even more every day and I can't wait to see him with our future child. Eugene is my rock emotionally and I respect his work ethic and how he provides for and takes care of our family.

Eugene About Jonalynn: Jonalynn is my driving force every single day. She makes my world go round by knowing that she is there for me in every way at the end of stressful or great days. The love and bond that she has for Avery shows me that there is no better mother. Jonalynn is the most caring person I have met, and she makes me a better person. As a team, we have the personality that most only dream of together. Treating people with respect and kindness is a must in all aspects of her life, especially when your child is watching closely to learn and build their own foundation for their future. We have a rock solid marriage and family.

Our House and Neighborhood

Home Sweet Home

We live in a sweet little town outside of the city. We own a small farm on four acres that we lovingly call "Sweet Acres." Our home has four bedrooms and two bathrooms. We have a bunny (Lilly), two cats (Petunia and LuLu), chickens and ducks (all named of course). We also have a Lab named Emmett and a Labradoodle puppy named Mabel.

We love gathering in our family room to watch movies, have pizza Fridays, and have dance parties. We all love to cook and enjoy family dinners every night together that always start with a prayer of thankfulness. We end our prayers at night to include a future child to enter our lives.

Our Baby Farm Animals

We are always outside enjoying our property that includes a large garden, flower beds and paths in the woods to do scavenger hunts. We have lots of bonfires and tent in our backyard on warm summer nights. We are members at the local community pool and utilize the park on a regular basis for picnics, walks and playground fun. We also love attending the local events held in town such as light up night, homecoming parades and festivals. We have a movie theater and ice cream shop downtown as well that we frequent together for milkshakes and sundaes. Eugene is also a member at the Sportsman Club and we all enjoy fishing there whenever possible. We also attend the local church in town.

Our Extended Families

With Grandpa Jack

We have close relationships with our families. Jonalynn sadly lost her mother to cancer five years ago and is grateful that she was able to spend time with and care for her. Her father, Jack, is highly involved in our lives and is our biggest supporter in every way. He lives about a half hour away and is retired so he is able to take our daughter Avery to school in the mornings for their one on one time of singing in the car and doing seek and finds. Jonalynn's sister lives in Oregon but visits several times a year to join us for festivals and family vacations.

Derby Hats at Home With Grandpa

Eugene's mother and stepfather live close by and enjoy day trips with our family to our local ice cream shop and shopping center. He has a younger brother and sister as well who live close and we all enjoy going to our local museums and baseball games together. We are very close to Eugene's aunt whom we visit in Kentucky several times a year which always includes the local apple orchard and amusement park!

We both also have extended family who live very close by who can't wait to welcome our future child with loving arms. We have tons of family traditions that include pumpkin carving, random acts of kindness, getting a live tree at Christmas, coloring Easter eggs, and decorating for every single holiday. We cannot wait to share these traditions with our future child!

From Us to You

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your consideration of blessing us with the greatest gift. We pray that you find comfort in knowing that the precious baby given to us will be loved beyond measure, cherished for life, and raised with nothing but support and unconditional love as a part of our family. We also want you to be reassured that we respect your decision in this process and have an abundance of admiration for your courage and strength in wanting what you feel is best for your child.

Our names are Jonalynn and Eugene. We have known each other since junior high school and have reconnected, married and could not be happier in our rock solid marriage. We have been married for over three years and we have a beautiful daughter named Avery who is eight years old from Eugene's previous marriage. We have shared custody of her and she is super excited to be a big sister! We have a strong family unit that is built on love not biology. We will love her and our future child from you with all we have as our own and without hesitation.

Together, we sadly have had infertility struggles and completed two rounds of IVF. The second round, we heartbreakingly lost all three beautiful angels that God blessed us with for a very short time. Although our path has changed we are continuing on our journey towards adding to our family. That journey is on the beautiful road of adoption.

We live on a sweet little four acre farm. It is the home of our dreams and we are so excited to open our doors and hearts to a new little addition. Our home is filled with love, laughter and an abundance of support from us and our family members.

Jonalynn is a high school Special Education Teacher and Eugene is a Gourmet Chef who currently works in a government job with the Housing Authority. We love to craft, fish, go camping, and fill our free time with fun experiences for our daughter and ourselves. We frequently go to the park, museums, and are always on the hunt for a seasonal adventure. We love hay rides and pumpkin patches in the fall, winter sleigh rides and Christmas cookies, spring flower picking and summer water parks. Whether we are camping in our own backyard, planting flowers, or making a fort in the living room out of blankets, we do so with smiles and lots of laughter. Most of all, we try to fill our time making memories and taking a lot of pictures to remember the treasured days we have.

We promise not only to you but ourselves to give unconditional love, support, and encouragement through all of life's endeavors for our child. We vow to raise our child to be kind in his/her every action, to speak with honesty in all words, and to love with all of his/her heart.

We wholeheartedly agree to send letters and pictures to you to show how he/she is growing, thriving and happy in his/her life with us. We vow to always be open and honest and available for any questions or concerns our child may have to help ensure that he/she knows they were brought into our family by birth parents who love them and adoptive parents who love them! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering us as parents as it will be our biggest adventure and Blessing!

With all of our love, respect, and admiration,

Eugene & Jonalynn
