Leisure Time

Go Cavs!

We enjoy our leisure time as much as we can. Anytime the weather permits, we try to spend our time outside of the house. We love taking walks with our dog, Chichi, hiking, or bicycling through our neighborhood and the nearby parks. We also spend a lot of time with the family cooking out and boating on the lakes and rivers close to us.

Rosalea's favorite leisure activity is going to the movies. We have seen hundreds of movies the past couple years and Jay has now learned a lot about Sci-Fi related topics!

Jay loves to listen to music, cooking, and watching sports. Our favorite teams are the Cleveland Cavaliers (Go Cavs!) and the New York Giants and we currently have a bedroom decorated as a sports room for both teams. Every year we have made it to at least one Cavs game to enjoy the excitement of it all and to try to get Lebron James to notice us!

Cultural Diversity

The Crystal Blue Waters of Puerto Rico

We are both Puerto Rican and come from very diverse families. To us, Puerto Rican actually means a blend of race, culture, and languages including African, Taino, and Spanish. When we look at our families we see a melting pot of cultures that continues to grow. We know the importance of knowing your heritage and ethnicity and learning about your culture in order to pass on traditions. We are a bilingual speaking family and celebrate and embrace all aspects of our identity. Our interracial extended families have taught us both to be open minded and accepting of everyone. In addition to our family and friends, this child will grow up in a very diverse community and will fit in perfectly with many role models of any background to look up to. We will also engage in any opportunity to incorporate this child's heritage through travel, food, books, and events.

Our Adventures

Jay Found a Waterfall During a Family Hike

We consider ourselves a very adventurous couple. We love to travel and see and learn about different places, people, and food. Rosalea loves learning the history of all the places we go. As a couple, we love trying new foods and are constantly looking for a new experience. When we go on long hikes we go off the beaten path and run into beautiful things like waterfalls and lookouts. We just recently took a ski trip and ended up taking snowboarding lessons. It was a blast and we can't wait to try it again. We consider being adventurous a way to learn about life and grow as an individual as well as a family unit. We would like to teach a child to push themselves not to be afraid to try new things and explore their limitations and the world around them. We will always encourage a little one to explore.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We recently purchased and remodeled our first home, conveniently located near our family. It is a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath ranch with a huge fenced-in backyard in a suburban family oriented subdivision.

Our subdivision is known for family activities. You can tell the seasons within our neighborhood with Easter egg hunts, Trick or Treating, haunted houses, Christmas displays with many lights, and kids running free in the summer time.

Our neighborhood and community is very diverse with children of all ages and races from a variety of family structures. Our small town provides lots of family activities like water parks, hiking trails, open fields, jungle gyms, and gathering centers. We also are a riverfront community, which allows us to enjoy water activities like kayaking, fishing, boating and more.

We think this is a wonderful place to raise a family and we cannot wait to share it with a child of our own!

Our Extended Families

Rosalea's Family

We both come from large extended families that live all throughout the United States including Puerto Rico. At least once a year we make it a point to travel and visit with Rosalea's very large immediate family. Rosalea's mom is looking forward to doting over her ninth grandchild!

Jay's Family

We live closest to Jay's immediate family that all live in our subdivision. We usually gather at Jay's mom's house which is only 14 houses down the street. We find excuses to get together about once a week. Whether it be for remodeling, baking cookies, playing games, or just to be together. We are constantly involved in someone's activities like tumbling competitions and dance performances. Jay's parents await with excitement to babysit future grandchildren. Chichi, our four legged child is also excited to snuggle up to a new family member.

Everyone is so excited and supportive of our adoption plan and can't wait to love on the new bundle of joy with bunches of hugs and kisses.

From Us to You

Thank you for reviewing our profile! We hope that you got a sense of the happiness, playfulness and love that we share between us. We know that as you look through these profiles, you are faced with a tough decision and are trying to pick the people that will best care and love for your child.

We can tell you that for 3 years we have been in a wonderful marriage. We actually met 7 years ago at work and were friends right away. After a couple of years, Jay finally realized that we could be more than friends and we have been very much in love since then. When we first started dating, we both knew we wanted to start a family and we have been pursuing that dream ever since.

Our everyday life is very stable and routine oriented as we like to keep our home comfortable and cozy and we both feel that brings out the best in all people. Currently we both work as retail managers for major retailers but we look forward to changing that very soon! Rosalea plans to start her new career as a full-time, stay-at home-mom upon the arrival of a little one. We both value the importance of having a consistent full-time parent at home and have prepared ourselves in order to make that change right away. We are both very excited for this big change and can't wait to begin this new chapter. Speaking of being excited, our families are so excited to meet the newest addition. They are all ready offering clothes, cribs, parenting tips, babysitting and more!

As for the two of us, we will graciously accept the responsibility of raising your baby in a happy, loving home where they will receive everything they need. They will be encouraged to learn and develop many different skills in order to become the individual he or she chooses to be in life. We promise to not only love and protect your baby, but we will teach them how to love, care, respect, and enjoy life to the fullest.

We cannot tell you how grateful we are that you are considering us to be the parents of your child. We want to assure you that your baby will hear their story over and over again as they grow up and you will always be portrayed in a positive light. We both know that it is very important to know where you come from in order to develop into the person you want to become. We will share photos and letters about their accomplishments and adventures with you and gather and share information you provide to us with them as they get older. They will know that their birth mom is a very strong woman who loved them so much that you selflessly decided for us to be their parents. And we will remind them of how much we want and love them every single day.

Thank you again for considering us. We know that you will make the right choice for your child.

With love and respect,

Rosalea & Jay
