Jason & Kim
Our home is filled with lots of love, kindness, happiness, and laughter. We just ache for that one missing part. We have so much love to give, and we hope that our dream of parenting will come true. We admire your strength and courage, and wish only the best for you and your child. We feel honored to be given this opportunity and hope to talk to you someday.
We love to live in the moment. During the week, we both work full time. After work, we always come home to have a family dinner. Whether it is just the two of us or we’re with family and friends, we believe eating dinner together is very important. After dinner, we like to stay active. We either take walks with Lily on the golf course (in the neighborhood), head to Rec Center (where there is a gym, trails, playground, baseball/soccer/football fields, etc.), spend time in the backyard, sit around the fire pit, or just enjoy the serene patio (talking, reading, or listening to music).
On the weekends, we have a lot of fun. We rarely sleep in because we are too busy shopping and touring the city's weekend markets to gather fresh food for the week. We also like to go to concerts, sporting events, hang out with family and friends, have cookouts, and attend special events. One of our favorite things is to spend time at Jason's parents' summer home on a campsite where we fish, play Bingo, go on hayrides, walk trails, and just have fun! We absolutely cannot wait to have a child join us in all of our activities!
Our Favorite Vacation Spot
We love Cape May, New Jersey, and enjoy going there every summer and staying at one of the many, historic hotels. Cape May is a quaint and family-oriented vacation spot. It is filled with tons of activities, especially ones for children. We love to soak up the sun, play mini-golf, shop at the boutiques, eat at the restaurants, explore on the dolphin and whale tours, and watch the sunsets.
Jason loves history and Cape May has a lot of historical buildings and sites that he loves to tour. We stayed at Congress Hall and were able to see reenactments of past presidents who were guests. We take strolls around the town to see the beautiful, Victorian houses. Kim enjoys relaxing during the summer (she is a teacher), so she loves to read a book on the beach. We get up early to watch the gorgeous sunrise, and make sure we are at the ocean at sunset.
As much as we love Cape May, there is a part of us that feels left out. There are tons of families playing games on the beach, visiting the arcade, participating in the weekly carnival, and having fun at the clam bakes. We feel like outsiders looking in and want nothing more than to return as a family of three. Then, our hearts would be filled with joy.
Education We will Provide
We highly value education, with Kim being a fourth-grade teacher. Kim has her master's degree, while Jason has his bachelor's degree.
Since Kim is a teacher, she is constantly learning new teaching strategies, so that all her students can succeed. We purchased our house in one of the best school districts, and plan on raising our child in a public school district with a lot of extra-curricular activities. We plan on being involved throughout the child's life, for instance, being a coach for baseball team or cheerleader squad, support the Parent/Teacher Group in their school, and volunteering as chaperones for field trips.
We have been saving for our future child's college, business, or trade school. We want him or her to choose their own profession and will support them in making their dreams come true.
Our Extended Families
We are lucky that ALL our family is located fifteen minutes away from our home. Kim's parents live in the house that Kim grew up in. They are both extremely loving, supportive, and generous, and are eager to become grandparents. Kim's brother is a salesman and travels the world. Kim also has a grandmother, who will be turning ninety in April. Kim's aunt and uncle always host the best Christmas dinners with lots of food, games, and prizes.
Jason's mom and step-dad are retired and still live in the house that Jason grew up in. They own a cabin on a campsite that hosts many family activities (fishing, swimming, crafts, games, camp fires, etc.). Unfortunately, Jason's dad recently passed away, but his step-mom lives 5 minutes away and visits often. Jason has two sisters, two brothers-in-law, two nephews, and a niece. We always have so much fun, when we are all together.
We love to get together with our families, friends, and neighbors. When they come over, we challenge each other on our putting green (located in our backyard), we play games like Corn Hole and Bocce, have cookouts, make S'mores on our bonfire, and watch sporting events.
We are so fortunate that we grew up within a loving, supportive family. We are anxious to extend the same love and support to our child. Our family, friends, and neighbors are 100% supportive with our decision to adopt.
Our House and Neighborhood
We purchased a home in a newer community in the suburbs, twenty-five minutes from downtown. Our three-bedroom house resides on a golf course. We have our own private, putting green and a large, beautiful, fenced-in backyard (with plenty of room to build a swing set, to play catch, etc.). Kim loves to cook in the gourmet kitchen, and Jason likes to relax and watch football in the sunken living room.
Our school district was voted one of the top-rated schools in the state. Since we value education, this was the main reason we moved to this community. We have been blessed to meet many new neighbors, whom we now call our friends. Most of our neighbors have younger children that we visit with, when we take our nightly walks with our dog, Lily Bear.
We are a three minute walk to the clubhouse, which contains a restaurant, pro-shop, and a community center with a beautiful swimming pool. They hold many events throughout the year, including pool parties, children-themed events, and concerts. Our home is the perfect place to raise a child. In the future, we hope our house is filled with the sounds of a child's footsteps and laughter.
From Us to You
We want to thank you for taking the time to get to know us, and are extremely grateful that you would possibly consider us as potential parents. As we are writing this letter, we cannot imagine the challenges that you will face for this selfless and courageous decision. We admire your strength, and can promise you that your child will live their life surrounded by love, respect, guidance, education, and laughter. We both want the same things for your child, which is having the best life possible.
Our names are Jason and Kim and we have created a beautiful and successful life together. We are both hard working and extremely motivated, and we seem to have it all, a loving and happy marriage, a beautiful home, an adorable dog, Lily Bear, but the reality is we ache and feel empty because we cannot fulfill our dream of becoming parents. We have learned that sometimes sad and challenging times can be turned around for the best of times.
We met in fourth grade! Unfortunately, Jason moved away in fifth grade. Fast forward, our friend randomly decided to set us up. She gave Jason Kim’s number, and he called the same day. After talking on the phone and getting out old yearbooks, we realized that we attended the same school. We decided to meet and have been inseparable ever since.
We feel very blessed that both of us work in professions that give us financial stability. Kim was able to achieve her dream job as a fourth grade teacher more than fifteen years ago in a thriving school district. Being an educator, allows her to keep up with the state's curriculum and standards, and she is able to differentiate her instruction to meet the needs of all her students. Jason is employed with Verizon and has been there for more than thirteen years. Working for Verizon allows him to keep up with all of the technology that the world has to offer. Sometimes we feel like we are the "Jetsons" with all our unique and fancy gadgets!
Education is one of our top priorities. We moved into a school district that is recognized and ranked number one for its education and safety. We can't wait to go on field trips, attend sporting events, coach, volunteer, etc. We will provide a nurturing home with academic support. We have saved for their college; however, we will support their dream no matter what their choice may be.
We love our life together, and can't wait to go on the journey of life with your child. We promise your child will know their adoption story. We will make sure he or she knows that you are making our dreams come true, by making your selfless sacrifice. We promise you that your child will be surrounded by love, not just from us, but our family and friends, every day of their lives. We promise to send pictures and letters. We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for even considering us for this precious gift. We wish you peace while making this difficult decision, and we will never forget how special and amazing you are!
We can only imagine the tremendous amount of stress that you have been under. If you would like to learn more about us or have any questions, please contact us. You are an amazing, strong, and selfless person. We have had wonderful blessings in our lives and wish the same for you.
