John & Ashley

We admire your courage and selflessness in this decision. We hope you find comfort in knowing that your sacrifice means the world to us. We have dreamt of starting a family since before we were married, but we cannot do that without you. We are a fun-loving, adventurous couple who loves to travel and play outdoors, and we cannot wait to have a child to share these experiences with!

Our Lifestyle

Enjoying the Art Museum with John's Mom

It is important for us to maintain a healthy balance between work, play, and relaxation. After a typical work day, we enjoy cooking dinner together and we make it a priority to sit at the table without distractions while we eat. We use this time to catch up, unwind, and enjoy time together. After dinner, we like to exercise or walk our dogs around the neighborhood. Then, we snuggle up and watch our favorite shows. There is nothing more relaxing than putting on sweats and watching a funny show together! On the weekend, we love to spend time outdoors. We hike, swim, watch sports, play golf, take our dogs for walks, and shop. We also enjoy going to the movies on the weekends. John is a movie buff, and Ashley loves the popcorn!

As often as we can, we travel and spend time with our families. Making memories is very important to us. Life is short, so we try to make the most of each day. We look forward to creating new memories with a kiddo!

Fun Facts About Us

Trivia Night Winners!

• We love animals! We have two dogs and a cat. Ashley would love to live on enough land to have goats someday!

• We love to go to Trivia Nights and recently won first place in "The Office" trivia!

• We have a goal to visit all 50 states within the first 10 years of our marriage. We have already visited 13 states!

• We love being silly and having fun! We cook dinner together most nights, and that often turns into dance parties in the kitchen!

• Before we got married, John wanted Ashley to watch all of the Harry Potter and Star Wars movies, but he didn't expect that she would end up loving them all too!

• We are huge fans of the show "FRIENDS". Our cat is named after a character and the cake topper at our wedding was a quote from the show. "He's Her Lobster" because lobsters mate for life!

• We went to high school together, but did not really know each other. John's brother married Ashley's cousin's best friend, which led us to reconnect 10 years after school.

• On our Honeymoon, we rented a sailboat and went out without an instructor. We got stuck out in the water and had to have a local teen help us get back to shore.

• John proposed to Ashley in the middle of a concert while our song was playing! He was so nervous he would lose the ring in the crowd!

Why We Chose Adoption

When Ashley was 21, she was diagnosed with premature ovarian failure. Because of this, Ashley learned that she did not create eggs, so getting pregnant would require an egg donor, and even then, the chances were slim. At that time, Ashley was not looking to start a family, but she began researching adoption. 7 years later when Ashley met John, she shared with him her plans to adopt a baby after marriage and he was so excited. Several of John's friends are adopted, and he always felt a strong desire to adopt a child, as well.

We tried fertility treatments for a year. After two miscarriages and a lot of heartbreak, there was no doubt in our mind that adoption was the plan we were meant to pursue. Having ten years to learn about adoption, Ashley is so excited to start a family with John in this way. We look forward to the day that we receive a call that we have been selected to parent a child, which would make our biggest dreams come true!

Our Extended Families

Ashley's Family

We both have large families who we see on a regular basis and they are very excited and supportive of our adoption journey. Ashley is very close with her mom, her aunt, her cousin, and her cousin's 3 kids. Additionally, her brother has two kids who are excited to have a cousin! Ashley's family is very active. We're always on the go, playing with the kids outside, and cooking huge meals! Ashley's cousin has a huge play room with toys, games, air hockey, foosball, and more, so on weekends and during holidays, that's where you'll find the kids and the adults!

John's Family

John's family is also very close. Growing up, John and his older brother formed a relationship that led them to become best friends in adulthood. Ashley also considers their sister-in-law her best friend. They have 3 kids who we absolutely adore! As they grow older, it's been so fun for John to relive his childhood with Star Wars toys and Harry Potter books! John's dad is a preacher and his mother is a yoga teacher. They are both such kind people with big hearts who make awesome grandparents! Our favorite thing to do with John's family is travel, especially beach trips to North Carolina!

We are blessed with big, loving families and everyone is so thrilled to add one more kiddo to love!

Our House and Neighborhood

Home Sweet Home

We live in a quaint yet thriving community nestled between the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas. Our town is quirky and fun, but also flourishing because one of the country’s largest companies is headquartered here! Additionally, the school district in our town is ranked the best in the state. There are always so many fun things to do, especially for kids! One of our favorite annual events is a city-wide block party, complete with bounce houses, funnel cakes, and live music! We also love our farmer's market, not only for the fresh fruits and veggies, but also because it's a great chance to meet others from the community.

Our Neighborhood Park

Our home is located in a golf course neighborhood. We have a great park for kids and a kickball field! We love our neighborhood because it's full of young families who have become some of our closest friends! Our neighborhood is just outside of town, so it feels peaceful but we're close enough to all of the fun our town has to offer! We also live near a lake and we enjoy boating with our neighbors throughout the summer.

Our home has three bedrooms and an office, where John works from home every day. We love to hang out in our living room by the fire. We have a big backyard with plenty of room for a swing set and a trampoline! We love to maintain our flower and vegetable gardens each year and we take pride in making our yard look great!

From Us to You

We are honored that you are taking the time to get to know us. We have so much respect for you and we always will, no matter what. We are grateful that you love your unborn child so much that you are willing to consider an adoption plan for him or her. We are in awe of your selflessness! We hope that learning more about us will give you peace of mind as you consider adoption.

We knew before we were even married that having biological children was next to impossible for us due to a medical diagnosis. We began researching adoption while on our honeymoon but opted to try fertility treatments for a year first. After two miscarriages and other set-backs, we realized that we were meant to have an adoption journey all along. We have longed to have a child for years, and we cannot start our family without you.

If chosen, we vow to love your baby unconditionally, and to provide him or her with a fun, structured, and encouraging environment. We also vow to send photos to you and exchange emails regularly. We are open to creating a relationship that is comfortable for everyone. We want the child to not only know his or her adoption story, but to feel proud of it. We want the child to know how much their birth family loves them.

We went to high school together, but did not start dating until 10 years after. When we first started dating, we lived three hours apart. Since we did not see each other much, all of our dates were mini adventures! We went to concerts, we camped, and explored each other's cities. We dated for three years before getting married, and we've been married for two years. Our favorite thing to do together is travel! We have a goal of hitting all 50 states in the first 10 years of our marriage. We know having a little one along for our future travels will make it even better!

Our families are so excited and supportive of our adoption journey. While this will be our first child, he or she will be joining a combined family with eight children, ranging from six months to ten years old. Our nephews and cousins cannot wait to have another friend in the family! We grew up in the same small town, so our families have always known each other, which makes for one big, happy family!

We have been looking forward to becoming parents since before we got married. We envision building sandcastles on the beach, running around our neighborhood park, reading bedtime stories, kissing boo-boos, building forts in the living room, hosting slumber parties, and watching our child grow through each stage of life. Even when life is difficult, we will be there to help our child through break-ups, tough days, and all the challenges of adolescence and beyond. We hope to have two children eventually so that they can always have a built-in best friend. Raising a child is a life-long commitment, and we are eagerly awaiting this next phase of our lives.

Again, we admire your strength more than you can imagine! If chosen, we look forward to creating a relationship with you and raising your child in a loving and fun home.

Much love,

John & Ashley
