Our Adventures

Fun Family Hike

One of our most favorite activities to do as a family is to go camping! We love to unplug and just be with each other. We started camping with just a tent and the two of us. We continued our love of camping after we had our children and now have a camper and enjoy taking it on long trips, but also short trips for just a weekend away. Some of our most memorable camping trips include the Grand Canyon, Arches National Park, and Goblin Valley in Utah.

We have treasured memories of camping with our children. Eric’s favorite camping past time is exploring and hiking. We always try to camp somewhere new, so there is a new adventure waiting for our family to experience. Bobbi’s favorite moments of any camping trip include family meals at the picnic table and time around the campfire watching the children’s smiles as they roast marshmallows for s’mores. The children enjoy playing at the beach and building sandcastles. We have found that our children are exposed to new and exciting experiences every time we leave on a camping trip. We enjoy exploring State and National parks during the day and relaxing as a family at the campsite playing games in the evening. We enjoy being active and sharing our love for the outdoors with our family.

Cultural Diversity

Being in the Army has provided us the ability to see firsthand many different cultures throughout the U.S. and the world. We believe that gives us a chance to experience many different traditions and immerse ourselves in different cultures. Throughout our adventures, we have met friends from many different backgrounds and ethnicities. What we have learned is that no matter what country, language, or socio-economic background people are genuinely good people and are trying to do the best they can for themselves, their families, and their communities.

The Military has provided an excellent platform for us to understand and learn new cultures, and even celebrates them regularly. The military often holds celebrations which include guest speakers or book readings at the library for members of the community to understand a culture better. Examples of these celebrations include Black History month, Hispanic heritage month as well as Women’s History Month. These activities have allowed us to teach our children all about other cultures and to experience new and exciting things.

Our Family Traditions

Putting an Ornament on the Jesse Tree

The Christmas season brings the most significant traditions for our family. We spend the whole month celebrating with our Jesse tree. The Jesse tree tells the story of Jesus's roots. On December 1st, we read the first scripture reading to start advent and tell the story of Jesus' birth. Each day we open a bag with an ornament, a treat and an activity for the children. We read from scripture and hang that day’s ornament on the tree. We have made a special tree to hang just these ornaments on and the children take turns hanging the ornament. The ornament hanging has become their favorite part, as well as ours. It is a beautiful scene to witness, the excitement in our children’s voices and actions as they run over to hang the ornament on the tree after learning a new part of Jesus’s life. We do crafts through-out the month and enjoy spending time with friends and family. Through our time together celebrating Christmas during the entire month of December, our children have learned that Christmas is a time to spend with family celebrating Jesus’s birth and not just for gifts.

Our Extended Families

Our Army Friends Are Our Family

We have the privilege of growing our extended family every time we move to a new military station. Most military families are away from their families, and living in a military community gives us the opportunity to include our neighbors as part of our extended family. We have built friendships throughout our time in the military that will last forever.

We do have the opportunity to travel home several times a year as well as have family come to visit us. Some of our fondest memories of visiting our extended family is watching the boys play with their cousins. Bobbi’s sister has five children, and Eric’s brother has two kids. Our boys enjoy spending time with their cousins. A trip home often includes time at the water park, rock hunting at the beach and lots of time playing outside. Eric’s mom enjoys reading the boys stories, going on adventures with them and building Legos. Bobbi’s dad will always make time to give the boys rides on the lawn tractor.

Story Time with Grandma

We often travel home around the holidays, and we enjoy seeing all the Christmas Light displays throughout the city. There is one big display, which includes a visit with Santa, where every child gets a winter hat and a cup of hot chocolate.

Our House and Neighborhood

Home Sweet Home

Throughout our time in the military, we have had the opportunity to call several cities HOME. The Military does an outstanding job of making everyone feel at home no matter where you live. By living on a military installation, we can expose our family to a diverse community and support system. Our neighbors are just like family.

We live right down the street from several parks and recreation areas, including the community aquatics center which features an outdoor splash park and water slides. Our street is busy with kids all year long. During the summer, there are always kids riding bikes, walking dogs and playing at the park. During the winter the kids took advantage of the sledding hill across from the house. We have a fabulous library that hosts book readings, story time for the kids and even has space for kids to use their imagination and build using different tools. Our home has four bedrooms, and our favorite area is the open kitchen/dining/living room. It is where we spend time as a family, cooking, building Legos, & watching TV.

Neighborhood Park

Our Community host several events throughout the year that we attend with our neighbors and family. Some of our favorites include Fourth of July festivities with a fabulous fireworks display, fall festivals, and the annual Christmas Tree lighting. Santa Clause even visits the neighborhood handing out candy canes from a firetruck.

From Us to You

Our names are Eric and Bobbi. We cannot express how much we already admire you. We do not know your situation or trials you are facing, but we do know that the act you have shown is a selfless one. We would like to thank you for taking the time to learn about our family. If you select us to raise your child, we would be honored and raise him/her with unconditional love.

We grew up in a small town but didn't meet until high school. After meeting we were inseparable. We got married just 5 short years later. We have now been together for 18 years. We feel blessed to have found each other at such an early age. We have grown with each other in all aspects of life. We struggled for 8 years to have our first child and the pain of infertility weighted heavy on our hearts. After years of struggle and prayer, God blessed us with our first healthy boy. From early on in our struggles to have children we know that God had a plan for us and adoption. We have always wanted to grow our family through adoption and after having three wonderful sons we are ready to complete our family. We are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to be blessed again to welcome another child(ren) into our family.

We are honored that you are considering us as potential parents for your baby. We promise to provide a home filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Adoption is a beautiful way to bring a new child to our family, and we are open to developing a relationship with you to allow you to see your child grow. We will openly send photos and letters to you as a way for you to stay connected to your child.

We are so excited to expand our family and cannot wait to add another child(ren). We are most excited about sharing the little things bedtime stories, giggles, and snuggles.

Bobbi’s role in the family is what she always wanted it to be, and that is to be a stay-at-home mom. She brings the kids to school, practices, and activities and loves her role as a mom. She is involved in our eldest son's PTO and leads a bible study at our church. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her family, quilt & crochet.

Eric is an officer in the Army. He has been in the Army for ten years, and he enjoys the experiences that military life has given us. He enjoys spending time with family camping and woodworking in his free time. Eric is a fantastic father that balances work life and family time perfectly.

We are a very active family. We love to travel, explore new places and experience different cultures. We cannot wait to include another child in all of our adventures.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about us. We hope that you can see a little bit of what our family is about by reading this profile.
