Our Leisure Time

Enjoying a Hike

We love doing things as a family. Most nights and weekends, you will find the three of us together.

We enjoy exploring our city and doing family friendly activities, many that we also experienced as children. We love going to our zoo, children's museums, parks, libraries and festivals in the area. We also enjoy going on hikes together. On the longer trails, Nico is more than happy to hitch a ride on Daddy's shoulders for a short break! Come Fall, going apple picking and to the pumpkin patch is a family favorite (we have as much fun as Nico!).

We love swimming and are very fortunate to have family and neighborhood pools available for us. Of course, we enjoy downtime together as well. We read nightly together and also enjoy curling up on the couch on the weekend with a movie and popcorn. On rainy days, we enjoy spending time at home doing art projects or playing with play doh together. Music is always prevalent in our home, accompanied by dance parties when the mood arises.

Jeremy enjoys cooking. Most Sundays in the winter you'll find him in our kitchen creating a delicious gourmet dinner with football on the TV. From homemade pasta to freshly baked bread, he always makes sure we're well fed. Kim enjoys being very active, which works out well having a rambunctious three year old in the house. She has completed over a dozen half marathons and enjoys going to new cities to run and explore 13.1 miles at a time.

Why We Chose Adoption

Looking for a Golf Partner

We feel very fortunate to have an amazing son Nicholas whom we affectionately refer to as "Nico." He is three-and-a-half and truly has a zest for life. He possesses an amazing vocabulary, enjoys learning about the world around him and most of all LOVES reading and playing. Nico is a very inquisitive boy who loves exploring new things and we do our best to provide him with as much exposure as possible. He regularly asks when he will get to be a big brother and has already been setting "baby toys" aside for his new baby sister or brother. He has a very sweet temperament and we are looking forward to seeing him in his new role as "big brother," as is he!

We knew when we married that we wanted to have multiple children. We both have siblings and believe while your parents help shape who you become, your siblings are just as important. We were very fortunate to become pregnant with our son quickly after getting married, however when we tried to become pregnant with a second child, we were not able to do so. After multiple failed attempts of IUIs and IVF, we decided adoption would be the path for us. Adoption is not foreign to us as we have friends who were adopted that we have grown up with, as well as friends whom have adopted children recently. To us, it doesn't matter how our family is brought together. What matters is that we love, respect, and honor each other, making us a strong family unit.

Fun Facts About Us:

  • Jeremy has been shooting photos and videos for over 22 years.
  • Kim has run over 15 half-marathons and her goal is to finish one in all 50 states.
  • Jeremy defeated the season three winner of America's Got Talent in a local karaoke contest by singing Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues."
  • Kim's family has been in the restaurant business for over 40 years and is a local favorite. For a time both Kim and Jeremy helped manage them.
  • Jeremy secretly loves writing poetry.
  • Kim can eat pizza at anytime even after a major meal of the day.
  • Jeremy can solve a Rubik's Cube in just over one minute.
  • Kim has mastered the perfect s'more and even has her "s'mores kit" basket ready to go at any time for our next bonfire.
  • Jeremy knows every word to "Despacito" in Spanish and sings it in the shower.
  • Kim knows a secret language called "OP" and taught Jeremy how to speak it as well. It has become particularly handy when discussing matters relating to Nico when he's in the room with us!

    Our House and Neighborhood

    Our Home

We live in a very family friendly neighborhood in a suburb west of the city. When we moved in, we quickly noticed the trampolines in nearly every backyard. Halloween is especially a fun evening where kids run home-to-home and parents hand out candy sitting around fire pits in their driveways. Our city hosts multiple festivals, farmers markets, fairs and other events within walking distance. Nico is always quick to find the kettle corn or snow cone stand at each one! We also enjoy going to the outdoor free concert series in the summers, sledding in the winter and playing at any number of the parks nearby on a nice day.

We have a two-story, four-bedroom home with a fenced-in backyard. We back up to the neighborhood pool and basketball court where you will always find many neighbor kids playing. Nico's favorite room in our home is the basement. It is a giant all-inclusive playroom containing a built-in slide, ball pit and Nico's Thomas the Train mini-coaster Santa gave him last year. When we moved in we did not have any children yet, but we did have nieces and nephews and we quickly became the favorite aunt and uncle of the family!

    Our Extended Families

    Annual Cousin Christmas PJ Pic

The bonds of our family are at the center of our lives. Throughout much of the week and on the weekends, we enjoy family dinners and activities with all of them! From the day we began dating, our families intertwined naturally and have only become closer throughout the years. From weekly "Spaghetti Monday" dinners to fun in the sun at "Maw Maw" and "Paw Paw's" pool, there truly isn't a time when our family connections are not emphasized.

    Apple Picking With Family

Being Italian and Jewish, family gatherings are always bountiful with food and loved ones. A tradition for Kim's side (which has become a favorite of Jeremy's), is spending every Christmas Eve and morning together. We enjoy playing games like Guesstures and Dominos together and if the weather cooperates, a soccer game may even commence in the front yard.

We are fortunate to have our entire extended family nearby. Kim's sister and brother-in-law live in our neighborhood and we spend multiple days a week together enjoying meals, playing in the yard, playgrounds and other child friendly activities. Jeremy's brother and sister-in-law, live less than 10 minutes away as do Kim's brother and all of the grandparents. Nico is fortunate to have all of his aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousins within a 10-15 minute drive. Our entire family is really looking forward to Nico having a brother or sister to share with our extended family!

    From Us to You

We cannot thank you enough for your consideration during one of the most stressful and difficult decisions of your life. We make a personal promise to you that we'll welcome your child with open arms, giant hearts, amazing family structure, true emphasis on life-long learning, and most importantly...100% unconditional love.

We count our blessings each and every day knowing how lucky we are to have our son, Nico, in our lives. Since his first day on the planet, our hearts grew and our lives changed in ways we could never have imagined. We live now for him; to provide him with the best opportunities to be the best person he can and enjoy the journey through childhood along the way.

Having both grown up with siblings, we wanted nothing more than to provide Nico with a best friend, confidant, and loving sibling at some point down the road; unfortunately the natural path failed us (as it does so many) and we proceeded with fertility assistance. After many failed attempts and lots of stress, it became very clear there was nothing more we could do through the natural route. We began to explore the possibility of expanding our family through adoption. We took the time to speak to many of our friends and acquaintances who had been through the process. Additionally, we have close friends who were adopted and wanted to hear about the impact it has had on their lives. Having the privilege to speak with them reinforced this was not only the right direction for us, but God's plan for our family as well.

We promise to share as much about you with your child as you are comfortable with and will keep you updated with his/her growth and development via pictures and letters. We believe having a mutually agreed upon openness is healthy and will allow your child to know how incredibly loved he/she is not only by us but by you as well.

To us, how a family comes together isn't what is important. What's important is simply being a family full of respect, openness, trust, compassion and most importantly lots and lots of love. We have so much more love to give and appreciate your consideration in possibly allowing us the opportunity to share it with your child.

After knowing each other for countless decades and having celebrated our five year wedding anniversary this year, we are more in love today than we ever have been! While we have been so fortunate to have found each other and had our son, we do not yet feel complete and wish Nico the blessing of becoming a big brother. The companionship of siblings is lifelong and one of the strongest bonds in the world.

There is nothing more in the world we hope for than to have the privilege to raise your child to be a loving and caring individual who is driven through deep compassion and love for others; an intelligent person who is confident due to educational structure, yet also possesses the humility to listen to what others have to say. Being parents already, we know and welcome the amount of time, resources, patience, responsibility and love that it takes to raise a child. Thank you for your consideration as you go through this very difficult and stressful chapter in your life. Know if you do choose adoption with us, your child will be hugged and kissed daily, laugh just as often and be loved unconditionally for the rest of his or her life.

    Sincerely,

    Jeremy & Kim
