Andrew & Becky

To us, being parents is a dream that is becoming closer to reality every day. We know the choice you are considering is likely one of the hardest of your life, but know that it is the most generous of acts that anyone can possibly do for a couple like us. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for considering us and allowing us to share with you a glimpse into our lives.

Our Favorite Vacation Spot

The Beautiful Mendenhal Glacier in Alaska

Traveling is a big part of our lives. On long weekends we love to travel to nearby cities to enjoy new activities, or we like to go camping and relax with friends and family. Becky loves planning our vacations, always trying to find a new destination that will provide many amazing memories for years to come. One of our favorite vacations was our cruise to Alaska. We experienced many fun and beautiful cities along the coast during this trip. Our next adventure will be an Alaska and Canada road trip to see more wildlife inland, and the natural beauty in this area.

Becky worked for a Disney travel company for many years, so another popular destination for us is the Disney theme parks. This is an experience that we have thoroughly enjoyed sharing with our friend's children. We loved seeing the excitement on their faces every day when visiting the parks and taking pictures with the characters. We can't wait to share this experience with our own children!

Our Leisure Time

Family Pic After Some Frisbee

One of our favorite things to do in our spare time is to have a game night with friends and family. We have a board game table, a pool table, and a dart board in our basement that is used all the time! We also love to go bowling, play a round of putt-putt golf, and go to the movies.

Andrew typically enjoys a weekend of fishing or hunting depending on the season. He likes to take the boat out to a nearby lake to fish on a regular basis. Because of his skill, we have an amazing fish fry during the summer! Andrew is a hands-on type of guy, always working on some type of project around the house or in the yard. One of Andrew's most enjoyed hobbies is disc golfing. We have many courses in our area, and he is a part of a local league that plays most of the year.

Becky spends much of her spare time volunteering in the community. She works at the local county history museum where she has been an executive board member for five years. She is also a head usher at two of the local theaters which host Broadway shows and big name celebrities. Being a school librarian, her greatest passion is learning and reading. You will always see Becky either reading a new book, or listening to an educational podcast.

Education We Will Provide

The Library Where Becky Works

Becky is an elementary school librarian, and because of this career choice we are very passionate about education. We strongly believe that from early in development, a child is listening, learning, and growing. It is so important to read to a child every day. A child's brain is like a sponge, and we look forward to sharing new things and working with them as they take it all in.

When our children are ready for pre-school, we have a fantastic school down the street. After that, they will continue their schooling in the district where Becky teaches. Having a mother as a teacher will be beneficial to our children in many ways. She will volunteer to help with school activities because she knows the importance of parent involvement, she will be close to the kids during the day and be at home with them during all school breaks, and will be able to understand and help them with what they are learning. Overall, we will strive to give our children the best education in school and at home that we possibly can.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We live in the suburbs of one of the largest cities in Nebraska. Our two-story house is just a few years old and has a large back yard that is waiting for a play-set and children! Our neighborhood is smaller than others in the area, which makes it easy to interact with the families around us. We have a large park just down the street and our home is within walking distance to an elementary school and a middle school.

One of the biggest events for families in our neighborhood is the annual Halloween party. Costumes, treats, and games for everyone! We also have quite a gathering for the Fourth of July each year with a children's bike parade, lots of food, and of course fireworks that each family pools together. What a show! We both love decorating our house for every holiday, both inside and out, to welcome our friends and family.

We absolutely love our community. It is home to one of the top zoos and aquariums in the country, has many museums geared towards children and education, and fabulous entertainment and festivals year-round. I love when friends bring their kids to visit and I can share with them all of the fabulous attractions in the area!

Being on the edge of town gives us that metropolitan feel as well as the country life. Our family also owns some farmland just thirty miles from our house, so a country getaway is easily enjoyed.

Our Extended Families

Becky & Her Mom

Family is a huge part of our lives. Most of Becky's family lives within an hour of us. She is an only child but was fortunate enough to grow up closely with many cousins. We are lucky enough to live right next door to Becky's mother. Her support in this process has been amazing, and we know she is looking forward to becoming a grandmother and spoiling our kids.

Family Christmas Eve

Andrew's older brother and his family live in the neighborhood right next to ours. Being so close to them has been wonderful for family gatherings and watching our niece grow up. Andrew's dad and other family live about three hours away, so we are able to visit them quite often.

In the last few years, we have both lost a parent. Becky's dad passed away just a few months after we were married, and Andrew's mom passed away a year later. We have faced these hard times by having such a strong relationship and amazing family and friend support. We know that both of our parents are looking down upon us and guiding us in this journey.

All of our family is excited and supportive of our adoption adventure. They cannot wait to be a part of the child's life and look forward to sharing their wisdom and love with them.

From Us to You

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us and considering us to be the adoptive parents of your child. We realize that the decision ahead of you will be one of the most difficult ones of your life, and you will be in our thoughts and prayers during this time. We admire your strength and love that you have for your child which shows in your decision to consider adoption. We hope that through this letter and our profile you can get a glimpse into our daily life and learn a little about us.

Andrew is from Kansas and Becky is from Nebraska. We met online almost five years ago. Andrew had just moved here to take some college classes, and was looking to meet some new people. We have now been married for a little over three years and live in a wonderful community in Eastern Nebraska. Andrew works as a contractor for real estate companies in the area. He loves what he does, and enjoys the flexibility he has. Becky is a school librarian in a small district just outside the metro area where we live. She loves teaching children and calls herself a "lifelong learner" saying that we can all learn something new every day if we choose. Being a teacher has great benefits, but one of the best is her schedule. She has weekends, all holidays, and over two months in the summer off work to spend with our future children. It truly is the best career to have when you have a family.

Our children will grow up spending time on the lake boating and fishing with their dad and uncle, swimming with their cousins, going to the zoo, riding bikes to the neighborhood park, playing games, and having family movie nights. There will be many adventures as we love to travel, and numerous traditions and celebrations with family and friends. We are very fortunate to live so close to extended family who will love and support our children as much as we do.

We have so much joy, love, laughter, and hope to share with a child. We are able to provide them with a stable home, a great education, and anything else he/she may need growing up. We promise to give your child the best education opportunities possible and to expose them to culture, travel, sports, and any other activities that interest them. We believe that by letting them have many experiences, our children will be more well-rounded and will meet people from all walks of life. We promise to help them be a dreamer, be compassionate, and most importantly, we promise to make your child smile and laugh each day. We feel incredibly lucky to have the chance to bring a child into our lives and start our family.

The gift you will be giving us will never be forgotten. We will always share our adoption story and they will always know where they came from. We look forward to sending letters, emails, and photos over the years, capturing the everyday accomplishments and the important milestones in your child's life. Your baby will know that you love him/her dearly and that you made this choice out of love for them. We thank you again for taking the time to read our story, and we pray that you will consider taking this journey with us.

With love and respect,

Andrew & Becky
