Zan & Billi

We are eternally grateful that you would consider us as potential parents for your child. We believe that the life of a child is the greatest gift, and that to be a parent is truly a privilege. What we want more than anything is an opportunity to grow our family through adoption and have a child that we can love with all of our hearts.

Our Lifestyle

Hiking to Cummins Falls, Tennessee

Our life is focused on family and each other. We find pleasure in the simple things in life, especially spending time with the people we love.

Our daily life is low-key. After work, we enjoy having dinner together and watching our favorite TV show. We go for walks together in the fresh air, swim at the pool, or in the winter, play in the snow. On the weekends, we go hiking, get together with friends, play board games, and attend church on Sundays.

Our military lifestyle allows us to live in different parts of the country. We take advantage of this opportunity by exploring the area, visiting historical sites and local parks. In Georgia, we visited eight different beaches up and down the coast. In Tennessee, we hiked to six waterfalls. We also make it a priority to go home every Christmas to celebrate with our extended families.

Every year we take a special vacation to reconnect and focus on each other. We may take a short road trip or fly, traveling to a beautiful beach or a historical location. One of our favorite trips was to Volcanoes National Park in Hawaii, where we stayed in a rainforest cottage and hiked to breathtaking volcanoes and craters.

We cannot wait to make memories with our child, celebrating the simple beauty of everyday life, spending time with extended family, and enjoying special vacations.

Discussing Adoption

We will always be open with our child about the fact that they are adopted. We will tell them that they have been loved for every moment of their life. Before our child was ever born, we loved them and prayed for them and could not wait for the day that God brought them to us. We will tell them that adoption is an incredible act of love from everyone involved. We will tell them that their birth parents were brave and gave us the most precious gift we could imagine: our family. We will thank God for the child's birth parents and teach our child that love builds a family.

We would ensure that our child understands that we love them with all of our hearts, regardless of how they came into our lives. In today's society there are many ways to create a family, but a family is built on relationships and love. Adoption is one such way, but we will ensure that they always feel loved and know that they are our child, and forever a part of our family.

    Our House and Neighborhood

    In Our Backyard

As a military family, we have had amazing opportunities to live all over the United States, in Texas, Georgia, Hawaii, Tennessee, and Virginia. While we love getting to live in new places, we are so excited to be in Virginia for several years! Our military community provides wonderful support for families. We enjoy fun activities for kids and families, to include holiday events (Halloween trick-or-treating, Christmas party), field trips, game nights, movies, and social events.

We live in a small town with big city opportunities. We can get anywhere in 15 minutes, but have access to amazing schools, museums, and historical sites. Our city is very beautiful, with rolling hills, lots of trees and parks, and mountains in the distance.

We live in a large four-bedroom townhouse with plenty of space for our future child. We have a large family room where we can relax together. We love spending time outside on our decks, grilling food or watching the sunset over the mountains. Our neighborhood has many other young families and lots of other children to play with. We can walk to multiple playgrounds in our neighborhood, including basketball and tennis courts.

Nearby, we have many large parks with sports fields and hiking trails, where we enjoy nature and exercise. There is a large national park an hour away with beautiful waterfalls that we love to explore. Our small city is also home to a large university with many fun opportunities for families, including sporting events, concerts, and historical events.

    Our Extended Families

    Billi's Family

We believe that family is one of the greatest gifts in our life. We are very blessed with loving, close-knit, supportive families. Our families are very supportive of our adoption and cannot wait to love on our child.

We both grew up watching our parents value long, strong marriages (more than 40 years and counting!). We were raised to believe that family is a treasure, something you never give up on. Zan's parents and Billi's parents live near each other in Texas. We talk to them every week and see them several times a year.

    Zan's Family

Zan has a twin brother and an older sister. They have given us nieces and nephews that we adore. Their families live in Alabama, and we communicate with them often and see them a few times a year. Billi has a younger sister/ best friend who lives in Texas. They are extremely close, communicate all the time, and visit each other often.

One of our favorite family traditions is celebrating Christmas together in Texas. We visit our families every December and enjoy family game nights playing board games and dominoes, attending church, and watching old home videos.

We also have close bonds with our aunts, uncles, and cousins. Our extended family makes it a priority to be present for big life events. Every year, many of us travel to visit each other for birthdays, promotions, holidays, and other special events. At times, we are so blessed to have over 30 family members gathered in celebration!

    From Us to You

Thank you for reviewing our profile and taking the time to consider us as potential parents for your child. We recognize and appreciate the significant decision you are considering, and we are so very grateful for you. We can only imagine how much time and emotional energy you have put into this process, and how difficult it must be to decide who are the best people to raise your child. Please know that you are not alone. We have spent countless hours thinking and praying about this decision, and we are here to support you. We hope that learning more about us will help give you peace of mind as you consider adoption.

Adoption is a beautiful act of courage. We know that you are brave and strong, and we are thankful that you would consider adoption. We know that our hearts yearn for our child, and we are amazingly grateful for people like you in this world who would give such a gift to a couple like us. We know that we will love our child unconditionally, with everything that we have, and we will raise our child responsibly, in a safe, healthy, happy home.

We have dreamed about our child for a very long time. We have been together for thirteen years and married for nine. Since the beginning, we knew we would not become parents biologically, and we have long felt the call to adoption on our hearts. To us, a child is both an amazing gift and an immense responsibility. We cannot wait to meet our child, to see them smile and laugh, to hold them when they cry, and to celebrate them as they learn and grow. We will protect and nurture our child. Our child will receive an excellent education and all of the best possibilities we can offer them. Even more importantly, we will ensure that our child grows up happy and healthy and feels loved from the moment they are born, and every moment thereafter.

We would love for you to know that we have a happy, stable marriage, full of love and laughter. We spend time together playing games and exploring nature. We love to joke around, be silly, and make each other laugh every day. We believe in the importance of strong character, work ethic, and treating everyone with kindness and respect. Please know that our child will live in a happy and loving home.

We are very excited for the future. As a military family, we center our lives around God, our country, and our family. We have had incredible opportunities to live in new places and travel the world. We have had many adventures over the years and cannot wait to share them with our child. We have very close-knit, supportive families who are so excited about our adoption. We get together several times a year to celebrate holidays and special events, and our families cannot wait to meet our child.

We want you to know that you are very important to us. Your role in the formation of our family will always be celebrated and appreciated. We will always be honest with our child about their adoption, discussing it in a positive manner. We promise you that we will always speak highly of you, honoring you with our words and actions. We will respect your wishes regarding your relationship with us and our child. We would gladly welcome a relationship with you, one that is healthy and positive for our child. We would love to share letters, pictures, experiences and milestones, so that you will always know that our child is happy and healthy.

We want our child to know that we are their parents and that we love them with all of our hearts, but that does not preclude them from knowing there is someone else that is a part of who they are and where they came from. If we are fortunate enough to be chosen to adopt your child, you would forever become part of ours, and our child's, extended family. Thank you again for your courage, your strength, and your selfless act in allowing a family to raise your child as their own.
