Kevin & Amy
We are thankful you have chosen to provide a life and future for your child ... and we are especially grateful you are considering us to parent your child. You have made a very brave and loving decision. We're thrilled with the prospect of adding another child to our family, and promise to give him or her lots of love, laughter and snuggles.
Our Family

Although we currently have three children, we have been wanting to add a fourth child to our family for several years. Due to infertility problems, we have not been able to make this happen on our own. Adoption has always been an option we have discussed and we feel very positive and excited about completing our family through adoption.
Anna Beth was our best Christmas gift ever when she was born on Christmas Day! Anna Beth, now 13 years old, is the ultimate "big sister." She loves younger children and they love her! Anna Beth is athletic (she is a great tennis and volleyball player!), has a beautiful singing voice and does well in school. Anna Beth has been our biggest fan of adoption and cannot wait to meet her new sibling!
Leo, 10 years old, is our sweet, smart and funny middle child. Leo loves school and his teachers have to work hard to keep him challenged! He is an excellent soccer player and loves to read. Leo is a kind, loving and helpful brother to his sisters and would be an amazing big brother to a new baby. Leo's goal is to be the first one to make his new baby brother or sister laugh!
Lilly's our sweet and sassy little firecracker of a girl! Lilly is 8 years old and works hard to keep up with her older siblings. She loves soccer, gymnastics and basketball. Lilly gives the best hugs and is a huge animal lover. Nobody has a bigger heart than Lilly and she would love nothing more than to share her love with a younger sibling.
Our Lifestyle

Our family likes to be busy and active! All of us enjoy playing sports or being physically active. A good part of our weekends are spent on the sidelines of a soccer field or basketball court watching one of our kids play. We all like to stay fit by getting regular exercise, preferably outside when the weather is nice. Hiking, taking long walks with our dogs and going for bike rides are favorite family activities.
Our family roles are fairly traditional, with Kevin commuting into the city by train to work full-time and Amy staying home to take care of the kids, the dogs and the house. We cherish our family dinners as a time to catch up on our days and to all be together. Although we all stay busy with work, school, sports and volunteer activities, we make sure to have time together every day to talk, read bedtime stories and cuddle.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other

Kevin About Amy: Since the day I met her in law school, Amy has never ceased to impress me. A nurturer by nature, Amy wraps her love around the children like a blanket. As a mother, Amy is able to walk the line between structure and humor, such that our house is both tidy yet full of laughter. Her steadfast devotion to our family manifests itself in our home-cooked meals (did I mention she's a talented chef and baker?), her leadership in the children's schools (PTA president, fundraising co-chair, room parent, etc.), and the amazingly warm home environment she has created. Whether it's carving out the one-on-one time to help with homework, snuggling a sniffling kid to sleep, or holding their hand as they try something new, Amy is physically and emotionally present in our children's lives every day.
Amy About Kevin: Kevin is my best friend and the person I trust more than anyone else. He is also the best father to our children by being loving, protective and so much fun! Our kids feel safe and secure knowing he is always taking care of us and that we are his top priority. He has coached our kids' soccer teams for years and can often be found playing games with the kids in our backyard, taking the kids on hikes, and splashing around with them at the pool. I'm always amazed by how well Kevin is able to walk the line between being a disciplinarian and fun parent with our children.

Our House and Neighborhood

We live in a small village just outside a large city in Illinois. Our neighborhood is full of families with young kids and has many parks, a large community swimming pool, and miles of sidewalks for riding bikes and scooters. We are less than a mile from a large lake with a beautiful sandy beach and a great playground.
The schools in our area are some of the best in the country. The kids' school and the quaint village center are just 2 blocks from our home, so we spend lots of time outside walking to school, restaurants and shops. Kevin is able to walk to the train station, so his commute is easy and stress free.
We love our historic home with its rocking chair front porch and large backyard where the kids can play basketball, swing on their play structure and jump on their trampoline. The kids also love the play rooms they have in the basement and on the third floor of our house. We selected our house in part because it has enough space for our family right now as well as a new addition to our family.
Our Extended Families

Both of us are fortunate to have loving parents who supported us and provided many opportunities for us when we were growing up. Amy grew up with one younger sister, who is now married and has two little girls. Kevin has an older brother and a younger sister, both of whom are married and each have three kids. While all of our siblings live in other states, we make sure to see them often and love our time together. The kids especially have a blast playing with their cousins!

Amy's parents live nearby and we see them nearly every week. Amy's mom loves being a grandma and always comes to our house with bags full of toys, craft projects and yummy treats for our kids. Kevin's parents live a few states away but we see them frequently and love spending holidays with them.
Meals are an important part of our family's time together. We love making big holiday meals, but also make it a point to spend time laughing and talking around the dinner table each night.
Our parents and siblings are all excited about the prospect of adding another grandchild/cousin to our family through adoption!
From Us to You

We are thrilled with the prospect of adding another child to our family through adoption! We have put so much thought, prayer, time and energy into making this decision. Our kids, our families, our friends and our community know how much we have been wanting to bring home another child. This child will be wanted, will be loved, will be cherished and will be well taken care of by our family. We have the space both in our hearts and our home to welcome a child into our lives. We also have the resources to give him or her the best opportunities possible. There will be no limits to the type of education, variety of sports or artistic endeavors this child can pursue.
We have a very stable, loving and happy marriage. We can honestly say we are each other's best friends and are each other's primary source of support and companionship. We have been married for nearly 17 years now and have a more meaningful and stronger relationship with each passing year.
While your child would not be our first child, we feel like we have even more to offer after being parents for the past 13 years. We know how much work and time go into parenting as well as how much happiness and fulfillment having kids brings. We have our eyes wide open to the unique challenges (and lack of sleep!) that come with bringing a baby into our home. However, we enthusiastically want to raise another child because we know the joy and rewards that come with watching a baby grow and develop into a child with a unique personality.
We also appreciate the fact that now - more than ever - we have the ability to really enjoy and cherish the baby phase. With our first three, Kevin was just starting out in his career and life was chaotic. Now that Kevin is approaching his 17th year with the same firm and Amy has the ability to be a stay-at-home mom, we will have the luxury of focusing even more love and attention on any new arrival.
We know how hard this decision must be for you, but admire your courage and selflessness for pursuing adoption for your child. If given the opportunity, we will raise your child in a home with adoring siblings and loving parents. Your child will always feel secure and loved and will know just how much they are wanted by our family.
Since we are sure you would like reassurance that your child is being nurtured and growing up in a happy home, we are happy to send you regular photos and letters. If you prefer email updates, we can certainly send you messages and photos though email. And, depending on logistics, we are open to an occasional visit. Because we respect you and your wishes, we plan to communicate with you as much or as little as you prefer.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our family and for considering us to raise and love your child. We hope you can see how much we love and enjoy our role as parents and how we would joyfully welcome your child into our lives. No matter what your decision, we wish the best for you and your baby.
All the best,
Kevin & Amy
