Our Leisure Time

Kayaking at a Local Lake

When we aren't working or hanging out with our pups, you can probably find us either gardening, fishing or hanging out in our kayaks. We love to do anything that is outdoors and if we can bring the dogs, even better! Alyssa also volunteers for Moms in the Making which is a faith-based infertility support group that she leads from our home a few times a month. She loves to try new recipes and Jeremiah is the perfect taste tester. Her fresh vegetables and herbs from her garden make trying new recipes a breeze!

In Jeremiah's spare time, you can find him building computers, playing video games or in trout fishing. Jeremiah built his gaming computer and helps family with any technology questions they might have. He also enjoys grilling anything that he can. Jeremiah is also extremely handy; he replaced all the floors in our house with wood and built Alyssa her raised garden beds. We love to be outside and working with our hands - even better if we can be creative in the process!

Family Traditions

We try to split every holiday evenly, because we want to see everyone so badly. However, when it comes to traditions there are some that we can't give up! Every Thanksgiving the women on Alyssa's side of the family will sit down after lunch and search the Black Friday ads for hours! By the time we all leave to go home, they have all the items mapped out on where they are going, when they will be there, how many of the items they need and who will be grabbing what item. They've been doing this for 30 years, so it makes sense they have it down so well. Then as they get about three weeks from Christmas, Alyssa's immediate family will get together to make enough cookies and homemade candies to pass out to all their family and friends! Everyone oversees certain cookies and a candy so that everyone is always helping! Jeremiah and his dad always go down to trout fish opening weekend in March! It's strictly a guy’s weekend and last year, Jeremiah caught a prize fish! They have some of the best stories from their hunting and fishing trips. Even though they are men and boy trips only they have the most fun and the women in the family always make the food to supply!

Our Dogs, Duck & Rooster

Sweet Pups

We are huge miniature dachshund fans! In fact, we have two! They are such smart, sensitive and loyal dogs. We have a one-and-a-half-year-old named Duck, she is the absolute sweetest and the perfect snuggling dog! She loves bedtime because that means she gets bedtime kisses and a cookie! She knows commands but would rather just be in the backyard playing fetch. Our other is a four-month-old puppy named Rooster. She has a loud personality! She doesn't walk anywhere, she bounds! She always must have a bone to chew on, which we happily supply. She hasn't figured out fetch yet, but she just runs in circles, she will get there. We love to take them on walks around the neighborhood and they have friends they like to say hi to as well. Our pets are definitely spoiled rotten. They love to play with our niece and nephews! The kids blow bubbles in the backyard and the dogs run around chasing them. We think they will be great big sisters!

Our Extended Families

Christmas with Family

Jeremiah has two brothers, two nephews and a supportive mom and dad! They grew up playing football, wrestling and hiking in Colorado! His parents live about 10 minutes from our house and we get together for Sunday lunch every other week. When we all get together we are able to see his nephews, play board and card games, play hot wheels and sidewalk chalk. We love to play card games and dominoes together - anything that might involve strategy!

At the Pumpkin Patch with Our Nephew

Alyssa grew up on her parent’s family farm, about 40 minutes from where we live currently. The farm has every animal except sheep and goats! Alyssa has two brothers, one niece and one nephew. Her parents often host everyone at the farm for BBQ's and tricycle races! We both get together with both of our families for holidays and we try our best to make it to all activities our niece and nephews have. Family is very important to both of us, we cannot wait to introduce your child to our amazing families! When we told our family of our plans to expand our family through adoption there was so much celebration! Our families immediately asked how they could help us, how they could pray for you and your baby.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We live in a suburb in Missouri on a quiet street in a 3-bedroom, 2-bath house just around the corner from a cute little park with swing sets and a basketball court. The park always has families with kids of different ages playing tag, swinging or playing basketball and enjoying lunch at the covered shelter area. Most weekends in the summer there is a birthday party or family reunion happening so there are always people there. We love to take our two miniature dachshunds on walks around the neighborhood and through the little park, they love to play with the kids! Our neighborhood celebrates every holiday with all day events for Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Easter and more. They also have summer movie nights for the kids, we cannot wait to pack movie snacks, blankets and pillows and go to the movie nights in the park as a family.

Our house is a split level and Jeremiah turned the downstairs living area into a movie room, we love to watch our favorite movies with popcorn downstairs on the sofa. Alyssa's favorite room is the kitchen, she loves to make everything from homemade breads to roast chickens and even homemade desserts for everyone in her family and their neighbors.

From Us to You

Hello! We are Jeremiah and Alyssa. We met on a blind date and have been together for eight years and married for five. We knew from the time that we got married that we wanted a family and would like to start one right away. However, after five years and many failed fertility treatments we felt called to adoption. While our journey hasn't been easy, we truly feel that had we not walked our infertility journey we wouldn't be where we are as a couple. Our infertility journey has brought us closer not only to each other but to Jesus. We know that He will finish what He has started (Phil. 1:6) and we know we are meant to be parents no matter how children come to us.

When we were talking to Alyssa's parents about adoption her mom started talking about all the ways that adoption had already touched our lives, but we didn't know. Alyssa's Mom reminded her that her Great Aunt had two daughters from a previous marriage and when she remarried, her husband adopted them. She also reminded her that her cousin is a birth mother. Alyssa also has another cousin who adopted their baby girl last year. Jeremiah's Aunt and Uncle have also adopted their two children, so we really are touched on both sides. We saw how supported and loved everyone was and became even more excited about our own adoption journey. Everyone has been so open with us allowing us to ask questions, they've provided advice and truly supported us so much.

How can we possibly put into words how much you mean to us? We believe that if you choose us to adopt your baby God has already woven our stories together, forever. We believe that it truly takes a village to raise a child and we are so honored to be part of yours. We would like to learn as much about you as you would like us to know. We understand how important this decision is and we want you to be an important part of your child’s life. We plan on frequently sending you pictures of your child as they grow, or a keepsake when there is a new milestone in their life, we don't want you to miss that. We hope that we can communicate via email and phone calls if you would like. We strongly believe our future involves you.

We know that this is a decision you do not take lightly, but we want you to know we've never stopped praying for you and your child. We will always be honest and open with your child regarding adoption. We will always make sure that your child knows how much you love them and how hard the decision was for you. We know this journey has been long, but this is such a selfless act. You are and will always be such a significant role in your child's life and we will always represent you positively to your child. If you choose us to parent your child, we promise to always love, encourage and support them. We have waited our whole lives to be parents and our hearts, our home and our arms are so ready to expand. If you picked us, you would be making all our dreams come true. We cannot wait to meet you, to hug you and pray over you. We pray that the remainder of your pregnancy goes smoothly and that you know we are here for you during this time.

Thank you so much for considering us as potential parents for your child. We truly admire your love, courage and discernment during this journey.

With love and respect,

Jeremiah & Alyssa
