Eddie & Heather
Thank you for considering us to be potential parents to your baby. We are a fun loving and very family oriented. We are so excited to grow our family and have a sibling for our 10 year old son, Jack. He can not wait to be a big brother. We absolutely love being parents and have learned so much from it over the years. We look forward to sharing many more memories with a new addition to our family.
Our Family Traditions
Our family has lots of fun traditions that we celebrate through out the year. One of our traditions is spending Christmas in Florida at Heather's parent's house in Sarasota, Florida. Santa and "Elfie" finds us each year and leaves Christmas gifts under our decorated palm tree. We love to go to the beach on Christmas day to swim and play in the sand. We also have multiple traditions at our house including our annual Easter egg hunt for all the kids and "Friendsgiving" the weekend after Thanksgiving.
We love to cook, decorate and enjoy hosting our family and friends over for most holidays for a big family dinner. We always have plenty of food for all to enjoy. St. Patrick's day is another fun day for our family and extended family. We decorate a float and walk in our towns parade and celebrate our Irish heritage.
Why We Chose Adoption
We decided together to chose adoption for multiple reasons. We both knew that we wanted to expand our family and tried multiple attempts at IUI and IVF but were unsuccessful. Both of us knew right away that adoption was the right answer. We have very close friends that have recently adopted two children and we have been apart of their journey from the beginning. We have learned so much through them and know that we would unconditionally love the child that joins our family. We also do not take parenting lightly and understand this is a lifelong journey with lots to learn yet excited to embrace it. We both come from families with multiple siblings and want to share that same experience with our son knowing that he will make a great big brother. We have learned that we are not perfect and it is ok to seek support when needed, to be patient and let our son blossom into his own person. We will give our promise to give everything we have to be the best parents possible to the child.
Our Extended Families
Both of us come from small but very loving and close knit families. Heather's parents live close by and are not only great grandparents but also our best friends. They take a very personal interest in all three of their grandchildren and put every effort to attend all school, sports and fun events. Heather's parents provided an amazing childhood for her and her brother and go above and beyond for the grandkids as well. They recently purchased a home in Florida for all of us kids to enjoy. We have started a family tradition to celebrate Christmas in Florida. The kids love finding their gifts from Santa under the decorated palm tree in the Florida house. We also love to hit up the beach, BBQ, golf and go to Disney World as a family.
We also are very lucky to have a great group of friends we consider family. Over the years we have started lots of family traditions we share with all of our kids. We love to gather for "friendsgiving" the weekend after Thanksgiving to celebrate our friendships and love for each other. We not only look to our families to help in raising our kids but also our friends. It is a fun privilege to be able to come together and share exciting times such as kids sporting events and happy times with our friends. We often stop by each others homes on a regular basis to visit and have dinners together. We feel so lucky to have our family but also our friends to celebrate life with. Both our families and friends look forward to sharing wonderful times with the child.
Our House and Neighborhood
Our home is always a fun time and seems full of laughter of some sorts. Whether it's Eddie cracking his usual jokes with Jack, or our two dogs doing something funny. It's not unusual for the house to smell of BBQ as Eddie loves to grill out or use his smoker on a regular basis. We live off the beaten path on a street with homes on 5 acre lots. We love inviting our neighbors over to have dinner, play yard games and let the kids chase after our family chickens.
One of our last home projects was building a chicken coop in our backyard to house our 10 chickens and rooster. It has become a tradition for the neighborhood to gather for Memorial day and 4th of July for BBQs and swimming parties.
Jack's school is only 5 minutes away so this means there are lots of kids that live close by. There are also local parks, libraries and community swimming pools we love to visit. The community and school also has sports teams and clubs that our son, Jack belongs to and the child could be apart of as well.
From Us to You
Hello and thank you very much for learning more about us. First and foremost we respect your strength and courage to choose adoption. We give our commitment to love, protect and provide a safe and stable home.
We have been married for four years and knew right away that we wanted to add another child to our family. Heather was married once before and had a son, Jack from her previous marriage. Eddie and Jack instantly connected and it has been so much fun from day one. Jack is 10 years old and going into the 5th grade. He goes to a private catholic grade school close to our home. He loves sports, friendships and playing with his two dogs on our five acres of land. Most of his friends have younger siblings and he adores playing with them and can not wait for the time he gets to be a big brother.
We also adore our immediate family and are very close to them. We spend a lot of time together and love to have all of the cousins over to our house to play and enjoy life together. Both of our families are very supportive of our decision to adopt. They are excited to welcome the child to our family and create wonderful family memories together.
Heather works in Human Resources and loves working with students in high school and colleges to set them up for employment opportunities when they graduate. Eddie works in business development and works with people on a daily basis. Heather came from a two parent working home and seeing her mom work so hard instilled alot of strong values within her. Heather plans to continue to work but has a flexible job that allows her to be at home when needed.
We have learned so much being parents to Jack and feel the time is perfect to welcome another child to the family. Education, strong work ethic, and christian values are very important and represent who we are as a family. For the child we are very committed to encouraging the child to develop and blossom within their strengths. We will encourage the child to develop and be their own unique person and support them every step of the way.
We promise to share photos, text, emails and updates on your child's growth and development if you would like. We both respect and have a strong belief that it is very important for us to be open and honest with the child in regards to their adoption. We also promise to speak positive and share nothing but love when we speak of you. We are eager to get to know you and happy to keep a healthy relationship with you. We are also open to meet with you so that we can get to know each other.
Thank you for considering us as potential parents for your child. We know that you have an extremely difficult decision ahead of you. We admire you for your selflessness and courage.
