Our Lifestyle

On Our Porch

We live in a state that experiences four seasons, which lends itself to year-round fun! We both love getting outside. Ryan enjoys golfing and fishing. Kristin enjoys swimming and going out to the golf course with Ryan. We both love going on mini adventures to new local spots we haven't yet explored. We both like outdoor concerts and celebrating the 4th of July watching fireworks. We do something special each June for our anniversary. In the fall and spring, we enjoy the cooler temperatures, going for walks with the pugs, and checking out the fall colors on drives. We go pumpkin picking and Kristin is persistent in finding the best pumpkins for the porch. In the winter, we love renting movies, cuddling with the pugs, and cooking soups and crock pot meals. Also, we enjoy taking some winter trips up to northern Minnesota to spend some peaceful time in the snow. What would make all of these seasons even more enjoyable is sharing these adventures with a little one.

Our Professional Lives

With Ryan's Co-Workers

Ryan is a Field Agronomist and works for a local seed company. Typically he's home by 5 p.m. every day and really enjoys his job. When he's not in his office, he's out in the field working with farmers to gain an understanding of how well the crops are doing. He gets the best of both worlds of diving into data and working out in the field. Ryan majored in Agricultural Business and Marketing in college.

Kristin works in training and development for the state government. She has a Master's degree in counseling. In her career she works with employees to help them feel appreciated and valued in the workplace. Kristin's passion is helping others realize their potential and is at her best when she is making a positive impact on others. Kristin is also passionate about education, she majored in Biology and went on to get a Master's Degree in Counseling where she emphasized in college student development.

    Our House and Neighborhood

    Our Home

We live in a wonderful community full of families. It's a great place to raise a family and we can't wait to share it with a child!

We own a four-bedroom split level home. Outside, we have a beautiful deck which Kristin likes to cover with flowers in the summers. Our backyard is fenced in with plenty of space for the pugs and a little one to run around and play. Also, in the back we have two mature trees that provide shade and look beautiful in the fall. We like to spend summer and fall evenings roasting s'mores in our fire pit.

    Watering the Flowers

Inside, our upstairs is open concept where the kitchen, dining room and living room are all connected. It is great for hosting get-togethers and a lovely layout for a family. There are two bedrooms upstairs - our Master bedroom and a second bedroom for the Nursery. Downstairs we have another living space where we watch movies together and can picture a little one playing with lots of toys.

Our neighborhood is filled with families and kids. There are sidewalks perfect for taking the pugs for a walk. There is a park close by with a baseball field, playground, and walking trails.

Our school district is spectacular and we love our community here.

    Our Extended Families

    Kristin & Her Mom

Our family is so excited for us to adopt. Both our sets of parents are ready to shower this new grandchild with love, sugar, fun adventures, and quality time.

Kristin comes from a very close-knit family where acceptance and unconditional love are the core values. We carry those values into our family with our two pugs Izzy and Gnocchi.

At the Lake House With Ryan's Family

Ryan's family background is similar. He comes from a big farm family and this has contributed to his incredible work ethic and valuing time outdoors. He spent a lot of time camping growing up which is a tradition we have carried into our family and look forward to sharing that experience with a little one.

On holidays we like to get together with as many family members as we can to share large meals, play games like life-sized Jenga and enthusiastically watch sports while the kids laugh and play.

We both have close friends and cousins that we consider siblings and live by the motto "I'll always have your back."

    From Us to You

We have been thinking a lot about what to put in this letter. We want a family so badly and we are scared that we won't do justice in conveying what we feel in our hearts. Maybe you're feeling the same way; scared, wondering how you'll know what is right for you, and wishing there was a way to see into the future so you know it all turns out how you wished and hoped. Whatever road has brought you to consider an adoption plan, know that we have so much respect and love for you and we want to support you.

You're probably wondering about us- the two of us met in college and have been married for 11 years. We both have stable careers and college degrees. We own a lovely home with a large, fenced in backyard. We have two sweet and spunky pugs, Izzy and Gnocchi. Our family and friends are so important to us and they have been supportive and loving since day one of this journey. We love laughing together, spending time outdoors, and taking vacations. We have a wonderful life and are so grateful for our many blessings. The one thing that we are missing, is a child to hold in our arms. We want so badly to have a baby, a kid in tow with Izzy and Gnocchi begging for dropped Cheerios with so many adventures to look forward to.

Of the 11 years of our marriage, we have been trying to have a baby for 10. We have been thrown many curve balls and during a procedure to help our chances of having a child, Kristin nearly lost her life. We didn't let that break us - we weren't ready to give up. At this point, we decided to use our own embryos and found a really wonderful surrogate. After several unsuccessful transfers, we were out of embryos, but not out of hope. We have been through many trying times, but this path to parenthood has created a marriage that is stronger than ever and is built on a foundation of trust and love. We are ready, and more than anything, we would love the opportunity to love and raise a child.

We believe that it is best for this child to have a relationship with you and we would like to stay connected through letters, pictures, emails, phone calls, or visits. We want this child to know how much they are loved by you.

As parents, our promise to you is that we will provide this child with a loving, stable home, filled with endless amounts of joy. We promise to care for and love this child unconditionally, to listen to them, to play with them, to give them birthday parties, to hug them when they're sad, to tell them they are beautiful, to love them through all the awkward stages, and to show them how proud we are to be their parents. We promise to give this child a life full of opportunities to explore who they are, to do what makes them happy, and help them find their purpose. We will provide as many learning opportunities that we can and support their education. We will raise this child be kind to others, confident in themselves, proud of who they are, and passionate about what they love. They will always know their worth, know how deeply they are loved, and always be supported.

Thank you for taking the time to read our letter and for considering us. We know in our hearts that we are meant to be parents and we are grateful for the courageous choice you are considering to help complete our family and make our dreams come true.

    With love and gratitude,

    Ryan & Kristin
