Damian & Sarah
Thank you for taking the time to review our profile and consider us. Choosing us to parent your child would mean a lifetime of love, learning, and new experiences for your little one. We are so excited to grow our family and look forward to getting to know you and working with you on this journey.
Our Leisure Time
We love to travel, both domestically and internationally. Whether it's a long weekend exploring someplace new or a week at the beach, we enjoy visiting different places. Our weekends are often spent trying local restaurants, taking in a hockey or baseball game at one of the local minor league stadiums, enjoying local music, and spending time with friends. We are lucky to have friends that live close by and it is not uncommon for us to spend time at their house or for them to come to our house to play games and grill.
We also enjoy quiet time at home and spending time on our deck together enjoying the sights and sounds of the nature behind our house. We love to spend time outdoors, biking, kayaking, fishing, and walking our two dogs, Gunner and Copper. We are looking forward to introducing a little one into our family so that he/she can join us in all of the fun things we love to do.
We enjoy spending time with our two dogs, Gunner and Copper. Gunner is an eight year old German Shepard/Husky Mix and Copper is a 13 year old Beagle. Gunner and Copper were both companions of Damian's prior to his meeting Sarah. Both dogs immediately fell in love with Sarah and it is safe to say the feeling is very mutual.
Although Gunner may look intimidating because of his size, he is the sweetest, most gentle and loving dog. Despite his age, Copper still acts like a puppy. He seems to be always attached to Sarah, cuddling with her when she sleeps or curled up next to her on the couch. We love taking our dogs on walks around our neighborhood where they get to interact with other dogs and the neighborhood children who are always excited to see them and pet them. Both pups are excited to welcome a little brother or sister into their home.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other
Damian About Sarah: When I first met Sarah, I knew immediately there was something special about her. What I have learned over the past 5 years that I have known her is that we are perfect for each other. Sarah has an amazing work ethic and shows complete dedication to whatever she does. Sarah is always willing to help anyone in need and has a strong relationship with her family. I am blessed to have such a loving and supportive person in my life. I know Sarah will treasure every moment of being a mother and she will shower a child with endless unconditional love and support.
Sarah About Damian: Damian is everything that I could have asked for in a husband. He is supportive of everything that I do, no matter how crazy, and does everything he can to make sure I am taken care of. Damian and I met online and have been in love ever since. He makes me laugh when I most need it and brings me a dose of reality when I get carried away. Damian brought 2 of the sweetest dogs along to our relationship with him who mean the world to both of us. Damian is a great doggy daddy and I know that love will be even more evident once we bring a child into our lives.
Our Extended Families
We spend most holidays either locally with friends or with Sarah's family. Sarah's parents and brother live about four hours away. We visit them a few times a year, generally for holidays or other family events, and they come visit us every couple of months. When they visit us, we enjoy going to baseball or hockey games or just hanging out. They live in a rural area so, when we visit them, we spend a lot of time doing outdoor activities or visiting Sarah's grandfather, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family. Sarah's family is Italian so family dinners tend to involve a lot of delicious, homemade food and fantastic desserts.
Damian's Dad lives locally so we occasionally go out to dinner with him and catch up. His Mom lives in Arizona so we don't see her regularly but she tries to visit about once a year and spends a couple of weeks with us.
Our families are looking forward to us bringing a new member to our family. Our parents are beyond excited to become grandparents and spoil our new addition like only grandparents can do.
Our House and Neighborhood
We call a suburban area in eastern Pennsylvania home. Our area is great because we have major cities, the ocean, and the mountains all within an hour or two drive. We live in a small, quiet neighborhood. We live right next to the school complex, which includes 3 elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school. The football and soccer stadiums, baseball fields, and other school activities are all within walking distance. We have a great mix of older couples with adult children and younger, growing families in our neighborhood.
We fell in love with our house when we first walked in the door. It is very homey, featuring an open main living area, 4 bedrooms, 2 fireplaces, a finished basement, and a great outdoor space. We enjoy spending time outside on our deck during the warmer months and inside in front of our fireplace during the cooler months. There are a number of parks, community swimming pools, and trails for walking or bike riding within minutes of us. We also have a minor league baseball team and a minor league hockey team only 15 minutes from our house. During the summer months, there are community festivals just about every weekend. We have the benefit of celebrating all 4 seasons here - we enjoy the sunshine and pool in the summer, changing leaves in the fall, snow and sled riding in the winter, and blooming flowers in the spring. This is truly a great place to live.
From Us to You
Although we have not yet met, we have great respect you for and the difficult decision that you have made. Thank you for opening your heart to us and giving us the opportunity to raise your child as our own. Please know that we will love your child unconditionally and will nurture him or her to grow up to be the best person that he or she can be. We promise to instill values such as generosity, kindness, and respect for others. We will encourage his or her hopes and dreams so that your child can reach his or her full potential as part of our family.
We look forward to you being part of your child's life and us becoming part of yours. He or she will always know that you love him or her and will know that your sacrifice was made out of love and wanting him or her to have the opportunity to live the best life. We will make sure he or she knows who his or her "first mom" is and will be sure to share photos, letters, and visits through the years so that you will always be a part of our lives and a part of our family.
If you choose us to raise your child, we assure you that he or she will have the opportunity to travel near and far, whether it be a weekend at the beach or a visit to a foreign land. He or she will also enjoy the little things in life - a good home, dinners with family, and time with friends.
We met five years ago and have been married for almost three years. Our relationship is built on love, respect for each other, and a true enjoyment of spending time together, all of which we hope to share with a child. During our time together, we have experienced so much joy and, unfortunately, sorrow. In 2017, Sarah was blessed to become pregnant with our first child. Our son, Patrick, passed away in the womb at 35 weeks. Although the loss of our son was beyond devastating, it has helped us to become who we are today and has made us realize our true desire to become parents.
We currently live in eastern Pennsylvania, where we can easily reach the beach, the mountains, and several major cities within a couple hours' drive. Damian's father is local and his mother lives in Arizona, but comes to visit about once a year. Sarah's family lives in northwestern Pennsylvania so we can drive to them or they can come to us with about a four hour drive. We generally spend holidays with Sarah's family or stay local and celebrate with friends. Both of us grew up with grandparents and extended family in our lives, which has strengthened our bond with our families. Because of this, family is very important to both of us and we hope to instill those same values in our children.
We believe that the greatest responsibility as parents is to ensure that our child knows our true love for him or her. We look forward to having the opportunity to share our love with our child and the opportunity to once again see life through the eyes of a child.
Thank you for taking a little glimpse into our lives - we look forward to having the opportunity to learn about you, meet you, and move forward on this journey with you.
With love and respect,
Damian & Sarah
