Mike & Sarah
We know you have a difficult decision ahead and we are praying for you and your child. It has been a hard road for us starting a family, so our decision to adopt was not taken lightly. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for considering us as potential parents.
What It Means to Become Parents

Even before we were married we talked about adopting, so this decision to adopt was already in our plans. We both knew God had called us to adopt, but we expected it to be after we had a couple of children. However, God had a different plan for how we started our family. Over the last couple of years, we have experienced many losses. With the chances of us having a biological child very small, we saw that God had another plan for how we build our family. We are so excited that God has led us to choose adoption and are ready to bring home our future child.
Becoming a parent is not something we take lightly or something we think will be easy. We have been praying and longing for this moment to become parents since we got married. We are excited and ready for this journey to have new adventures along with wonderful memories. It is exciting to think about all the moments we will experience. We look forward to all the wonderful memories with our future child; first words, first steps, story time, bath time, family vacations, baby dedication, along with other important moments. We also understand being a parent can be challenging, but it is also very rewarding when you see him or her make it through a challenging area in life. We plan to share many lessons our parents taught us and show them to our future child. This is what we will cherish most about being parents.
Our Favorite Vacation Spot

We enjoy taking many different types of vacations, such as a long road trip where we stop at different cities along the way. This allows us to experience new cities, culture, history, and food without a big vacation in one spot. We also love taking a long weekend together or with Sarah's parents to a destination that's only a couple of hours from home.
We enjoy experiencing new adventures together, but our overall favorite type of vacation is any warm, white sand beach with clear blue water. We find beach vacations to be the best place for us to relax. It allows Sarah to relax while watching the waves crash, listening to music or reading a book, while it allows Mike to relax while sleeping on the beach or listening to podcasts.
What is nice about some of our vacations is we include our parents. We are so excited for this child to join our long family weekend vacations, road trips, and beach vacations.
Our Life Priorities
As a family, our life priorities are pretty simple: honor God, create a loving home and stay faithful to our family. We wake up each day wanting to honor God in every word that comes out of our mouth, with every place we travel to and everything we are a part of. That includes using our time, talents and gifts to glorify God and help others. Creating a loving home that is a safe haven to everything going on outside is something we both had when we were children. This helped us so much growing up. We look forward to raising our children to feel like they are fully loved and safe at home with their family. We do not find priority in material things, these things will not last. We look forward to raising our children to live by the same set of values.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our home is a fun place to be for a child to grow up.
We live in a spacious single family home in Maryland with a large front porch in the country surrounded by woods and farmland. The favorite room inside our home is the open family/living/kitchen room. This is a cozy space where we spend most of our family time with games, movies or just chatting and enjoying each other’s company. On the outside, our favorite spot is the front porch, where we can watch and listen to sounds of nature. We enjoy listing for the woodpeckers, owls and watching the deer among other animals.
With the layout of our house on the inside and the land on the outside, there is lots of room for children to play and explore. Given we have some tall trees we have already envisioned later having a neat rope swing and adventure trails along with places for our child to play with friends. We have neighbors with children within walking distance along with other couples nearby with children.
Our local town provides parks, indoor/outdoor amusement park, ice cream shops, etc. The surrounding towns have yearly carnivals along with the annual county fair. We are within an hour or less from many large cities with many museums, zoos, theaters, historic areas along with other culture and sporting events.
Our home is a great place to live and raise a family.
Our Extended Families
We both come from small immediate families but very large extended families. Sarah is an only child and Mike has one younger brother. Sarah's parents live nearby so we get together with them at least once a month. Sarah has a close relationship with her mom comparable to the characters in the TV show the "Gilmore Girls". Sarah also has one grandmother who lives about an hour away. Mike's parents, along with his brother, live about four hours away. The location does not allow us to see them often, but we talk to them every Sunday. Along with other get-togethers we host our immediate family for Thanksgiving.

For the extended family, Sarah has aunts and an uncle living plus considerable first and second cousins at a variety of ages. Fun is had at family picnics and Christmas gatherings; Sarah’s Dad makes the pies. Mike also has a large number of cousins, who live in varying states so they are visited individually at different times. Both Mike and Sarah have close relationships with aunts and cousins and see them as often as possible.
Children are considered a blessing by the entire family, therefore, they excitedly support our decision to adopt and are praying for the mother and baby. This will be the first grandchild, on both sides so the Grandparents have anxious anticipation and excitement along with prayers. Sarah’s Dad (Grandpa) says we don’t yet know the baby however there is already love in the family for the child.
From Us to You

Hello! Our names are Mike and Sarah. First, we want to thank you for taking the time to read our profile and to get to know us better. We realize you have a difficult decision ahead and we admire your courage and strength. Please know we are praying for you and your child.
We can only imagine how hard of a decision you are making for your child. You are not taking this decision lightly. Lots of thought went into your decision to plan for your child's well being. We want you to know our decision to become parents and expand our family through adoption was also not taken lightly. We know parenting is not always easy, but we see it as the most rewarding thing we can accomplish in our lifetime.
Ever since we got married we knew we wanted to start a family. However, shortly after we got married our struggle to have children was clear. But, with our faith in God, support from each other along with our friends and family, we realized God had another plan for our dreams to become parents. We have so much love to give so we are excited to open our heart and to share all that love with your child.
Our families are extremely supportive to both of us and with our decision to adopt. They are over the moon excited to be grandparents. Our families are very involved in our lives and will be spending a lot of time with your child helping them grow, teaching values, nurturing and having fun.
We met eight years ago at a church function and have been married for the past five years. Your child will be entering into a loving and stable home. We very much love each other and we cannot wait to share that love with your child. Every moment we can spend together we take advantage of it, not only just the two of us but also with our family and friends. We enjoy outings with friends, family and holiday gatherings. Our home has become a popular place for Thanksgiving. We look forward to hosting more gatherings around your child.
We will share with you your child's growth and experiences through photos, letters, and emails as you desire. We will always be open and honest with your child regarding their adoption. We find it important for your child to know where they came from, so we will happily share about you with your child. Your child will know how much you love him or her and we will make sure your child knows how hard the decision was for you to allow us the opportunity to love and care for him or her.
We thank you for considering us as potential parents for your child. We have been looking forward to growing our family for a long while and will provide all the love, support, and care any child would need and all parents would ask for. We will be praying for you as God guides you to make the right decision for you and your child.
Blessings,
Mike & Sarah
