Tim & Anne

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for taking the time to consider us as potential parents to your child. Family is very important to us and we look forward to growing our family by adopting a child. We long to guide a child through life by instilling our faith, values, and fun-loving spirits. Most importantly, we want our child to be happy. We can't wait to see how our family will grow through adoption.

What It Means to Become Parents

We Can't Wait to Become Parents!

We both long to be parents. We have watched our siblings and friends be blessed with and raise children and we look forward to raising a child who will complete our family. We both grew up in loving homes where love and laughter were the foundations of family. We can't wait to love a child unconditionally and look forward to the simple, everyday things such as reading bedtimes stories, baking cookies, watching movies, playing games, helping with homework, and decorating for the holidays. We also can't wait to introduce a child to outdoor activities such as teaching the child to ride a bike, play basketball, golf, and swim.

Most importantly, we look forward to guiding a child through life and supporting the child through any challenges that will arise by talking through obstacles and helping to problem solve and holding him/her tight when all that is needed is a hug and a shoulder to cry on. Cheering a child on through the successes in life, no matter how big or small, will also be cherished moments we look forward to celebrating with a child. As Catholics, we can't wait to instill our faith values and watch a child grow in his/her relationship with God. Through a strong relationship with God and guidance from us as adoptive parents, we can't wait to help him/her to grow in confidence and strength to navigate life.

Our Leisure Time

Skiing

In our free time, we have several hobbies we enjoy together and would love to involve a child in our interests. Tim loves sports, including baseball, hockey, golf, and skiing. He longs to play basketball and street hockey in our driveway with a child. Tim is a GREAT teacher and has been teaching Anne how to ski. Anne loves to bike and run. On a warm day, Anne can be found biking on an 8-mile bike loop at a nearby park. The arts are also important to Anne. She loves to act, sing, paint, and build things. She can't wait to create art with a child and looks forward to teaching a child how to express himself/herself through art.

After a family vacation to the Upper Peninsula, we both found an interest in hiking. We have explored several trails near our home and would love to take a child on hikes locally and in the Upper Peninsula on our annual family trip. In the summer, we enjoy swimming in the pool after work and on the weekends.

Reading is also important to us. Anne can be found reading in several spots in our home, while Tim enjoys reading in his armchair next to a fire in the fireplace. Anne's favorite spot to read is in the pool. While we love to do all these activities as a couple, we would be thrilled to share them with a child.

Family Traditions

Pizza at the Cousins' Sleepover

Family is our top priority. As a couple, we love getting bagels before a road trip and going out for ice cream. On the weekends, we enjoy watching movies on Friday nights and Michigan State University football games on Saturdays in the fall. Sundays include attending church and having breakfast with Tim's family.

Also, holidays are very important to us. We kick off the holiday season by carving pumpkins, hosting Thanksgiving dinner for our families, and baking Christmas cookies for family and neighbors. We also love to decorate the house for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Before Christmas, we decorate the outside of the house together and neighbors have commented on how the decorations put them in the holiday spirit. We enjoy going to both of our parents' houses for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and Easter where we have big family dinners and create special memories.

Throughout the summer, we host barbecues for our families who have become so close that our nieces and nephews consider themselves cousins. They love to swim and play "Sharks and Minnows" in the pool. Annually, we host a "cousins' sleepover" where we eat pizza, swim, play games, watch movies, and make chocolate chip pancakes in the morning. It's a big hit every year! We cherish this special time with them and long for the day when we can add a child to these adventures.

Our House and Neighborhood

Home Sweet Home

We fell in love with our home five years ago just before we were married! It is located in a quiet neighborhood with a diverse population and awesome neighbors. There are also many young children on our street. Throughout the day, many families can be seen walking together and with their dogs. Within a block, there is a great elementary school and one of the excellent local high schools is less than a quarter of a mile away. Just down the road is a big park with playground equipment, trails and a lake for children to play. We are 40 minutes from the innovative city of Detroit, which houses the Detroit Zoo, several professional theaters, and professional sports arenas.

In our home, one of the spaces we love the most is the cozy little three-seasons room. Our favorite things to do here are watching movies at night, enjoying Michigan State football games (Go Green!), sipping coffee in the morning, and working on puzzles. Additionally, we have a large backyard with tons of room to run and play and a separate space with a fenced in-ground pool.

The only missing piece is a child to make our home complete!

Our Extended Families

Ice Skating With Family

We are very close with our families. We are both the youngest of three children. Tim has a sister and brother and Anne has two sisters. We love spending time with our seven nieces and nephews. Both of our parents are retired and love spending time with their grandchildren.

Glow Mini Golf With Family

Every summer, we travel with Tim's family to Michigan's Upper Peninsula where Tim's mom was raised and met his dad. On this trip, we enjoy playing board games, swimming, hiking, and eating yummy s'mores at campfires. Then, we travel to Mackinac Island with Anne's family to enjoy biking, hiking, swimming, and eating delicious ice cream.

Our families are our biggest support system and are so encouraging of our adoption plan. They are thrilled to welcome a child into our family. Our dog, Lily, is also excited to expand our family and have a baby brother or sister.

From Us to You

Thank you so much for taking the time to view our profile to get to know us a little better. We hope that this glimpse into our lives provides you with the love, friendship, and laughter we share together. We cannot even begin to imagine the difficult journey you are on, and we thank you for considering adoption and pray for you to make the right decision for you and your child, whatever that may be.

Although we lived in the same city, had similar acquaintances, and went to high schools just a few miles apart, we did not meet until eHarmony matched us. It was a perfect match! We both have similar upbringings focused on the importance of faith, family, and fun. We dated for three years before getting married five years ago. Our families live very close and are an important part of our lives. They are so excited to welcome a child into our family through adoption.

Adoption has been something we discussed while dating, since Anne knew she might not be able to have children. Tim had previously thought about adopting a child as a bachelor since we did not meet until our early 30s. When it became clear that we would not conceive a biological child, we knew we had so much love to give that adoption was the right decision for us to expand our family. We both feel called to adoption and look forward to the joys of parenthood.

Anne is a teacher. She currently teaches 6th grade art in one of the top districts in the State. Throughout her career, she has taught preschool - 12th grade in both theater and art, so she has strong love for children and understands child development. Anne feels blessed that she has a career where she can help children explore their creative side with a schedule that allows for months off work during holidays and summer to spend extra meaningful time with a child. She has fond memories of extra time with her parents in the summers as her parents are retired teachers. In her free time, she loves to read and listen to music, as well as run, bike, hike, swim, and do barre workouts. She's very handy and loves to create a warm, cozy home.

Tim is an engineer and has been with his current company for over seven years. His schedule allows him to be able to go into the office or work from home. In his free time, he loves to listen to music, go on walks and hikes, as well as playing hockey, softball, golf, basketball, and swim. He is an avid sports lover and can't wait to teach a child how to play a variety of sports.

Laughter is vital in our lives. We find that a sense of humor keeps balance in our lives and allows us to get through anything that comes our way. We laugh a lot at ourselves to make each other smile. We love to be silly and dance around the house and make up silly songs about each other and our dog. We can't wait to share laughter with a child.

If you are interested, we would love to meet you in person prior to the arrival of your baby. We will send photos and letters/emails with updates on the child throughout the child's life and are open to phone conversations with the child if that is something you would like. It is so important for the child to know his/her adoption story and about the birth parents to have a healthy sense of self, so we promise to be transparent with the child about his/her adoption, to always speak highly of you so that your baby will know what a strong and selfless woman you are, and to include you in our prayers every day. Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little more about us. We look forward to getting to know you. We would be honored if you chose us to be adoptive parents to your baby.

God Bless,

Tim & Anne
