Chad & Amy
We are so excited to grow our family through adoption. Thank you so much for considering us as potential parents for your child. We feel more ready than ever to welcome a child to our loving home and will be forever grateful to you for giving us that opportunity. We can't wait for the lifelong journey ahead!
Our Favorite Vacation Spot
Our favorite vacation spot is Chad's family cabin in Colorado.
It was built by his great-grandparents for them and their 10 children as a family vacation spot during the summers. It has been passed on through the generations and everyone in Chad's family and extended family has fond memories of going to the cabin every year.
It's a traditional log cabin with a lot of the original furniture and decor. There are photo albums with pictures of Chad's relatives at the cabin throughout the years. Chad's family has roots in farming and ranching and the cabin has lots of history related to their past.
It's such a great place for a family vacation and we can't wait to take our child there and show them all of the beauty Colorado has to offer.
We look forward to the trip every year. We generally drive with our dogs and make a short road trip out of the journey stopping for little adventures along the way. We enjoy hiking, biking, amusement parks, train rides, cave tours and eating at our favorite restaurants while we're there.
Our Promise to You
We promise to love your child with all of our hearts and give them the best life we can possibly imagine.

We promise to provide your child with lots of fun activities. We love going on vacation, spending time with friends and family, and attending sporting events and we can't wait to bring your child into our world.
We promise to provide your child with a loving family. Starting with the two of us and extending through our extended family and friends, your child will be loved by so many people.
Adoption in Our Lives
Chad's aunt Susan, his mom's only sister, was adopted as a baby. His mom remembers her parents bringing her home from the hospital and it was a very exciting time. Since Chad's family has been personally touched by adoption they are even more excited that we have chosen to start our family in the same way.
Our close friend Frank was adopted and feels very fortunate to grow up with his adoptive family and felt a lot of love and support throughout his life. After over 40 years he was able to connect with members of his family from his birth parents and it's been great to share that experience with him. Seeing him connect with his family, and realizing their lifelong desire to find him, has helped us realize the importance an open adoption can be.
Our friends, Erin and Joe, adopted two boys and helped us get started on our journey to adoption. We saw the success they had and the happiness their adopted children brought to their lives and quickly affirmed our feelings that adoption was for us.
The more you talk to people about adoption, the more you learn that adoption touches a lot of different lives. As we've gone through this process, we've met and discovered so many people impacted by adoption and look forward to including ourselves as adoptive parents in the community!
Our House and Neighborhood
We adore our nearly one-hundred-year-old home and unique, friendly neighborhood. With three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, and a great back yard, our home is filled with character and has lots of room for a child to play and grow.
Just outside our front door is one of the most popular walking trails in our city. It provides easy walking and biking access to restaurants, shops, grocery stores and several parks. Our neighborhood has one of the only city pools and that same park offers a great playground and activities for all ages.
Our neighborhood has great pre-schools and elementary schools that we look forward to walking our child to. On the weekends, our favorite bakery is just blocks away and there are plenty of treats we look forward to sharing with our child.
There are lots of families with children in our neighborhood and lots of family focused activities throughout the year. Some that we look forward to sharing with our child include parades for St. Patrick's Day and Independence Day, Thanksgiving Holiday lighting celebration, and trick-or-treating on Halloween. Our neighbors have three young boys that are eager to play our new edition to the neighborhood.
Our Extended Families
We are fortunate to have both of our families nearby. Amy's mom and sister live in the same city we do, and Chad's parents and his middle brother's family live about three hours away by car. Chad's youngest brother and family is about a three-hour plane ride away.
We have four nieces and nephews that we see on holidays throughout the year. We're excited for our child to be able to grow up with cousins that we love and adore.
Our parents and siblings are excited to welcome another child into the family and celebrate birthdays, holidays, and milestones along the way. Chad's parents are always ready for a weekend roadtrip to see their grandchildren. They also love hosting the family holiday events and we are excited for this child to be a part of our traditions.
Chad's grandfather on his mom's side and grandmother on his dad's side are still with us. All of our grandparents played a big role in our upbringing, so we're looking forward to introducing our little one to great-grandparents.
Chad also has a large extended family. Lots of aunts, uncles and cousins that we see throughout the year that will no doubt provide love and support to our child as well.
From Us to You
We met through a mutual friend in 2006, dated for six years, and got married in 2012. Shortly after we got married, Chad's job moved us to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada for three years. The people, the island and the adventures created the experience of a lifetime and we both fell in love with the beauty of the Northwest. When our time in Canada was over, we decided to stay a couple more years, living outside of Seattle, Washington. Eventually, we decided to move back home to the Midwest to be closer to friends and family.
We always knew we wanted children, but after several years without a successful pregnancy, we started exploring the option of adoption. This seemed very natural for us because we have a number of family and friends who were adopted.
Chad has worked with hospitals in Information Technology his entire career. As a consultant, he is constantly teaching people how to use software to better meet their needs. There is no doubt, he will also be a great teacher to a child. From teaching them to read a book, shoot a basketball, or showing them a trick in a video game, Chad is sure to make learning fun. He will be a playful, fun-loving father to your child.
Amy works for a company that buys and manages websites. Her company is entirely remote, which means she's able to work from her home office every day. This gives her a flexible schedule that she'll be able to maintain when she has a child. Amy's most excited about sharing her creative, artsy side with a child. She loves to do art projects, attend plays and musicals, dance and listen to music. She will be a nurturing and compassionate mother to your child.
We are lucky to have a number of supportive family and friends in our lives and they will love your child as much as we do. Great-grandparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins will all be a part of your child's life. Watching them learn and grow every step of the way.
Family traditions are important to us and we can't wait to start sharing them with a child. From holidays like Christmas and Independence Day to family vacations and sporting events, we're looking forward to making more memories.
Our dogs, Bailey and Duke, are also an important part of our lives. We take them with us on vacation whenever we can and love to take Bailey on walks to the park. This is something your child will get to experience and enjoy as well - two built-in best friends from the start.
We welcome you to have an ongoing relationship with your child and think this is important for all of us. We want your child to know who you are and plan to be very open about adoption with them from day one. We're happy to share photos and stories with you regularly and are open to making arrangements for visits when the time is right.
We understand that picking a family for your child can be a very difficult decision and we want to do everything we can to make this the best possible experience for you and your child, not just right now, but throughout your child's life.
Wishing you the very best,
Chad & Amy
