Jonas & Kelly
Hi there! We are a laid-back, down home kind of couple living in Louisiana. You're likely considering many options right now. We know whatever decision you make will be out of the immense love you have for your baby. We truly hope you feel an incredible peace with your decision. We're grateful for the opportunity to share a little about ourselves with you as you consider the future for your child. Thank you!
Religion in Our Lives

Our faith is a very important part of our daily lives. We are very active members of a wonderful church. Jonas and his entire family have been attending there his whole life. We run the sound and media for each service. On Sundays we attend Sunday School, AM service, Discipleship class and evening service. We also attend a Bible study on Wednesday nights.
Our church loves get-togethers and uses every occasion they can find to have one. We love being involved in our church! Each year, we both assist with Vacation Bible School and the Fall Festival. Jonas runs the sound for music and puppets during VBS. Kelly teaches a class and puts together the "big event" at the end of the week. We close out the VBS with a cookout at the church pavilion and themed games for the kids to play. It's always a busy time, but we love planning events! Jonas always helps build the games, and he and his dad pair up to run a game that night.
Fun Facts About Us:

Adoption in Our Lives
When Kelly was young, she found out one of her grandfathers was adopted. After her mom explained what adoption was, Kelly knew immediately that she would adopt someday too. She later found out an older cousin was adopted, her second grade teacher adopted a baby (that she was able to meet), and a few families at her church also adopted about that same time. This just solidified the desire inside her to adopt.
Kelly brought up the topic of adoption early on in the relationship. Jonas agreed it would be a great way to have the large family we wanted, having both biological and adopted children. Very soon after marriage came the infertility diagnosis. Though it was unexpected, it wasn't the end of it all. It just meant skipping the biological child step in growing our family and starting to plan for our family through adoption.

Our House and Neighborhood

We love our home and cannot wait to raise a family here! Our home has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. The rest of the 2,500 square feet holds a wide open floorplan that is great for family get-togethers! We built our home on Jonas' Papaw's land here in Louisiana. Mamaw and Papaw, of course, live on the property, as do Jonas' parents. Though we are fairly close, we can't see each other's homes through all the trees.
His Papaw has about 120 acres with lots of woods and trails around the area, a fishing pond, and a big hayfield (where Jonas likes to go fly his remote control jet). We are just a short trek through the woods to it all!
At our house we have about a full acre cleared, so there is room for our garden and a big yard so a little one can run and play. We just put a large back deck on our place so we can have some family cookouts now too! We love living out here in the country. We call it our "Oasis in the Pines."
Though we are out in the country a little bit, we are still pretty close to town, and about an hour away from larger cities. It's the best of both worlds, near to everything, but none of the traffic and noise.
Our Extended Families

Jonas is an only child. His parents have been married for 41 years. Mamaw and Papaw, Grandma, and his aunt, uncle and two cousins all live here in town, so we see each other often.
At Thanksgiving each year, the whole family goes to the campground and spends the day together, eating and visiting around the campfire until bedtime.

Kelly's parents have been married for 39 years. They currently live in Michigan along with most of Kelly's extended family, which includes numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She also still has both of her grandmothers. Her brother and his family live in Kansas. He just recently adopted his stepson, and they also have a little girl.
We also have a beautiful black and white, very spoiled cat named Miss Kitty.
From Us to You

Thank you so much for taking the time to read our profile and consider us as adoptive parents. We have always dreamed of becoming parents and can't wait to share our love, our faith and our lives with a child.
We have been married for four years and grow closer together every day. We're truly best friends and spend a great deal of our free time enjoying life with each other. Our hope is to continue sharing this "together time" with our future child, growing strong bonds that give him or her a sense of security and confidence as they grow up. We want them to enjoy life, feel comfortable with who they are, and for them to pursue their dreams!
We are also excited to share our love of traveling! We made many happy memories on vacations and road trips throughout our lives and we want to continue traveling with our future little one, allowing them to experience new adventures and make many happy memories of their own.
When at home, we like to spend time swimming at Jonas' parent's house, going four-wheeling on the trails through the woods, working in the garden, or sitting on the back deck looking up at the stars. These simple moments are important to us, and can be amazing times for bonding together and enjoying nature as a family.
Our whole family is excited to gain a new member and looks forward to meeting him or her! The little one would be the first grandchild and great-grandchild on Jonas' side of the family. He or she would be grandchild number three on Kelly's side. We have lost count as to how many great-grandkids it is on Kelly's side of the family, but our little one will be just as loved and welcomed as the rest of them. No such thing as too many babies for a great-grandma to spoil!
There are a few things that we feel are important to mention as you consider us as an option for your child. We do intend for there to be at least one sibling in the future. Also, Kelly will continue to stay at home full-time as a little one joins our family.
Kelly was homeschooled from third grade on. She absolutely loved it! Aside from that, we feel strongly about the benefits of homeschooling. We both wish to pursue that route of education for our future family.
As for communication, we are happy to send pictures and letters/emails if you desire them. We are open to discussing the frequency of communication, a possible visit or two, etc. The most important thing is for the little one to grow up knowing they are loved by all of their family members. We want what is best for them. If chosen, we want him or her to understand from the first moment that they were adopted. It will never be a secret; it is something to be celebrated, a part of who they are. It's their story. You are also part of their story and we never want to take that from them. We will share age appropriate details of their story and answer questions with honesty and openness as they grow and desire to learn more.
We hope this gives you a good idea as to who we are and of the life we would provide for your child if chosen. Thank you for spending a few moments getting to know us! We are grateful for this chance to introduce ourselves to you.
