Andy & Michelle

We are so excited to be parents. Since our first date, we talked about how beautiful of an experience it would be to one day adopt a child. Fast forward 7 amazing years later. We have built a solid marriage full of passion, adventure, and recently purchased a home on 30-acres in the most beautiful small town. We cannot wait to welcome this baby into our loving home and to our wonderful community!

Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other

Best Friends

We look like the exact opposites on paper but in real-life our differences fill in the blanks for the other. Andy is very analytical, patient and thoughtful when it comes to making a decision, but once he reaches an answer you will know it was carefully deliberated on and his commitment to the task, person, or choice will be rock-solid. He is loyal, genuine, and the best friend anyone could ever hope for. He discovers the best in people because he takes the time to really see people on a deeper level. He truly makes all those around feel special and valued.

Michelle is spontaneous, loves change and would hop on a plane tomorrow to pursue an adventure. She believes in living a colorful life. She is a hugger, has a huge smile, loves to dance, cook, decorate, and travel the world. She hopes to live a story worth retelling. A multi-tasker, her energy seems to never run out. She finds reward in completing tasks quickly and loves to pack each day with joy, gratitude, and great meals.

We have always joked that Michelle speeds Andy up and Andy helps slow Michelle down. As individuals we are good, but together we are great! We value all the unique things about one another, realizing that our strengths lie in different areas. Together we create a powerful synergy that comes from a shared faith in God, a foundation of respect and admiration for one another, and the belief that God brought us together to make a perfect whole.

Our Leisure Time

Skiing

Michelle loves to read. So much so that when we recently bought our new home, we built a library. I can remember a program in third grade called, "Book It." Once you read 5 books and wrote 5 reports you received a button you could take into Pizza Hut for a person pan pizza. That program lit a life long passion and appreciation of the world available through literature. Equal to reading and research is also a love to work-out. In our barn we have built a gym. I truly enjoy pushing myself to my full potential. I am no longer in the military, but that discipline of physical fitness has stayed with me. I have competed in triathlons, half-marathons, tough Army training, and 5K's. As a nurse, I believe that mental and physical health is paramount to a great life.

Andy has several hobbies, all of which are his style of personal therapy. His tendency is to rotate every few months. Summer and Spring will almost always find him outdoors fly fishing and or trap shooting. Any other free time is spent in his work shop building (anything). He's self-taught in wood working and likes to joke that his special touch is to make everything slightly crooked. I asked him this morning if he would build a built-in bench for our library; he's thoroughly engrossed in that at the moment.

Together we love to cook, ski, travel, and to have as many adventures as possible.

Why We Chose Adoption

On one of our very first dates we discussed our plans for a future family. Michelle had the persistent feeling that she may never be able to have children of her own, but she wasn’t saddened by that because she knew one day she would be a mom. When she asked Andy how he felt about adoption, he said he would love the child no differently than if it were his own, "and I think that would be really cool!"

Fast forward seven years later.

About one year ago we decided that we would start trying to get pregnant. When that didn't happen naturally, we immediately began to pursue adoption.

We are absolutely thrilled that we are at this point in our lives—ready to start a family. Adoption feels like the path that was always meant for us. We feel adoption would be the greatest gift we could both give and receive; we will do everything humanly possible to provide for this baby so that they would not only know our love, but your love for them, as well.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We live in a small historic town, just 15 minutes from a big city. Our spacious antebellum brick home was built in 1857, but has been completely updated. We have a big kitchen with an island that seats 5 so everyone can gather together come meal time. We have a home library where homework can be quietly done, pictures painted, or just a great place to relax and curl up with a good book. We have three fireplaces so there are ample spaces for conversation, storybook readings, and even roasting marshmallows for s'mores. Our home is nestled on 30-acres full of deer, wild flowers, dozen of bird species, and woods lined with Oak trees, cottonwood, and maple trees to name a few. Our field of alfalfa is especially loved by our resident deer family.

Our property is the perfect place for a child to run, explore, enjoy a bonfire, and to learn about nature firsthand. Although our town has fewer than 2,000 residents the nearby state park, scenic trails, festivals, historic downtown shops, restaurants, and award-winning winery brings thousands of people into our community every season.

We have an excellent public school. The elementary, junior high, and senior high campus are all on one street. It has 632 students in grades PK, K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 10 to 1. Our community playground was recently updated to not only include a wonderful playground but a new basketball and tennis court. We feel incredibly blessed to live here in this beautiful town that celebrates culture, tradition, heritage, but most importantly family values and quality time together.

Our Extended Families

Michelle With Her Nephew & Niece

Our family can be summed up in one word: AWESOME!

Michelle's parents live locally, attend every family event and support us unconditionally. They've had a great relationship for almost 50-years. Michelle has three sisters. Her oldest sister is an attorney and has a 20-year old daughter who is a student. Her middle sister, Julie, is married and has five amazing kids that range in ages from 2-16 years old. Michelle's youngest sister lives a little further away. We still find ways to see each other throughout the year. Recently, the whole family traveled to Nashville for her surprise birthday party.

Christmas With Andy's Family

Andy’s parents are the best parents on Earth. They support us 100 percent in life and are eagerly awaiting this child. Andy has one older sister. She and her husband live within 30 minutes of us and have the sweetest 6-year old daughter. They (along with Andy’s parents) are building homes less than 5 miles from us and are all eager to welcome a new child into the family. Andy is currently helping them build their daughter's treehouse, practice for the several he will no doubt build on our property.

Our family always has each other's back. We laugh together, cry together, celebrate each other's successes and set-backs. Everyone is beyond excited and eager to help us at every step.

From Us to You

Hello!

We are humbled at the opportunity to write and tell you a bit about ourselves. We don't have the words to articulate the admiration we have for you during this emotional time. Know that we are keeping you in our prayers and wish nothing but the best for you and your little one. If you choose to pursue an adoption plan, we would be honored if you would consider us.

We met seven years ago, and during one of our first conversations we discussed the desire to have children and found that we were both strongly in favor of adopting. Our hearts have been and are still centered around a home, family, and the pitter patter of little feet; we will welcome and love this child into our lives just as our own.

While we are far from perfect as individuals, together we form a wonderful team, fitting together like a perfect jigsaw puzzle. Our weaknesses are the other's strengths, and the areas where one lacks, the other fills. While we bring a variety of interests into our marriage, we are rock solid on our core values which are faith, family, and a strong work ethic.

Family is a large part of our lives. We have four sisters between us and nine nieces and nephews ranging in age from 2 to 20 years old, (the majority of whom live within 20 minutes of our home). Our family is beyond excited to welcome a new baby into the family. Your baby will be loved and cared for by nothing less than a small tribe of aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and grandparents. We take vacations together as a family and are excited to watch the child's first steps into the ocean or watch them snow ski as they make their way down the bunny slopes.

Our house sits on 30 acres that would be a wonderland to a child. Woods, a creek, and a soon to be tree house will provide hours, days and weeks of exploration time. We know this is just a small slice written on a piece of paper, but hope that you are able to see the life that we would love to provide for your child.

We'd like to make a commitment to you. That your child will be the center of our lives and we will love and care for him or her as our own. We will provide an environment that will allow the child to grow into who God made them to be; along the way, we'll make sure they receive unconditional love, structure, and support so that they will one day live a confident life of their own. We will take joy in sending you letters, photos and videos on a regular basis, and are open to more interaction.

From both of us, we are honored that you are reading this. This is much bigger than us; we want what is best for your child, whether you feel that is our home or elsewhere. We'll be praying for you.

All our best,

Andy & Michelle
