Brandon & Kara
We warmly thank you for reading about our family and considering us as potential parents for your child! Three years ago, we were extremely blessed to adopt our baby girl and we are excited to grow our family once again through the gift of adoption. We have an excitement for life and look forward to inviting you on this journey with us.
Adoption in Our Lives
Without adoption we would not have the most amazing experience in the world of loving and raising our daughter. Caring for and watching her grow, even in just the first three years of her life, has taught us infinitely more about love than any other experience in life. We absolutely adore putting her at the center of our world and gearing our daily activities and weekend trips around her. Words cannot express how much we appreciate and are humbled by her birth mother’s courage. We think of her often and love sharing all of Adelynn’s special moments through pictures we upload to a sharing website and the letters and photographs we mail. We are thankful to have photographs of her birth mother as well as letters and other special keepsakes. We treasure these items and keep them safe so our daughter will always have a piece of her birth mother. We love showing Adelynn pictures of her birth mother as we read her children’s books about adoption and talk about her wonderful story and how much we admire and respect her birth mother. We know Adelynn will have more questions as she gets older and it gives us comfort to know we will always have her birth mother in our lives. We are beyond blessed for the privilege of raising our little girl and it is the gift of adoption that made it possible.
Our lifestyle makes the most of utilizing body, spirit, and mind each and every day. During any given weekday, Kara enjoys catching a Texas sunset riding her bike along the plains, catch a yoga class in the evening, or cook a wonderful homemade meal from her recipe book for the family. Brandon likewise takes daily adventures with our daughter Adelynn, taking her to gymnastics, soccer, and swim lesson offered in town. When not exploring with her, Brandon takes our dog for walks and is seen consistently with a book in his hand before bed. Weekends are split between a planned trip in the Central Texas area or relaxing at home or taking a family walk. We regularly look for ways to stay active in the community and enjoy meeting new people. Every day is a new opportunity to grow in one aspect or another, and a privilege to raise a son or daughter in.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other
Brandon About Kara: Kara is a wonderful partner to have in life, a true source of inspiration every day. I love her passion for life and excitement for adventure. She is naturally optimistic, which I appreciate as a blessing. Her dedication to public service is not just an aspect of her career, but a way she reveals her big heart and care for others. She has a compassionate nature and takes pleasure in simple things like a warm blanket and cuddles from our little one and fuzzy one. I’m so proud of her accomplishments as a woman in our armed services. She is my best friend and helps me become the man I want to be. She is an exceptional role model and terrific mother.
Kara About Brandon: Brandon is a remarkable spouse, father, teacher, brother and son. He is a natural caregiver - patient and loving. He cares deeply about being the very best father - always putting in extra effort to research and seek advice to ensure we raise our daughter to the very best of our ability and goes out of his way to make every day special for her. He loves to read and learn, sharing with me stories from his books with joy and enthusiasm. Lastly, I love Brandon’s sense of humor. He has a unique ability to see life from a fun perspective, providing witty commentary that can lighten any mood. Brandon’s well-rounded personality make him an enjoyable life-long companion I am proud to call my husband.
Our House and Neighborhood
We in live San Angelo, Texas which is a hidden gem as a family-oriented community that embraces the Southwest culture with an active and fun atmosphere. Located on the Concho river with three surrounding lakes, San Angelo supplies our family with beach days, camping opportunities, and a river walk lined with playgrounds for cool evening walks. A diverse community, San Angelo offers festivals, weekly farmer markets and restaurant choices that keep our family busy. It’s been a great launching point for exploring all of Texas, an easy drive to Abilene, San Antonio, Austin, and the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
We live within minutes of Goodfellow Air Force Base in a safe military community with neighbors literally from across the country. Any given day our daughter has no less than three parks and playgrounds to choose from within walking distance, and playmates that come from all walks of life and experiences. Our three bedroom/three bathroom ranch single-family home offers dedicated space for play as well as personal and family space.
We feel blessed to live in such a unique area and look forward to sharing it with another child!
Our Extended Families
We are blessed to have supportive, committed, and loving families. Kara has a very large family, including loving grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, most of whom live in Northwest Indiana. We are very close with Kara’s recently retired parents and enjoy visiting them in Indiana or at their second home in Florida. We are also close to Kara’s two older brothers, their wives, and amazing children ... five nephews and two nieces ranging in age from 17 to 5! We enjoy playing games with Kara’s family - our favorite is a particular card game that Kara’s Grandmother started and now the whole family plays.
We are also very close to Brandon’s family. His wonderful parents and two younger brothers all live near Denver, Colorado. Both of his brothers are married, both with a girl and a boy ranging in age from 7 to 3 months! Brandon’s whole family are avid sports fans and we enjoy watching our favorite teams together.
We absolutely love being auntie and uncle to our nieces and nephews as well as to many of our friend’s children. We both grew up with extremely caring families and remain very close today. Living in a different state, we take regular trips home during the holidays and love hosting friends and family throughout the year.
From Us to You
We are so grateful and appreciate your time considering our family as your babies’ adoptive parents! We feel we have been blessed with love, financial stability, opportunity, and are excited at the prospect of sharing our joy for life with another child through the gift of adoption.
We have been married for over 12 years and are still very much in love. Early in our marriage, we had an opportunity to live in the United Kingdom and travel around Europe. We are very thankful for this time as it was a great way to learn about each other and develop a strong marriage foundation.
Growing our family through adoption is something that we had talked about for years and in 2018 our dream came true. Our daughter and her birth mother have been such a blessing to us, we wouldn’t have it any other way. Adopting our little girl has given new meaning to word love. Having experienced how adoption has deepened our hearts and enriched our lives, we are ready and excited to expand our family once again. We are thankful to have a great relationship with Adelynn’s birth mother and love sharing all of her many milestones. We celebrate adoption as God’s plan for our family and will continue to have an open atmosphere in our home where adoption concerns can be freely expressed. We will always show our respect and gratitude towards you as we do with Adelynn’s birth mother. In addition to pictures and letters, we are open to more contact, such as exchange of emails or phone calls, at your discretion. We understand this is likely the most difficult decision you have ever had to make and we want to ensure you have what you need to feel comfortable.
We are proud to be a unique family. Brandon is a stay at home dad and Kara is an active-duty Air Force officer. As a military family, we typically move every 2-3 years. Kara’s job is very stable, providing a great community and housing, as well as benefits such as health insurance and the G.I. bill. Although we enjoy the adventures of moving around, we are thankful that Kara will be eligible for military retirement in just 4 more years. This will be great timing, allowing our family to settle down and Kara to become a full-time mom. In the near future, we are thankful that Brandon’s career is flexible, allowing him to renew his career as a teacher where we settle down. As a teacher, Brandon enjoys summer’s off and with Kara being able to retire at a young age, we daydream of one day soon taking summer-long family vacations.
We pride ourselves on living a balanced life. Although we are both professionals, we identify most with what we do when we are not working. Our marriage is built on love, respect, and patience and we promise to model these principles for your child. We live our lives grounded in Christian values of faith and love, and intend to instill these same principles in raising our family. We enjoy spending time together as a family, to included our daughters romping pal (our 6-year-old English Bulldog), and a small fish she enjoys feeding each night. Although we enjoy an active lifestyle filled with travel and fun, some of our favorite memories include quiet hikes, camping, and watching Disney movies. At the heart of this family is quality time spent together over two cups of warm tea and one glass of milk.
Thank you for looking through our profile, we hope it gives you a small glimpse into our life. Your courage, selflessness, and bravery is inspiring. We recognize how difficult a decision this will be and we will be praying that you receive the guidance and support you need to determine what is best for you and your child. Both you and your child are a blessing and we are excited to be a part of this journey as we search our hearts and minds for God’s plan.
