Roshan & Maggie

We are so excited to begin our adoption journey. We believe we have an abundance of love to share with another child. Family means the world to us. We both grew up with siblings who play an important role in our lives which is why we strongly want to expand our family. We know this is a big decision for you and we hope that you will consider our family as a home for your child.

Why We Chose Adoption

Our Family

We have a daughter whose name is Meredith. She is 10-years-old and in the fourth grade. Her favorite subject is science and her favorite sport is soccer. She loves to play sports, especially soccer, basketball, volleyball and swimming. She enjoys playing with her friends and is kind to everyone. We are very blessed to have her and could not imagine our life without her.

We have been trying to expand our family for the last eight years. From the day our daughter was born, we knew we wanted to have many children. We struggled with fertility issues, going through many rounds of IVF. We would get pregnant but could not sustain the pregnancies. We have so much love to give another child and we want Meredith to experience the joys of having a sibling. We both have siblings who mean so much to us that we want her to experience the same type of relationships. There is nothing better than knowing someone will always be there to experience life’s ups and downs. We are so excited to be on this adoption journey and we cannot wait to add another child to our family!

Our Leisure Time

Playing Basketball

We are a very active family. We enjoy spending time outside riding bikes and taking long walks. We have many parks near our home where we explore the outdoors. Horseback riding is a favorite activity of ours. We also enjoy spending time at the beach enjoying the ocean.

Horseback Riding

Meredith is a very active 10-year-old who enjoys playing soccer, basketball, swimming, and volleyball. Roshan enjoys lending a hand with the coaching duties that come along with having a daughter who participates in many sports. Maggie is always on the sidelines cheering Meredith on and supporting Roshan. Maggie and Meredith love to bake and prepare meals together.

Maggie enjoys volunteering at Meredith's school as a recess monitor. It is important to Maggie to see Meredith interacting with her peers in the school setting.

Adoption in Our Family

Brian, Ian & Jenn

Maggie's sister, Jenn, and her husband adopted their son, Ian, in 2005. It was an incredible experience. The journey to his adoption was full of ups and downs but ultimately brought Ian to our family. Ian was born three weeks early in the middle of a winter storm. Jenn and Brian drove through the night to get to the hospital. They arrived a few hours after his birth and fell in love with him as his birth mother handed him to Jenn. Maggie and her mom flew to Ian's birth city where they helped when Ian was sent home from the hospital. They had to stay in his birth city for two weeks before they were able to go home. Ian was the only grandchild for a year and was doted on by everyone. He is now a 15 year old handsome boy who is an honor student and a great cousin, nephew and godchild. Ian is the light of Jenn and Brian's life. He has brought joy to our entire family.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We live in a two-story home in a subdivision in the suburbs. Our house is on a court that is full of children. There are children of all ages in our neighborhood with many moms with babies on the way. Our daughter, Meredith, spends lots of time outside playing with friends and riding her bike. We live near many parks where we spend time hiking and riding our bikes together. Playgrounds are within walking distance from our home. We enjoy spending time outside when possible.

We love spending time together. Our neighborhood is full of trick or treaters on Halloween. Meredith's school hosts a trunk or treat annually that we attend. This gives us a chance to spend time with her friends from school. We also enjoy going on hayrides and hanging out around the firepit. Our neighborhood celebrates many holidays by putting up decorations and hosting different events from making homemade valentines to Breakfast with Santa.

We have four bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs. Our main floor has a family room, kitchen, laundry room, dining room, and sitting room. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen making meals and baking with family and friends. Meredith has claimed half of our finished basement as her playroom and the other half as a family gathering area. We enjoy playing board games and watching movies together.

Our Extended Families

Thanksgiving With Family

We spend a lot of time with our extended families. Maggie has two siblings, Jenn and Matt. Jenn and her family live five minutes from us so we see them a lot, often having family dinners on Sundays. Jenn is married to Brian and they have a son named Ian. Maggie's brother, Matt, and his family live about 30 minutes away from us. We see them monthly for game nights. Matt and his wife have two daughters, Lola and Quinn which makes for exciting cousin time.

Fun With Cousins

Roshan's family still live in India. We Facetime with them weekly and usually visit yearly. Roshan's sister, Rashmine, is married and has two children who also live in India. Our daughter has special bonds with all of her cousins often texting and Facetiming them.

When Roshan moved to the United States in 2000, he met Brian. Brian's family took him in and made him feel at home. We often refer to Brian as his American brother. Brian is married to Diana and they have two daughters, Shannon and Erin. Roshan also developed a very close relationship with Brian's parents, Jim and Sue. Holidays and special events are shared with Jim and Sue. We consider them to be our family. Our daughter, Meredith, refers to them as Grandma Sue and Grandpa Jim.

From Us to You

Thank you so much for reading this letter. We admire your strength and courage for considering adoption and we look forward to sharing a glimpse into our lives with you.

We are Roshan and Maggie. We are the proud parents of Meredith, our 10-year-old daughter. We have always known we wanted multiple children and began trying to have another child a few years after the birth of our daughter. However, we were met with fertility issues and have not been able to have another child. Adoption is already a part of our extended family, which is what led us to pursue this path. We are very ready to expand our family and look forward to welcoming another child into our family!

We live in a two-story house with many rooms for children to grow, love and learn with one another. You can often times hear lots of laughter and learning in our home. We eat dinner together nightly, go for walks, and Meredith plays with our neighbors in the cul-de-sac.

Family is an important part of our lives. We are very close with our siblings, their spouses, nieces and nephews. We often go to soccer games to cheer on family members. We also enjoy getting together for dinner and games. We celebrate holidays and birthdays with our extended families. Christmas Eve is celebrated at Maggie's Aunt Jane's house with many extended family members. We also celebrate with Roshan's family on Christmas Eve. Christmas Day is always spent at Maggie's brother's house opening presents, having dinner, and sharing memories of past Christmases. Family is very important to us and we enjoy spending time with one another and making memories together.

We believe that a strong education is essential and intend on giving our children the best we can. Roshan enjoys working on math and science with Meredith by making it fun to learn. Spelling games and math facts are often practiced in the car on the way to or after school activities. Maggie often takes Meredith to school and Roshan is able to pick her up from school. She comes home from school, has a snack, and does her homework so she has the rest of the evening for playing with friends or going to sports practices. Meredith enjoys riding her bike and playing tag with the neighborhood kids. We are all excited to welcome another child into our family.

We enjoy going on vacations often traveling to different beaches. We enjoy both the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. Walking along the beach and listening to the ocean brings much happiness to our family. We like to explore and look for seashells and different treasures brought in by the ocean. Many hours have been spent building sandcastles and learning to ride the waves. We want to share these experiences with another child.

We know that this is going to be a difficult decision for you to make. We will provide a happy, healthy, and loving home for your child. We want you to know that we think you are very brave and loving. You only want what is best for your child and we will relay that to him/her daily. We will love, cherish, and support your child forever. Your child will always be considered the best gift our family will ever receive. We would be very happy to send you pictures, letters, emails, and phone calls throughout the years.

Thank you for considering us as you look to place your child in a good home. We wish you all the best as you reflect on your decision.

Sincerely,

Roshan & Maggie
