Our Lifestyle

Hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park

We feel so fortunate to have the lifestyle we have today. We both worked extremely hard early in our lives to be in the position we are in with our careers. We enjoy being with friends and family as much as possible. Our house has become the hub for most of our friends, family and neighbors. During those times we are watching college football, basketball, playing games or just enjoying listening to music on the patio.

Traveling to new places is always a priority each year. Amy loves the beach and Jason loves the mountains. That allows us to explore all kinds of new places. Jason also loves woodworking and spends his spare time building new things for us or friends and family. There seems to always be a project or two going on around the house for him to work on. Mostly we are just laid back and enjoy what life offers.

Cultural Diversity

We both grew up with diversity in our lives and feel that it has made us who we are today. We believe it is important to embrace all cultures within our lives. Knowing that this child could have a different cultural background than us is exciting. It allows us to learn and share throughout the child’s life. In our minds, it will be important for this child to be around all different races and cultures, most importantly their own. We will constantly make this a focus in the child’s life. Our main focus will be teaching them above everything to show love, empathy, and be kind to one another no matter race, cultural differences, financial status, or background.

Why We Chose Adoption

So Happy Together

Adoption was one of the first discussions we had when we started trying to have a baby. We knew going in that if we weren’t able to have a baby on our own that we wanted to explore adoption. We have friends that adopted their son a couple of years ago and it has been such an amazing experience to watch. We have learned so much from them and their experiences with the process.

We did try for over two years to have a baby of our own and it just didn’t work out for us. While disappointing, it confirmed that adoption was the right choice to start our family. More than anything we just want to have a child join our family and experience all the love and joy that they will bring. We want to share how incredibly loved they are from both their biological family and ours.

Our Extended Families

Amy's Family

We are so blessed to have a great support system in our family and friends. Both of our parents live within 15 minutes of us. We try to get together at least once or twice a month to cook out, meet up for breakfast, or hang out and catch up. When we first told our family we wanted to adopt they were all so excited. They have been anxiously waiting for us to bring kids into our family. They ask us weekly for an update on the process!

Hanging Out with Our Niece

Amy’s brother lives in Ohio with his wife and two kids. He is a Colonel in the Air National Guard and an F-16 pilot. We make a point to see them at least three times a year during the summer and holidays. We are very close to our niece and nephew and enjoy attending their activities, playing with them, and watching them grow. When we can’t be together, we FaceTime and message to stay connected.

Our close friends are also excited about our decision to adopt. The time we spend with our friends is often action-packed. They all have young kids so they are full of energy and ready to play. Weekends in the fall are spent with our close friends and their families watching college football either at our house or tailgating before the game.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We just finished building our dream home in late 2019. We built it with kids in mind. We added a jack and jill bathroom as well as a large playroom. We love to host family and friends so we designed the house with lots of space for entertaining. In total, we have four bedrooms, two game rooms, and an amazing patio and yard. We are putting a pool in later this year.

The Only Thing Missing is the Pitter-Patter of Tiny Feet

The neighborhood is filled with families and kids of all ages. It is located right across the street from a highly rated K-8 school. We have a neighborhood pool, playground, and two ponds for fishing and kayaking. Throughout the year our neighborhood will bring in food trucks and host block parties. It is such a welcoming community and you will always see friendly people out walking, running, or riding bikes. We are centrally located and love to explore our city and try new things.

From Us to You

There is no way we could ever imagine what you are going through to make this tough decision. Know that we value and appreciate you and the strength it must take to choose a different path for your child. The most important thing we want you to take away from our profile is that we will always try our hardest to provide the best life possible for your child.

We will make sure they have every opportunity in life. Stressing the importance of education not only in school but in life lessons. We will encourage and support everything they show interest in. We plan to expose them to the world and different cultures through lots of travel and events. We both enjoy traveling ourselves and can’t wait to let your child experience that with us.

We know life will have its ups and downs. But the one thing we can promise is that we will be there through both. Helping them through the tough times with advice, a shoulder to cry on, or an ear to listen. And at the same time celebrating the good times and achievements they have along the way. No matter what, they will know that we will always be there for them.

We have been together for almost four years and married for over two. Believe it or not, we started talking about how important kids were to us on our first official date. It didn’t take us long to realize how much love and respect we had for each other and how much we had in common. We share so many of the same goals which include starting a family.

Our lives have been filled with many different experiences. We both feel that we have learned from every up and down and can bring what we have learned into raising children. We have been blessed with successful careers and feel extremely fortunate in our lives today. We feel parenthood would be our greatest adventure and accomplishment

The support system we are surrounded by is full of family and extremely close friends. All of our friends have kids right now and just can’t wait to be a part of our adoption journey. We know having that support along the way will make things so much easier.

We want you to feel comfortable and know that you are making the best decision for you and your child. We are prepared to be as open as you would like us to be during and after the adoption. We will definitely share pictures and updates through email and/or phone calls, but we are also open to future visits. If you want less contact, we will understand and respect that as well.

We want nothing more than to be parents. Our road to parenthood so far has been tough but it led us to adoption and confirmed for us that this was the path we were meant to take. Raising and caring for a child is a big responsibility and one that we are ready for. We know that we are not perfect people but will try our hardest to continue to learn and challenge ourselves with being the best parents we can be for your child.

With love,

Jason & Amy
