Ryan & Lindsay

Thank you for taking the time to consider us as a family for your child! We have always wanted a big family, and we are excited to begin our journey to parenthood through adoption. We can't wait to share laughs, adventure, and lots of love with a child. To be chosen as parents for your little one would be the greatest blessing in the world to us. We are so grateful for your consideration!

Our Leisure Time

Exploring the Pacific Coast

In our leisure time we enjoy a mix of quiet home activities and getting out for some adventure. We've started spending a lot of time out on our deck, grilling up some good food, and relaxing with our dogs. We also have several board games and card games that we can't wait to share with our child, though we can get a little competitive! We love to cook up some snacks and treats whenever we decide to have a game night. We both also enjoy reading and have shelves full of books.

Our two favorite outdoor activities are hiking and camping. Luckily we are surrounded by trails and camping spots so there's always somewhere new to go. Our camping days our usually spent exploring, but at night we love to roast s'mores over the fire. We also like going to the movies, and we can't wait to take our little one to our favorite theater--it has the most delicious chocolate popcorn!

We are also pretty active with a couple of the local nonprofits. Lindsay has volunteered with and fundraised for Girls on the Run the past six years, and we've been fostering for a local senior dog rescue since 2016. It's how we found our Scrappy and Juno pups!

Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other

Out on an Adventure

Lindsay About Ryan: What I love and admire most about Ryan is his courageous and adventurous spirit. He's never afraid to try something new or visit an unfamiliar place (even if he doesn't know the language). He challenges me to try new things, and I can't wait to see how he inspires our child to be brave and open-minded when faced with new experiences. Ryan is one of the hardest working people I know, and his motivation has always been taking care of our family. I so appreciate how supportive he's always been of my personal dreams and goals in life, and I know he'll make an incredible dad.

Ryan About Lindsay: What I love most about Lindsay is that she's so passionate about her interests. When she takes on something, she puts everything into it and this includes her time as a teacher. She loves her kids, as she calls them, and she puts so much time and energy into taking care of them, not just academically but by also making sure they feel safe, supported, and loved. She lights up when she talks about their class musicals and plays because it combines her passion for working with children with her love of music and performing. Lindsay will love being able to share books, music, and dancing with our child.

Our Pets

Scrappy & Juno

Our pets are such an important part of our lives. We each grew up with pets, and now we can't imagine our home without them. We've had our sweet kitty Chloe since she was a kitten. She is about 14 years old now, but you'd never know it given her endless energy! She's often racing through the house or tossing around her toy mice, and when she finally catches one, she eagerly brings them to us. It's the cutest thing!

Our dog Scrappy came to us as a temporary foster for a local rescue. He was only supposed to be with us for a few months, but we absolutely fell in love with him and decided we had to adopt him ourselves. When he's not napping, he's happily wiggling and bouncing around with excitement for treats and adventures outside. He's also the BEST snuggler!

We also have a lab named Juno who's just the sweetest pup. She's so calm, gentle, and enjoys napping in front of fans, but she also loves being with her people and really enjoys going out for walks and hikes, too. We feel so blessed to be chosen as her forever family through a local senior dog rescue.

One of our favorite things to do as a family at home is to sit outside on the deck with our pups. They love being able to check out what's happening in the neighborhood while we all soak up some sunshine!

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home in Nature

We live in a quiet rural neighborhood about 30 minutes outside a major city in Washington state. This means we get the best of both worlds! We look forward to taking our little one to cheer on our big league sports teams and to visit museums in the city--the science center is a blast for kids! But, we're also close to ample hiking and camping spots, our two favorite family activities. In fact, it's not unusual to spot wildlife like deer, rabbits, and bobcats wandering through our yard!

We absolutely love our home, which we recently bought in the hopes of growing our family. In addition to 4 bedrooms and 3½ bathrooms, we have a recreation room, bonus room, and family room. We spend a lot of time hanging out in the family room watching movies, reading, and playing with our pets. We also love spending time on the back deck that looks out to a mountain—we often see paragliders soaring down from the top!

Our neighborhood is full of families with young children, and the excellent school district was a big factor in our decision to live here. There is a neighborhood park, playground, and pool to enjoy when the weather is nice, and each year our community hosts several events and activities for families, especially the kids. We can't wait to start new family traditions, and take our little one to the Halloween Trick-or-Treat party and the Easter Egg Hunt!

Our Extended Families

Lindsay & Her Parents

Our extended family is such an important part of our life. While we don't live near our families, we take every opportunity we can to visit them in our home state, as well as have them come stay with us. Our parents' retirement has made traveling so easy, and we love being able to continue our favorite family activities and holiday traditions with them. Swimming at the beach, family cookouts, movie nights, board games, and riding all the rides at theme parks are just some of the fun things our family loves to do when we get together. Lindsay's mom will sew the baby a new Christmas stocking, as she's done for every other member of our family, and she'll even bake the child's favorite birthday cake every year, even into adulthood! Ryan's parents are excited to share their love of the local sports teams that we cheered on as kids. Our family has been so supportive of our adoption plan and is thrilled to welcome a new grandchild. We can't wait to introduce this child to Ganna and Papa (Lindsay's parents) and Gigi and Grandaddy (Ryan's parents), who we've been privileged to witness become the most loving and supportive grandparents to our three nephews. This child also has some very excited aunts and uncles ready to spoil a new little one, while supporting us on our journey into parenthood. We are incredibly blessed to have such a wonderful family already filled with so much love for this child.

With Ryan's Family

From Us to You

Thank you for taking the time to learn about our family. We are humbled by your consideration and admire your courage because we know this isn't an easy decision for you. You have our highest respect and gratitude for your selflessness.

We have been married 10 years, and we dated for 7 years prior to that. We met in college after we were both hired by a local record store, and about 4 months later we began dating. During those 7 years of dating we experienced many highs and also some lows, but our relationship only grew stronger through it all. Those experiences, coupled with our independent natures, really shaped our belief that marriage was the right choice for us. We have a healthy balance of taking care of our relationship and each other, while being supportive and encouraging each other's individual interests. About eight years ago, Ryan had the opportunity to work for a company across the country from where we lived. As scary as it was to leave our family behind, we made the move and are so happy we did. Our bond as a couple has grown even stronger spending these past years in a place without our family nearby. Of course we miss our family every day, but we also love where we live and the new house we bought last year.

We can't wait to share our world with a little one. After moving in to our new home, we've felt an emptiness that we so much want to fill with the energy and joy of a child. Camping, game nights, dance parties, and family trips remind us of the fun we had a kids, and we are excited to do those things with our own child. Our nursery is ready, and our support system of family and friends is ready, too. Even our pets can't wait to welcome a new sibling to the family, frequently lounging in the nursery. This baby is loved so much already, and even though we know parenthood isn't always easy, we are ready to take on the challenge.

One of the things we love most about children is their curiosity. As parents we want to do all we can to encourage this love of learning, and we want to provide every opportunity we can for a child to experience as much as possible of the world around them. We will do this by reinforcing the importance of hard work, respect for others, compassion, and service toward making the world a better place for all. We believe that our job as parents is to raise a child who has a strong sense of self, while also being a productive, kind, and helpful member of the community because, as the statement goes, we rise by lifting others.

Please know that you will always play an important part in your child's life and ours, and we want to honor that connection. We will send letters and photos so that you can see your child's growth over the years, and we're happy to keep in touch by email as well. We're also open to arranging visits in the future, if and when the time is right. We are very flexible and truly want to work together with you to create the best relationship for this child. We promise that our words and actions will always reflect our gratitude and respect for you. Your child will know how much love you have for them and how that love guided your decision to consider an adoption plan.

Thank you again for getting to know our family a little better, and for considering us as possible parents for your child. We can't wait to share all the love we have with a little one, and we promise to always provide a safe, nurturing, supportive, and fun home for your child. We know this is a difficult decision for you, and we are keeping you in our hearts and prayers as you navigate this journey.
