Tim & Constance

Hello! We would like to express our gratitude for being considered. We believe parenting is the greatest joy and biggest adventure we will ever experience. We are bursting with excitement to welcome a child into our lives and look forward to sharing everything we have to offer. The child will be surrounded by love and laughter, given the space to explore, learn and play and most importantly have the freedom to be themselves.

How Adoption has Affected Us Personally

Constance with Her Biological Mother and Brother

Constance had a pleasant adoption experience and to this day has very positive feelings about it. She was adopted at birth and had a closed adoption which was the norm at the time. Her adoptive parents formed a strong bond with her birth mother prior to the birth and they agreed to remain in contact by sending family photos monthly for the first few years. Constance’s birth mother contacted her on the night of her 18th birthday and there was an instant connection. Constance met her birth mother and 2 brothers a few years later. There was so much happiness and love there. Constance visits yearly and stays in constant contact with them. Her birth family flew out to be a part of our wedding! She believes that this opportunity to have a relationship with them is an added bonus with extra love, laughs and support.

She also found it comforting that she was able to learn more about her family history, where she came from and who she looks like! Her adoptive parents were also extremely supportive of her choice to pursue a relationship with her biological family. While she understands that it was a little scary at first for everyone, she is beyond grateful for the way things turned out. Both of us have extended family members (Cousins, Aunt) who have been adopted as well. Their experiences, while different from Constance’s, were all positive and give us more resources and experiences to pull from with our own journey.

Our Family Traditions

We Love Spring Training Baseball

We love holidays and traditions and have several that are near and dear to our hearts but the one that we love the most is Thanksgiving. Constance’s family rents a beach house in Santa Barbara, California, and each year the family travels from all over to spend the week together. Constance’s dad makes Chili on Wednesday night, her Uncle Jim deep-fries the turkey and everyone gathers at the table for the “thankful circle” where we share what each person is thankful for. It is an amazing environment and is the perfect time to recharge, feel the sand between your toes, and watch the dolphins play while watching the sunset.

Tim’s family has a long-standing tradition of participating in fantasy sports. Whether it is Baseball, Football or Hockey, bragging rights are always up for grabs. We love to travel and in our four years of marriage, we have started a tradition of purchasing one item to bring home from each trip to remember it by. In Italy, it was a beautiful vase from the famous glass-blowing island of Murano (next to Venice). In Breckenridge, Colorado we picked up one of our favorite Christmas ornaments that we hang on our tree each year. We are so excited for a child to be part of all of these traditions and to start some new ones!

Our Favorite Vacation Spot

Sedona Fall Scenery

While we enjoy traveling to new places and experiencing everything from beaches to mountains, wilderness to big cities, there is one place that we visit multiple times each year: Sedona, AZ. Tim’s family has a timeshare in Sedona, so we are able to go up there multiple times a year for a weekend getaway. It’s only an hour and a half drive from our house, so sometimes we will just head up for the day to hike and grab lunch. It holds a special place in our hearts, it was our first trip together when we were dating, where Tim proposed to Constance and where we plan to take the child on their first trip. Known for the Red Rocks and beautiful views, Sedona has over 400 miles of hiking trails.

While we love to explore new hikes and areas of the city, you can also find us hitting some of our favorite spots like the Fay Canyon hike or dinner at Mariposa. For us, Sedona is always a peaceful, relaxing place that continues to bring us so much joy. The moment we turn the corner and see the towering red rocks, all of our troubles melt away and we feel such an immense sense of calm and healing energy. We are so excited to take a child there and continue our love of this place.

Our Extended Families

Constance and Tim's Parents at the Wedding

Family is an important part of our lives. Tim's parents and his older brother live about 45 minutes away here in Arizona. Brian (Tim's brother) and his wife Lisa have two girls (Hannah is 4, Emily is 2). Lisa is a fabulous cook and baker, so we love getting together for family dinners to eat her incredible food. We are so excited for this child to get to grow up with cousins in town! Tim's parents babysit any chance they get and are eagerly awaiting their chance with this child.

Extended Family Celebration

Constance grew up as an only child and her parents are just a short flight or drive away in California. We typically see them a few times a year and trade-off going to California to visit them and hosting in Arizona. Constance was adopted and has a relationship with her birth mother, Emily who lives in Georgia. Her biological brother, Hunter lives next door to Emily and has three children. We feel very fortunate to have them in our lives and look forward to this child getting to know them as well. Everyone in our extended family is so excited and supportive of our adoption plan. They can not wait to be part of the child's life and look forward to a bundle of joy to spoil with love!

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We may “live” in the Arizona desert but we often forget that we do! Our neighborhood of McCormick Ranch is located in Scottsdale, known as “the most livable city”. Our quiet neighborhood is lush, safe and welcoming. We have 3 gorgeous parks with newly remodeled play structures for children just steps from our home. We have access to “the greenbelt” which is an oasis of parks, lakes and paths that traverse 11 miles through Scottsdale, just a short walk/bike ride away.

Our suburban neighborhood is full of young families who enjoy celebrating & decorating for holidays, taking family walks with their children, and can often be found playing together in our parks. Families join together for trick or treating and take part in the neighborhood's annual Holiday Magic gathering where friends and neighbors can enjoy food, music and lots of snow! It is a dream of ours to raise a child in a place where they can make and play with neighborhood friends as well as take part in great holiday traditions.

Our cozy house is recently remodeled with an open floor plan. It has a welcoming kitchen and dining area, a spacious living room and three large bedrooms. Our backyard is our sanctuary. The walls are lined with bright green hedges and there is ample room to run and play on the grassy lawn. When the weather is good, you can find us outside lounging on our patio furniture and roasting marshmallows by the fire pit.

From Us to You

Thank you for allowing us to share with you a little bit about ourselves. We realize that you have a difficult decision ahead of you and we admire your courage and strength. We hope that learning more about us will give you peace of mind as you make this decision. If selected and time allows, if you would like to meet us in person, that is something we would welcome during our journey together.

We met in Arizona after college and got married in October of 2016. We spent the first few years of our marriage taking the opportunity to travel and focus on being Husband and Wife. From stateside to Italy to the Caribbean and French Polynesia, we thoroughly enjoyed getting to visit and experience these different places and cultures. We plan to travel with the child and give them the opportunity to see the world and all it has to offer. We were also able to buy a home and are very excited to start our family in it.

We both graduated from the same university. Constance got her degree in Elementary Education while Tim got his degree in Marketing with a minor in Communications. Constance started her own tutoring/educational services company in 2020. She works directly with the students in their home, doing everything from homework and online school support to skills-based help (math, reading, writing, etc.). Before starting her business, Constance was a teacher for 9 years from grades Pre-K to 3rd. For the last 4 years, Tim has worked as a Product Manager for a Surgical Drill and works remotely from our home. He is responsible for about half the country as well as Canada and travels in to support surgery with his sales representatives and surgeons when needed. Before that, he worked for a surgical instrument distributor as a sales representative for 4 years in Arizona.

For the last several years we have tried to start our family but were unable to conceive biological children. Given Constance’s experience with her own adoption and both of our extended families who have had experience with it, we were ready to take the next step in our journey. We know that adoption will be an amazing experience and we cannot wait to share our love with a child.

For a future child, we value the importance of education, strong character, and open-mindedness. We are committed to encouraging a child in their interests and endeavors. We also want to ensure that the child is supported, loved, and cared for so this child can reach their full potential as a productive, responsible, and caring person.

You are significant to us and always will be. We will share with you the child’s growth and experiences through email updates/letters and pictures. We are looking forward to getting to know you and will always speak highly of you. From our perspective, you have made a brave decision and we will always respect you for your choice. Thank you for taking the time to consider us and we wish you all the best on this journey.

Sincerely,

Tim & Constance
