Adoption in Our Lives

Family Time Is the Best Time!

We were given the greatest gift on earth - the chance to be parents to our creative, rambunctious, loving, and clever two-year-old son, Gabriel. We adopted Gabriel at birth after being contacted by Gabriel's birth mother, Faith, while she was six months pregnant.

Gabriel & His Birth Mom

Being Gabriel's parents has been the best thing to ever happen to us! Watching him grow into his own personality and discover his passions has been phenomenal. Gabriel loves music, splashing in water, jumping around, reading books, playing sports in the backyard, chasing after our cat, and hammering walls (which is probably Jordan's fault). He will be the most amazing and kind big brother, and we cannot wait to see Gabriel love and adore and protect his little sibling.

One of the things we cherish most about our son's adoption is that it is an open adoption. Gabriel's birth parents (Faith and Patrick) have become part of our family and will always be part of our family. We do not take lightly the struggle of placing a child for adoption and we would welcome an open adoption with this child. We hope that the expectant parents feel part of our family because they are the reason we will have this child. Adoption is not an easy path, but we are committed to being flexible and open to what is best for the child, which we believe includes the biological mother and father. We cannot wait to grow our family through adoption and will always be grateful for the expectant mother and father.

Our Leisure Time

We Love Santorini

We love to travel. One of the best things about Johnny's job is that every six months, we have the opportunity to earn a vacation, which has allowed us to travel to places we would have never imagined. Gabriel has already gone to Pensacola, FL; Fairhope, AL; Mexico; Italy; Greece; Montenegro; and Croatia. Watching our child learn and experience new cultures has been one of our favorite parts of parenthood.

We both enjoy staying active, which we realized is a must when you have a toddler to chase around. Johnny lifts weights and runs, and Jordan does Pilates. We love taking family walks around the neighborhood to the pond to feed the ducks and playing in our backyard with Gabriel.

Soaking Up the Beautiful Florida Beaches

We try to cook together as a family as much as possible because Gabriel has showed a big interest in cooking, unless we're cutting onions! Jordan is definitely the lead chef, but Johnny and Gabriel make excellent sous chefs. We love trying new recipes and creating family time in the kitchen. Even though the kitchen is more of Jordan's territory, Johnny can be found every morning making espresso or pour over coffee with different coffees from around the world and sometimes even hosting coffee tastings for our friends. Gabriel even likes to get in on the action and help Johnny with different coffee techniques.

Lastly, we both wind down at night with a good book - Jordan a fantasy novel and Johnny a non-fiction business book.

Our Professional Lives

The Baby Builder Is on the Job Site

Johnny is a Financial Advisor and Certified Financial Planner, running his own office in New Orleans. Johnny's entire career is based on helping his clients achieve their most important financial goals, like retiring or sending their kids to college. Johnny started right out of college with zero clients. After door knocking and much hard work, Johnny built his business to where he now serves over two hundred clients. He also has several leadership positions within his company, as it is his passion helping other financial advisors achieve their goals to better serve their clients.

Jordan has that same drive to serve others. Jordan taught high school history in New Orleans for four years. During her last year of teaching, Jordan decided to create a residential construction company with her mother. After passing the licensing test, Jordan stopped teaching and put everything into her newly created female-owned business. Jordan loves that she builds a unique and close relationship with her clients. It is one of the coolest things to see a vacant lot turn into a beautiful custom home. Jordan's career became even more rewarding since having Gabriel. Gabriel goes on the jobsites with Jordan and her mother and is already known as the "Baby Builder" around the city.

We both chose careers where we are constantly around new people who we are serving every day because serving others is what drives us. The flexibility our jobs offer has also helped us with our most important job, being a parent.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

Our home is located in a suburb twenty minutes outside of New Orleans. We have a four bedroom, three bathroom two-story house that Jordan built for us in 2023. We live with our lively and creative two year old son, Gabriel, and our charming and slightly overweight cat, Bacchus.

We love our neighborhood as it is filled with children and is very diverse. Since it is a gated community, children are constantly in the streets playing, which reminds both of us of our childhood. Our neighbors have truly become family and the kids are together constantly. Also, during these hot Louisiana summers, we constantly walk to Jordan's parents house to swim in their pool - Gabriel loves the water and is always begging to swim in the pool.

In New Orleans, there is never a shortage of festivals, events, and parades for families to experience local music, food, art, and culture. We have a close group of friends, and we all have kids around the same age, so we love getting together with the kids. As locals, it is part of us to let the good times roll! We have loved watching Gabriel play in City Park, go to the Children's Museum, visit the Audobon Zoo and Aquarium, enjoy Music Class, experience French Quarter Festival, thrive at Mardi Gras, and so much more. Seeing our son experience our city's culture has been one of our favorite moments!

Our Extended Families

Christmas With Family

Jordan's parents live in the same neighborhood as us, and Jordan's brother and his wife live next door; we have dinner with Jordan's parents, two siblings and their spouses, and Jordan's paternal grandparents every Sunday evening. This family tradition was already a fun and special event, but it became even better when our son Gabriel joined. Also, Jordan and her mother own a business together, so we see family often. With Jordan's siblings all being in the same city, we see them and their spouses often. We watch Saints football games, go to Pensacola Beach every Labor Day, and play board games.

Carving Pumpkins

Johnny's parents live just fifteen minutes away. We have a close relationship to them and Johnny's siblings too. Fun fact: Johnny has a fraternal twin brother, Kyle, and his older brother, Stephen, and sister, Kristen, are also fraternal twins. Johnny's sister and husband have a daughter (Emmerson), who is Jordan's goddaughter, and a newborn boy (Gryason), who is Johnny's godson. Even though they live two hours away, we constantly get the kids together as these cousins love to play together! Seeing these three cousins grow up together has been the greatest gift.

From Us to You

Thank you for taking the time to read our profile and getting a tiny glimpse of who we are. A life with many children is something both of us have always desired. We cannot imagine the amount of emotions, time, and consideration you have been going through as you make this decision; however, if we can give you any type of peace, please know that we are making a lifelong promise to you. Adoption is not just a path for the child and us (the adoptive parents), but it is a path that also includes you. We will forever be grateful to you for creating this beautiful child and already have you and this child in our daily prayers.

Even though we are both from New Orleans and had many mutual friends, we did not meet until fall of sophomore year at Louisiana State University. We were set up for Johnny's fraternity semi-formal and began dating in 2013. After what felt like a very long time to Jordan, Johnny proposed on April 7, 2017. We were married on June 30, 2018. We joke that we never had anything in common when we were dating and that the saying "opposites attract" must be our theme. However, after struggling with infertility and being foster parents to three amazing children and then the reunification of our foster children, we realized that our complementary strengths are what kept us going. We strongly believe in our faith and know that we would not have made it through all the struggles of life without God.

One of the first things Jordan expressed when we were dating was her desire to be a mother. We even discussed adoption before we knew we were going to struggle with infertility. We want a house full of children and plan on raising those children with our shared values - to be loving, kind, and respectful to others. We will encourage this child to pursue his/her unique passions, and we look forward to watching him/her grow into a happy, healthy, and hard-working adult. We already have this extreme love and protection for this child.

We want an open adoption for this child. We believe having contact with you, if you so choose, would be great for the child's upbringing. We will send pictures, write emails, share the child's milestones, and hope to have in-person visits with you. You will forever be a positive light in our house. We know that this plan will evolve and change as the child grows, but we are committed to adapting our lives to do what is best for the child, which we believe is always having a relationship with you, whatever that may look like.

Because of you, we are able to grow our family, and the amount of gratitude and admiration we have for you is something we will never be able to put into words. All we can do is vow to you, just like we vowed to each other, to stay committed to doing what is best for this child. We are excited to build this lifelong relationship with you. Thank you for allowing us to share a little bit of our hearts with you, and thank you for considering us so that we may experience the gift of becoming parents.
