Our Passions

An Amazing Waterfall in Iceland

Our single biggest passion is travel. Whether its travel throughout the U.S. or internationally, we love it all! As a couple we have visited numerous Caribbean islands, Canada, Costa Rica, Italy, Iceland and Japan so far. Travel is something we feel very passionate about. Not only is it a way to relax from the everyday stresses in life, but more importantly it gives us the opportunity to learn about other cultures. We love getting to try new foods, visit cultural museums and see historic sites. The life experiences gained through travel are so important and we cannot wait to share them with our children. We want them to have an appreciation for other cultures and ways of life. Throughout our relationship we have focused on sharing experiences together, rather than exchanging gifts. We think the memories and lessons gained through travel far outweigh the joy a material item can bring. This is something we want to instill in our children as well. We want them to value living their lives to the fullest and making memories of wonderful shared experiences over having more things.

Our Leisure Time

Sunny Wisconsin Summertime

Fitness and health are important to us, and we like to combine that with our love for the outdoors. Central Wisconsin has numerous opportunities for hiking, kayaking and relaxing outside. Recently, we also learned how to cross-country ski so that we can spend more time outside during the long Wisconsin winters. It has been great to learn a new sport together and share that journey.

We also enjoy cooking together. It brings us so much joy to find a new recipe, and then spend time gathering ingredients and making something delicious. Our love of travel has greatly influenced our cooking, as we like to try recipes from around the world.

Volunteering at our local food pantry is another thing we like to do in our leisure time. Marissa is usually there a few times a month helping with food distribution and organization. Adam loves helping out with the larger community fundraising events and Christmas toy drive for children. We are so fortunate in our lives, and value the opportunity to give back and get to know our community better. This is something we cannot wait to share with our children.

Our Pup, Percy

Stylish Percy

Our puppy, Percy, is so much fun! He loves to chase squirrels around the yard, or go hiking at the nearby park. He also really likes riding in the car and going on road trips to explore new parts of Wisconsin. Percy brings so much joy to everyone who knows him. He's playful, affectionate and great with kids. His companionship has brought us so much joy, and we know he will gladly welcome children into our home. Whether he's playing and running around, or napping near the couch, he loves to have us with him. We have a great dog park near our home that we take him to so he can make new friends. Dogs are very important in our lives. Our previous dog, Lola, passed away at age 13 after bringing us so much happiness. We look forward to many years ahead with Percy, and memories of him growing up alongside our children.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We have been living in central Wisconsin for a few years now and have really enjoyed the year-round activities that are available. Our home is on a lake and offers a picturesque place to relax. During warmer months, we like to take advantage of the numerous hiking trails in our area with our dog Percy. He loves to be outside and explore all that our community has to offer. Winter brings lots of snow and fun activities also. Cross country skiing is a new hobby we have learned to enjoy the beautiful Wisconsin winters outdoors.

Our community is small, but growing. There are numerous events throughout the year that bring people together. Our downtown area is host to outdoor summer concerts with food trucks, cultural events, and Christmas parades. We look forward to these times to join our community, and are excited to share these with our child.

While our city is smaller, we really enjoy the fact that we are located close to many larger cities. Traveling is a big part of our lives, and we love to take small weekend getaways to Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Madison, or Chicago. We cannot wait to watch our child grow up in our community and share our passions for this area.

Our Extended Families

Celebrating Our Niece's Baptism

Family is very important to us. While our families don't live very close by, we stay close with frequent text messages and phone calls. Our families also come to visit frequently, and we make time to visit them at least once a year. Our parents all live in Florida, where we grew up. Going home to visit them is always busy, but fun to see all our parents and friends. Marissa's sister, Jennifer, lives near Boston with her husband and daughter. Our niece, Aida, is the light of our lives. She is so smart, funny, and loving. We enjoy spending time with her and nurturing her love of animals. Her favorite activities to do with us include going to the zoo, the aquarium, or playing with our dog Percy. Marissa's brother, Emilio, is currently living in south Florida with his husband while he completes his orthodontic training. Adam's sister, Erika, and her husband will soon be relocating to Chicago which we are very excited about. It will be so nice to have family close, and also get to spend more time in a city we love.

Marissa & Aida

Most of our time spent with family focuses on relaxing! We all have very busy lives and truly enjoy the time we spend together just catching up. Food is important in our family time. We enjoy trying new restaurants, or celebrating Adam's Polish Christmas traditions. Every year we love celebrating Wigilia on Christmas Eve, and all the yummy food that comes with it.

We know our families will love our child and be eager to add them to our family gatherings and traditions.

From Us to You

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us. We know that there will be many difficult decisions ahead for you. Please know that we will continue to pray for you and your child. We admire your courage and strength in considering adoption.

We met in college 16 years ago and instantly connected. Through all this time, we have overcome many challenges and continue to find our relationship as a source of strength in our lives. We continue to put our marriage first, and make decisions that will uplift us a family. Adding a child to our lives would be a gift of unimaginable magnitude. We have dreamed of starting a family for years, and know that we will be great parents. Adam brings the fun and work ethic, while Marissa adds the compassion and good cooking.

To us, being parents will be the most important job we will have in life. Our love and respect for each other will be a great model for our child to know how to treat others. After struggling with infertility, we have done a lot of self-reflection and recognize that there is a bigger plan for us. We know in our hearts that our child is out there, waiting to be united with us, so that we can show him/her all the love in our hearts. We cannot wait to grow our family through adoption. Please know that we will always provide a safe, loving, nurturing home for your child.

We have so many passions in life and know that we will really enjoy sharing them with our children. It is important to us that our child knows that they are loved and that their opinions are valued. We strongly believe in open communication with each other, and will further that with our child. Our child will know what it means to be a responsible, caring, compassionate person. Their hopes and dreams will be nurtured and supported.

We are so excited to see what the future holds for us. We look forward to sharing our love of travel, cooking, and the outdoors with our child. We also eagerly await learning their passions, and helping nurture them as they grow. We will instill the values of a strong work ethic, personal responsibility, and a caring heart in our child. We want our child to value experiences in life over material possessions. Having the ability to travel and get to experience different cultures will help make our child a more well-rounded individual able to appreciate every advantage in their life. This will also make our child a very compassionate, tolerant and understanding person. We strive to treat everyone we meet with care and respect, and will teach our child to do the same.

We hope that learning more about us will help you to make the best decision for your child. We are also open to meeting with you in order to get to know us more, if that is your desire.

Throughout your child's life, we are open to sharing updates through photos and letters if that is your desire. We will always be open and honest with our child about adoption. We will always speak highly of you, and honor your role in our lives. Your child will know how much you love them and that you made your decision out of that love.

Thank you for considering us as potential parents for your child. We have so much love in our hearts, and cannot wait to share it with our child.
