Austin & Heather
Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know us. We are looking forward to the future that awaits us. Adoption is a beautiful and emotional journey. We are so excited about the opportunity to be parents through adoption. We feel we have so much love, joy, happiness and laughter to share with a child.
What It Means to Become Parents
To us being a parent means always being there for our child no matter what and always showing love and commitment. It means being able to teach, and also learn from, the experience of raising a child.
We are looking forward to passing down knowledge about hunting, fishing, and showing our child how to take care of the farm. We also look forward to moments like reading our kiddo a bedtime story every night as they fall asleep. We look forward to being called Mommy and Daddy, teaching them how to talk and hearing them speak for the first time, learning to walk and being there to catch them if they fall. As the child grows, we look forward to all of the other "firsts," such as teaching them how to drive and finishing high school.
However, the thing we most look forward to is being able to watch our child grow into their own individual self and loving them wholeheartedly for everything they become.
Our Leisure Time
We love the outdoors and spend a lot of time hunting, fishing, farming, and gardening. During hunting season we spend a lot of hours together in a stand. Every time it's a new experience and we build memories even if we don't get any wildlife up to the stand. Fishing is always relaxing and full of excitement at the same time. We enjoy throwing a line out in our family's two-acre pond.
There is always a chore to be done when you have a little farm. Every morning and evening we tend to our farm together. We can't wait to have a little one tagging along and "helping" us!
We own the first escape room in our home town. Austin does most of the building of props and Heather comes up with all the escape puzzles to try and escape. We love escape rooms so much that every time we get the chance to try a new one out we take it!
Our Individual Strengths
Heather is very driven. Every job she has had she has worked her way to being in a top position. Heather never gives up and gives her all for something that she believes in. She is very organized. She keeps track of two businesses and our mini-farm very well. Honesty is a strong description of Heather. She never lies and always tells the truth. Heather has a very caring heart.
Austin's biggest strength is being protective. He is always making sure everyone is OK and looking out for our family. Austin is dependable no mater what—he sticks to his word when he says something. He is also there anytime anyone needs him. He has a very big heart and is very caring. If you ask his nieces who their favorite uncle is they always say Uncle Austin—he is the best with them!
Our House and Neighborhood
We live in a four bedroom, two bath, and two living room home. We live on several acres and have an abundance of dewberries, wild grapes, wildlife and fish in our pond. Our yard is fenced in and overlooks a picture perfect view of the two-acre pond, beautiful land, and an abundance of wildlife that comes right up to our back yard.
Heather's parents and her sister's family live near us on the same acreage. We all like to call it our family compound. Our nieces will get to grow up being close companions to their future cousin. They will get to attend the same schools, activities and family traditions.
Heather's parents have a gorgeous pool conveniently equipped with a splash pad that her mother had installed for her grandchildren to play in. There are several parks, splash pads, a duck pond, a zoo, and a kids museum located within the community. There are a lot of family activities to have fun and memorable times.
Our Extended Families
Our life is mainly focused on family, each other, and our little farm.
We live next to many members of Heather's family, including her parents, her sister and our nieces. It's nice to have the support and love of your family near.
Ever since we got married we always knew we wanted a child. After surprising our family with the news of our adoption plan, their reaction was one of udder excitement and hope for our growing family.
One family tradition that Heather enjoys is making fresh homemade jam and wild mustang grape jelly that she learned from her mother. The recipes have been handed down for generations and we cannot wait to continue this tradition with our child!
We also consider our pets to be part of our family. Shelly the tortoise, Winston the mini pig, three dogs, and two cats all live on our little farm. We also have chickens, a very friendly turkey named Marley and a little rooster with big personality named Pollito. Each one of our animals are great with kids. Our nieces love to come over and play, take care of, and love on all the pets.
From Us to You
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us.
We know that this may be a confusing time for you as you are trying to figure out the best option for you and your precious baby. We hope that you are feeling loved and supported as you consider your options. We admire you so much for considering adoption, as without adoption our dream of becoming parents would not come true. Know that we are praying for you and your sweet baby throughout your pregnancy.
We have been married for almost four years. We have known each other for a very long time as friends. We went our separate ways for a few years, and as we became adults, our paths met again. This time we fell in love with one another and who we had become. We have learned so much from each other throughout our journey. We truly have a blessed and happy relationship with one another. We are constantly lifting each other up and wanting the other to do great things. We have built our relationship on love, commitment, and happiness. We spend a lot of time with each other—probably more than most couples! A lot of people always joke and ask how we do it and don't always fight. Our response is it's like being able to hang out with your best friend every day.
We work together for Heather's family business. We work hard with the hopes of one day allowing Heather's parents to retire while we own and continue running the company. Austin is the supervisor/manager while Heather handles everything in the office as office manager. We also own our own business. After falling in love with the fun and excitement of escape rooms, we decided to open the first escape room in our hometown. We have really enjoyed introducing our community to something new and they seem to be loving it!
Excited is an understatement of how we feel about our adoption journey. We cannot wait for the chance to finally become parents! We believe that we would be amazing parents and that adoption is our life's path. We promise to communicate with you throughout your journey, if that is something you would want. We would love to send pictures of all the milestones through your child's life so you can see along the way how much love and joy we will share. We are open to any suggestions on other ways of how you may like us to keep in touch in the future.
We hope that you have gained a sense of how much love we have to offer a child. If you choose us, we will truly never be able to thank you enough for your courage.
