Nate & Chelsie
Thank you for taking the time to view our profile! We have been looking forward to becoming parents for many years and are so excited to have that opportunity through adoption. We have a great deal of love, laughter, and wisdom to share with a child and we are ready to embark on that journey together. We know you have a very important decision ahead of you and we applaud your strength and courage.
Our Leisure Time
We both love to spend time outdoors doing projects in our yard. Nate is usually working on a project and Chelsie enjoys helping whenever possible. Chelsie also enjoys feeding her many hummingbirds, birds, and deer that come up to the backyard year round. When we aren’t physically working on a project, we enjoy spending time on our back deck. We have several acres of land so sitting on our deck and enjoying the wildlife is a very special way we get to relax and unwind.
We also very much enjoy being with family and friends. We have a close group of friends we see often. On a summer night you can usually find us sitting around a bonfire with friends and listening to music. In the winter months, we have game nights with our friends. We also enjoy going to any kind of sporting event locally or professionally. We both love to watch dirt track racing and spend a lot of time doing that in the summer months. Nate is often working on a race car while we’re at the races. We have a lot of land and deep hills and woods that we also enjoy exploring.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other
Chelsie About Nate:
I love Nate’s work ethic. He is a very hard worker not only in his day to day job but around our home as well. Nate has built many things for our home and I love seeing the pride in his work. Whatever project he’s working on, he always gives it 100% and ensures it’s completed very precisely - he can make any design come to life! Nate is also extremely patient and methodical. If possible, Nate takes his time when making important decisions which is something I really admire about him.
Nate About Chelsie:
One of the many things I love about Chelsie is her caring nature. She is a very compassionate person who is always willing to help in any way she can. This attribute shows up in many aspects in her life, but one in particular is her volunteer work with CASA and kids who have been removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect. This volunteer work takes many hours of commitment and a very patient heart and this is what Chelsie has. Another thing I love about Chelsie is her love for the outdoors. She loves to be outside doing many activities like planting flowers and placing animal feeders around our property.
We want to be open with our child about their adoption story. We want them to understand your decision to choose adoption and place them with us. We also think it’s very important for our child to understand what a beautiful gift they are to us and how much love and admiration we have for you, their birth parents. We want our child to know and feel the love from not only us but their birth family as well. Knowing how much you love them is extremely important to us. We also recognize that there may be different emotions and feelings our child will have towards adoption or their adoption journey throughout their life. We want them to know that it’s OK to have those feelings and we want to be there as a support to process those emotions and questions. We will answer our child’s questions openly with respect, honesty, and empathy. We will respect you as their birth parents and keep your story private from extended family members and friends.
Our House and Neighborhood
We live out in the country in Iowa. We lived in the city for about 10 years prior to deciding to move back to our hometown. We worked hard to clear and prepare some land and built our dream home a few years ago. Our home sits on about 11 acres of land. It currently has two bedrooms with two bathrooms and we are working on finishing our basement which will give us two additional bedrooms and more space for our growing family. We have a deck off the back of our house with some great views of the many trees on our property. We always have wildlife coming up to our backyard which we both really enjoy. We plan to put in a pool within the next five years once our child gets a little older and is able to enjoy it more. We also have a shop that Nate spends a lot of his time in working on projects, building things, or restoring his tractors.
While we are out in the country and we have a great deal of privacy, we do have some neighbors that are close by and that we see often. There is a neighborhood just a short drive down the gravel road with lots of young families. There is a larger town nearby with some great parks. One of the parks we go to often has a campground and lots of hiking trails. Just down the road from us is a ski resort that offers winter skiing and tubing as well as summer tubing, kayaking, and canoeing down the river. We recently purchased an UTV that we ride often down the gravel roads. It’s a great way to explore the country and take in the wildlife.
Our Extended Families
We both have one older brother each. Chelsie’s older brother lives about two hours away and has a wife and two children that we get to see often. Nate’s brother lives a quieter life in North Carolina and comes back to visit about once a year. Both of our parents live about five minutes down the road, which is really nice and allows us to see them often. Both parents are excited about us expanding our family and very much look forward to babysitting whenever needed.
Chelsie has a very large family that lives close by and allows for us to continue carrying on many family traditions started by her grandparents. One of those traditions is going to Knoxville, Iowa every year for a week to watch sprint car racing. Chelsie’s grandparents began going in the late 70’s and her aunts, uncles, and cousins now carry on the tradition. Nate’s Mom is an exceptional cook. Holidays at her house are often spent in the kitchen waiting for the delicious food to come out of the oven so we can all enjoy it together. Our extended families are extremely excited for us to expand our family through adoption. Our child will be loved by many!
From Us to You
Thank you for viewing our profile and considering us to parent your child. We recognize you may have a lot of fear and uncertainty with making your decision. We have so much love to give to a child and we hope our profile has demonstrated our ability to provide a very safe and stable life for him/her. No matter what decision you make, our hope for you is that you will feel a sense of peace.
We met in high school 20 years ago. It was a fluke chance meeting that we are both very thankful for today. We truly feel like everything happens for a reason and the way we met being one of them. We dated while we both attended college and married seven years later in 2007. We have truly grown up together and we attribute our strong marriage to that.
When we decided to begin trying to have our own baby, we thought we would immediately get pregnant. Unfortunately, five years later, after multiple miscarriages and infertility treatments, we were not able to grow our family naturally. Battling through the journey of infertility was very difficult. However, we are a much stronger couple because of what we have endured together. Going through infertility has given us a different perspective on the difficulties everyone faces in their own lives and how to overcome those challenges. The infertility journey has given us so many life lessons that we hope to share with our future child as they grow up. We want our child to know that life is not always perfect, but you can get through anything with hard work and the support of family and friends. We also want them to know that they will make mistakes and we will always be there to help them navigate through life and carve out their journey.
Nate is an extremely patient and loyal person. He is very handy and loves building things. He has a large shop that he’s able to work on projects in. Nate is excited about being a dad and most importantly showing his child important lessons his own Dad instilled in him growing up. Chelsie is also very excited to be a mother. Coming from a large extended family, Chelsie sees the importance of family and loves carrying on traditions she once enjoyed as a child. She has a lot of love and wisdom to give to a child. We both can’t wait to meet our future child and know they are already very loved by many.
We take a lot of pride in our home and the life we have built together. We built our dream home three years ago and we did so while envisioning raising our child on the many acres of land that we have. We love being outdoors and enjoying the simple things in life like grilling, having bonfires, riding our UTV around our land, and being with friends and family. We have a 16-year-old cat named Bella who is quite spoiled and has brought us both a great deal of joy through the years. We live a pretty simple life in Iowa and we are excited to share that with our future child.
We vow to always be honest and open with our child about his/her birth family and how much love and respect we have for you making this decision. We are committed to sending pictures and letters throughout the child’s life. We are also open to scheduling visits and phone calls through the years according to your comfort level and desires. We hope that by knowing more about us, we can give you a sense of calmness with your decision of choosing us to parent your baby and fulfilling our dream of becoming parents.
