Our Favorite Vacation Spot

Tim at Inveraray Castle, Scotland

We spent five years living in Edinburgh, Scotland while Sabrina attended Veterinary School. They were easily some of the most memorable years of our lives, and though the program was difficult and demanding we were able to extensively explore Scotland in the process. It has absolutely become our 'soul country,' and before the pandemic required us to stay safe at home we visited often to see best friends who have become family over the years.

Exploring Skara Brae in Orkney, Scotland

The pull of the Scottish Highlands hasn't gone away since returning to America; there is something so enchanting about the ancient mountains and centuries-old castle ruins. We have hiked and camped and explored from the far North Orkney Islands to the magical Isle of Skye on the West Coast. We learned to appreciate a dram of whisky and fell in love with Haggis and Black Pudding along the way. We are so looking forward to sharing the place we love the most and having wild and ancient adventures with a child.

Our Pets

With Bou & Lemon

It's probably not surprising that people who work in the Veterinary world want to tell you about our animals. Sabrina is a General Practitioner Veterinarian, and Tim runs the business aspect of the small animal hospital we own. We get to spend every day with dogs and cats who enrich our lives; we meet new patients as tiny puppies or kittens, and have the absolute honor of caring for them throughout their lives until it's time to say goodbye.

We have many animals of our own: chickens, horses, bees… but the shining stars of our life are two sweet hounds named Lemon and Bou. They are both rescue dogs who are playful and mild-mannered. They love going on hikes, rolling in mud puddles, and snuggling up with us in front of the fireplace at the end of the day. These dogs have taught us how to be better humans and we are looking forward to sharing their friendship with a child.

Our Leisure Time

Tim Building a New Deck

Tim is an excellent woodworker and can build almost anything! Before taking over the veterinary business he worked for over fifteen years in the building industry, gaining hugely valuable skills that have been used to restore our old home! He has a tool room to contain the constant mess of sawdust, and cannot wait to be the dad who builds tree houses and a playground for your child. Tim also loves hiking and we spend a lot of time outside with the dogs. We are so excited to provide the open space and woodlands for your child to explore and imagine!

Beekeeping: Inspecting the Hive

Sabrina's hobbies are unsurprisingly animal focused! She rides horses several times a week, and is working towards learning how to jump. She is excited to share her love of horses with your child and provide the support for them to take horseback riding lessons or have their own pony someday. We also both enjoy beekeeping and have two hives at home. Many people think that bees are scary, but these colonies have been specifically bred for their docility; each hive produces around 100 pounds of honey per year that we extract and give to family and friends. The bees are great pollinators and help the garden and fruit trees to grow. We can't wait to teach your child about nature and animals- from bugs to giant beasts!

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We live in a small countryside village in rural New Hampshire. We love where we live: our historic village is situated on the edge of a State Park, providing miles of hiking trails and mountain views. There are village ice cream shops, garden centers for spring flowers, and we can hear Church Bells ringing from our front porch.

Our home is a 115-year-old Colonial that we took two years to restore (including installing modern electricity!). We are proud of the work poured into this house, loving it back to life. Our home sits on five-acres of woodlands and has three bedrooms, a large living area, and a handful of fireplaces. We are routinely curled up in front of a fire with our sweet hounds during snowy New England winters. The dogs have claimed the window seat for themselves, where they sit and watch the chickens outside, but our favorite place to be is the balcony upstairs where we can see the mountaintop.

We live a half-hour from the nearest city which has restaurants, shops, a theatre, and fun community events. We always attend the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony on the evening of Thanksgiving, where Santa rides into town on a fire truck! We have gorgeous mountains for skiing, or it's a quick drive to the coast for summer beach days. Most of our family friends live just around the corner with children of their own, offering all sorts of future friends to adventure with.

Our Extended Families

Picking Apples With Tim's Parents

Tim was raised in a very supportive environment. He and his older brother hail from people who provided a rock-solid foundation for their two boys.

We are both fortunate to be so close to Tim's parents, Tom and Carolyn. They are joyful, hilarious people who are thrilled to welcome another child into the family. We have seen them fiercely love and adore their brood of grandchildren, including our niece and two adopted cousins!

Sabrina & Our Nephew

Sabrina comes from a less traditional family but maintains extraordinarily close relationships with her cousin, Nicole, her best friend, Dina, and several 'chosen' family members who live abroad in England and New Zealand! We are lucky to have both Dina's family, and Nicole's family live nearby; Our nephew and niece are waiting impatiently to have a little cousin to play with!

Our family has supported us as we moved across the world to chase our dreams. They are so happy to have us home in New England and can't wait to be part of the family we'll build. These people, biological family and chosen soul mates, are waiting with open hearts to love your child with everything they have.

From Us to You

Thank you for wanting to get to know us; We can't imagine how overwhelming this decision must feel for you. We are so thankful that you might consider us as your allies in pursuit of the dreams you have for your child. We are committed to not only loving and providing for your child, but also feel absolute conviction that you are and will always be an irrevocably important part of your child's life- and, we hope, part of our lives as well. Your child will know who you are and will know how much love and selflessness it took to create their special family. We are committed to open and ongoing communication and promise to provide pictures and letters, and are fully supportive of future visits if this is important to you!

We have been married for almost 13 years (and together for 17). We have spent our lives together so far travelling and living abroad, earning an education, building a safe and beautiful home, and now own a veterinary hospital. We have become an unshakable team and are so excited to become parents. Our personalities are well-matched (Tim is calm and steadfast, Sabrina is passionate and driven) and we know that our strengths and the way we balance each other will support a child as they grow and start to decide who they are in this world.

This pandemic has changed our lives in a lot of ways, and travel restrictions have reinforced for us how much we love just being at home and growing this little country homestead. We can't wait to show your child how to plant little vegetables or pick wildflowers in our woods. Someday the airports will be busy again and we are looking forward to ensuring your child will see the world, making fun trips to visit family in Britain and New Zealand, but we've realized now more than ever how special it is that they will grow up in the safety and slow pace of the New England countryside. They will have animals to love and care for, they can collect fresh chicken eggs, they can play in the mud and woods with sweet dogs, ride horses, and help to take care of their honeybees.

Our home is full of life, and Tim ensures that we are always laughing- even through tears and hard times. Our extended family is incredibly close, and they are so supportive of welcoming your child. The grandparents can't wait to have another little person to spoil, and plan to be a fun-loving fixture as your child grows up.

As people who have moved across the world to pursue a degree, and spent time training in both Africa and Asia, we have a unique perspective on how valuable educational opportunities are! Our local schools are highly rated, and we are looking forward to finding out what subjects and passions your child will be interested in so that we can nurture them as they develop. We hope to someday support volunteer projects overseas and study abroad programs in university. We truly believe that education can save someone's life, and promise you that your child will be supported and challenged while they grow.

We have achieved almost every dream we've hoped for together and have reached a point in our lives where we feel excited and ready to start a family. We can't wait to raise children and give them everything they need and deserve. We cannot fathom the weight of the decision you are facing, but we want you to know that we would be honored to be the people who support your choice and to be who you trust with your child. We hope you'll allow us to be a part of your life in this way. We promise you that your child will be so deeply loved by all of us.

With love,

Tim & Sabrina
