Jason & Cynthia
The thought of being able to build our family through adoption seems so surreal. We want to thank you for taking the time to view and read our profile. To even consider us to be parents to your child is exciting. We have so much love and support to share with our growing family. We cannot wait to become loving parents.
What It Means to Become Parents
Becoming a parent is a lifelong dream of ours. We have always known that we wanted to share this amazing life with a child. Being able to love, cherish and support a child through their lives is a blessing and we cannot wait for the experience. The thing we will enjoy most about being parents is spending time figuring out just who they are going to be: their personality, their likes and dislikes, their hobbies, their career choice. Being able to involve our child in our favorite activities, our adventures, and every other aspect of our lives will be the most exciting thing we will have ever done in our lives. Ever since we made the decision to adopt, we imagine having a child with us in different situations: going on a trip to the mountains and seeing the awe in the child's eyes at the beautiful sights they will see, taking them to the racetrack and watching them get excited about their daddy racing his race car, or a holiday with the family and playing with their cousins. It melts our hearts imagining a child in our lives.
Our Leisure Time
In our leisure time, we enjoy doing things together. Our hobbies include racing, camping, cooking together, and spending time with family and friends. Jason races a variety of race cars: sprint cars, trucks, and soon dirt late models. Racing is a family tradition that Jason has shared with his dad and uncles. Jason has spent his life coaching children and families about racing: focusing on safety, mechanics, and the art of racing. He talks about including our child in the racing world if they are interested.
Camping is a big part of our leisure activities. We camp in the mountains, at the beach, and in state parks. We enjoy camping with friends and family. Biking, walking trails, campfires, and fishing are some of the exciting activities we do while camping. I haven't met a kid yet that didn't enjoy camping. We cannot wait to go on our first camping trip as a complete family.
As a family, we love cooking together. We enjoy grilling and smoking meats, using fresh vegetables, and being creative. Coking together is fun, challenging, and most importantly delicious. We know that cooking will be a family activity, one that will never get old. We can envision us making a messy kitchen while baking cookies together, and loving every minute of it.
What Made Us Who We Are Today
Today, we are a successful, happy, and financially stable couple. We have worked hard to get to where we are today. We have pushed each other to do better. We are proud to be who we are, and even more proud to know that we got here through dedication, hard work, and support from each other.
Jason grew up as an only child. He was not spoiled; instead, he was instilled with the concept of "you work for what you have." At a young age, Jason worked alongside his father at the family automotive shop. He learned about vehicles, work ethic, and the importance of taking care of what you have. As a hobby, Jason would go to the racetrack with his dad and uncle. He learned about sportsmanship, the importance of having fun, and enjoying time with your family.
Cynthia was one of four children. Growing up, for her, was a little different. There wasn't enough money for anything extra, let alone for college. She knew that she wanted more out of life. Once she was old enough to work, she started at a local pizza place. While working there, the management saw potential in her and pushed her to do more with her life. She always dreamed about being a nurse. Jason supported and encouraged her during nursing school. And now, she is living out her dream of being a nurturing, caring, and hard-working nurse.
Our House and Neighborhood
Our home is a three-bedroom, two-bath, brick home situated on an acre of land. Over half of the property is fenced in. Our favorite part of the house is our large back deck where we like entertaining, enjoying backyard BBQs, or sitting and relaxing with family and friends. Jason has a shop that he uses for work on his race cars.
Our small community is like a large family. We get together for weekend gatherings, kids' sports events, and holidays. We support each other by helping out with the kids, helping with yard sales, practicing the kid's spelling words, and baseball practice. We have become friends with most of the families in the neighborhood. The laughter and noise from all the children in the neighborhood remind us how much we want a family.
We have local parks, splash pads, and sports complexes within a few miles of the house. The splash pad is a great place to escape the summer heat. Our town hosts annual events such as chili cookoffs, Cajun cookoffs, and art walks. We have many family-run restaurants and small-town stores that we prefer to shop at. We enjoy going to the local dog park and walking trails with our dog, Preston.
Our Extended Families
Jason is an only child to two amazing parents. His parents live in a small town in central Florida. They are very supportive, especially about the adoption. They welcomed Cynthia into their family with open arms. Jason's mother wants more than just her grand-dog to spoil. When we get together, we enjoy sitting on the porch catching up and eating a great meal together.
Cynthia has a large family. She has two sisters and a brother. Most of her family lives in central Florida, with the exception of her little sister who just moved in a few houses down from us. Cynthia's siblings, and their spouses, get together several times a year; they enjoy camping together, playing card games or going on fishing trips. Even though Cynthia's family is a state away, they all remain close. Cynthia's family is 100% on board with the adoption; they have been there from the beginning of the process and will be such loving Aunts and Uncles when we become adoptive parents.
We are Aunt Cinny and Uncle Jason to several nieces and a nephew. We love getting together and spoiling them with love and laughter. Whether it's playing outside in the yard, cuddling on the couch watching a movie, or sitting by a campfire roasting marshmallows, we enjoy every minute we get with them.
From Us to You
We have thought long and hard about our journey to become parents. We have imagined every aspect of the adoption process. At the end of the day, you are the most important part of this experience. We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this hard and important decision. It takes someone with a strong, caring, giving, and selfless heart to make this decision. We are 100% ready to take on the responsibility of raising your child.
When we sat down to write this letter to you, we thought, "We will make amazing parents! We just have to tell her about us and she will see that we are a great option!" However, that is easier said than done. It is difficult to put into words how we feel about becoming parents. You can't see the tears or hear the crackle in our voice or feel that burning in our noses when we talk about our future as parents. Everything we do now, we imagine doing it with a child. From the toughest task to the sweetest moments, we want to share every bit of it with a child.
We are a loving family with a strong foundation. We met in 2011, married in 2018, and are waiting to hit the next milestone in our lives: becoming parents! Cynthia works as a nurse at a local hospital. She is a nurturer, is passionate about life, and ambitious. Jason works with his hands as a mechanic supervisor. He leads a crew to defy impossible deadlines. Jason is smart, hardworking, supportive, and responsible. Our dog, Preston, is a year-old yellow lab. He loves the water, treats, playing with children and other dogs, and seeing his grandmas.
We have worked hard to become a financially stable family. We were not in any position to take on a family prior to marriage, but now that we are fully capable, we are physically unable to. This gift, this child, would be an absolute blessing to our family. He/she would be raised as our own. At no point in their life would they miss out on an opportunity or be in need of anything.
Your child will know from the beginning that we are his/her adoptive parents. It is important that the child knows who their biological parents are and where he/she came from. You would be an important part of our future and family. We do not want the child to grow up without knowing or understanding their story and their history.
If you decide that we are the right family to take your child in, to provide for, and love your child, then please know that you are making our dreams of having a family come true. We are open to including you in the child's future, sharing photos and emails of milestones, and encouraging the child to meet you when the time is right. We cannot wait to start a family and extend ours to you.
