Our Lifestyle

Our Favorite Vacations Are at Disney World!

We would describe our lifestyle as easy-going, but still fun and adventurous. Jason works from home, with some travel, which we take full advantage of and travel with him when we can (the best is that we get to go to Disney World each year). Ashley works part-time as a professional organizer, but spends most of her time taking care of our home and family. We spend a lot of time together and enjoy exploring everything our community has to offer – the zoo, sporting events, parks, festivals, hiking trails, etc. At home, we enjoy playing with our dog Josie, watching the kids ride bikes, hanging out with neighbors and piling up on the couch to watch a movie. Ashley enjoys cooking and baking, so we always have dinner together, where we talk about our day and play silly word games. We live close to most of our extended family, so they are a big part of our lives and it's awesome that our children are surrounded with so many people who love and support them. We normally travel 5-6 times a year to go on vacation or visit family who live far away. Our favorite places to travel are to Disney World, San Diego and New York City. We also have plans to travel internationally, with Italy, Japan and Ireland high on our list of places we'd like to explore. Whether we're at home or on an adventure, it's just fun to be together!

Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other

An Evening Stroll by the River

In Ashley's words: Jason is calm, incredibly smart, strong and caring. He has always been so loving and sweet to me and I can't tell you how many times a day he stops to hug me or chat with me. He is a wonderful example to our children of how a partner should be. Every day he shows our children love by actively playing with them and taking them on hikes or to get ice cream. They adore him! One of the things I love most about Jason is his determination to reach goals. He worked extremely hard to earn his PhD and have a meaningful career. We are very proud of him!

In Jason's words: Meeting Ashley was the best thing to happen to me. She is outgoing, open-minded, caring and encouraging. When we met in college, I quickly learned how smart and motivated Ashley is. She was the first of her family to move away and graduate college. As my wife, and mom to our sons, she shows us unwavering love and support. One of my favorite things she does is decorate and set out surprises for the kids on every holiday or birthday, so when they wake up, they know it's a special day. She makes life fun and we are lucky to have her.

Cultural Diversity

We know that it is very important that every child is immersed in the culture of their race. We are dedicated to that, if a child that becomes part of our family through adoption is a different race than our own. Our community and school are culturally diverse and living so close to a metro area, we have access to culturally focused festivals and organizations. We celebrate the differences of cultures and are surrounded with people in our community and family who feel the same. We also love to travel, which helps to expose our children to different cultures. It is a responsibility of us, as parents, to ensure our children are raised to be open-minded and accepting of all types of people and cultures.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We live on a wonderful cul-de-sac street that is full of many friendly families and lots of kids. We are always outside with the neighbors, as the kids ride their bikes and scooters, play tag, and roast marshmallows at night. We have a cozy house with plenty of living space, a large finished basement, and a new kitchen that we updated ourselves. Our house sits on acre of land and we are walking distance to a great park that we visit often.

Our children attend a small, private school that is located just 5 minutes from our house. It feels very much like a family environment. We love that there is diversity within the school with children from many different backgrounds, including several families that have grown through adoption. We are very involved at school by volunteering on the PTO, being classroom parents, and coordinating fundraisers.

Living close to Cincinnati gives us access to lots of fun things to do! We love to visit parks, the aquarium, and the zoo. We also like to watch the Reds and Bengals play and attend many local festivals. Our favorite is attending a Reds game on Fridays when they do Fireworks after the game. We also spend a lot of time cheering on our kids at their basketball, baseball or soccer games. We even coached their soccer and basketball teams last year.

Our Extended Families

Hiking With Jason's Family

We are very close with both of our extended families and they are excited for our plans to adopt! Ashley comes from a large family (10 siblings!) and Jason has a large extended family, as well. Papa Mike and Grandma Peggy (Jason's parents) live close by and are both retired. We see them weekly and they have a close relationship with our children. We spend many summer days swimming in their pool, having family dinner togethers and taking the boat out on a local lake. Jason's two brothers moved to Utah a few years ago, so we enjoy taking family vacations to visit and explore hiking in the national parks while we are out there.

Football Game With Ashley's Family

Ashley's family live a few hours from us in the country and we enjoy visiting several times a year. With such a big family, there are many cousins for our children to play with and family gatherings are a blast! Our children love feeding the horses and ducks at Ashley's dad's house and picking vegetables out of his garden. We also love when Ashley's family visits us and enjoy taking them to local sports games and the zoo.

From Us to You

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We hope that you can see within these pages that we have so much love to give a child. We have always felt that adoption is beautiful and are excited to be on this journey. We look forward to the day we can welcome a child into our home and lives.

We have been married for over 11 years and are blessed to have two wonderful sons. Henry and Nash are fun, energetic and very loving. Henry loves soccer, math and riding bikes. He's a talker and loves to be around people. Nash enjoys swimming, drawing pictures and animals. His eyes light up when he sees a dog and says that he wants to be a dog trainer when he grows up. They are both excited to have a little brother or sister and love talking about all the things they can teach them.

You may be wondering why we have chosen adoption as a way to grow our family. We have always envisioned a family with multiple children, however there were complications during the pregnancies that led to us not being able to have any more children biologically. We don't feel that our family is complete yet and have more love in our hearts to give. Adoption is something we had discussed before we even knew we'd have any issues, so we feel that it's something that is meant to be. We have built a wonderful life and know that it could only be made better by adopting a child. We have openly discussed adoption with our sons, who are very familiar with it since they both have friends who are adoptees. They are excited about having a baby brother or sister and love talking about all the things they can share and teach them.

You are probably feeling very overwhelmed with this difficult, yet brave decision to place your child with a loving family. We admire your courage and hope that you feel supported and loved. We are sincerely thankful that you are considering us.

If you choose to place your child with us, we will raise them to know that you made an honorable and selfless decision. We will raise them with love and kindness. Our intention for our children, biological and adopted, is that they are given every opportunity to experience the world, learn about different cultures, and receive a great education. We will take great care to prepare them for adulthood by teaching them important life skills such as, how to cook, manage money, and care for themselves and others. We will instill values in them to always show kindness and generosity to others, cherish their loved ones, and to dream big. We want them to know that we are always there to support and encourage them in their goals.

Above all, we would want your child to know they are loved not only by us, but by you as well. We would welcome a relationship in whatever way you feel comfortable with, including letters and pictures, emails and in person visits. We would like to share with you their growth and experiences throughout life. Our goal is to provide the best life we can to your child and to always treat you with love and respect.

Our home and hearts are ready to welcome a child and we are very appreciative of you considering us as a potential family for your beloved baby. Thank you!
