Our Life Priorities

We Can't Wait to Become Parents!

The priorities in our life have been centered in three main areas: our faith, our family, and our professions. Both of us are Christian and we are active in our church. Our faith has helped us get through many difficult times in our life including illness and death. In fact, our faith is what helped us to go through the years of being unable to have children of our own and gave us the strength to try and adopt now. We would raise a child in our faith as a family.

Family is the next main area in our lives. We love, help, and support each other in all that we do. This would include our child too. We have a large family that we keep in close contact with and talk to every week. We also have many close friends that are just like family and provide wonderful support for us.

Next are our professions. We both have good jobs that we love. Our jobs are stable and we have both excelled in our positions. This has allowed us to dedicate more time to raising a child now. Finally, in our spare time we have a lot of hobbies. Mostly we like being outside hiking or biking. We also have pets that we love taking care of and we try to have a movie night or date night every week.

Our Leisure Time

In our leisure time we have several hobbies. Together we love to hike or go biking and just be outside. We live in a very pretty area with several parks and hiking spots nearby that we go to at least once per week. We live in a valley but are surrounded by mountains. As we write this the leaves are changing colors and the fall is beautiful.

We also like to cook together and try different foods. Most of the time the food comes out good but sometimes we end up ordering food in! We have always had pets even as children and now we have cats at home that we love. For several years I trained and professionally showed dogs too.

Individually, Frank likes to read every night before going to bed - he reads different things from fantasy books like the Lord of the Rings to biographies and faith based books. Kylee likes more arts and crafts. Last year she started doing soy candle making and is getting pretty good! She may start selling them.

Lastly, we like to travel. Our favorite trip was our honeymoon to Italy. We would love to go back but there are so many other places we want to go both in and outside the United States and now we would have to go to places that are family friendly.

What It Means to Become Parents

At a fundamental level being a parent simply means raising a child from infancy through adulthood. However, we believe being a parent is so much more than just providing for the basic needs such as food, water, and shelter. We will protect the child when they are most vulnerable and be a shoulder for them to lean on when they need it. We will prepare the child with skills, education and values to assist them in navigating through the world on their own. We will provide opportunities for them to go to good schools and travel. We will love them and teach them to love themselves and others. Finally we will act as role models and be positive examples in their life.

What we expect to like most about being a parent is seeing this beautiful child grow into an amazing adult, being part of their journey and supporting them along the way. Every day we will try to bring joy into their life just as they will bring joy into our life.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We live in a very family friendly neighborhood in Tennessee. Our house is 100 years old but has been refurnished and upgraded. It has a lot of style and character including a big stained glass window in the front. There is a lot of room too. We have three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a family room and dining room. The child's room is big with a lot of windows that look out towards a park that is right behind our house.

Our entire community is family oriented. There are a lot of neighborhood activities like a community Halloween party and we belong to the neighborhood association. The neighbors next door to us have grand children who often visit and friends across the street have kids in grammar school. The schools and daycare are right around the corner.

We are active in our church and it is less than five miles away from our house. They host many family events that we actively participate in. Frank works a few miles away and four of his co-workers have young children or are currently pregnant and will offer us support when we need it too. We also belong to the YMCA which has lots of programs for children. This is the perfect setting for a child to grow and thrive!

Our Extended Families

Family Lunch

We have family throughout the country. Most are located in Ohio, but Kylee's parents just retired in Florida near Clearwater. Our parents like to golf and do arts and crafts. We have nieces and nephews that are in college and some older cousins who are graduated from school and working as engineers, contractors, lawyers, and university professors. The different ages and professions always gives us a lot to talk about!

Visiting Family in Ohio

When together we like to eat and catch up over meals. We usually make a huge lasagna for Christmas dinner. The cousins like to watch sports and Kylee will make candles with other family members. We then like to go for walks or hiking to work off some of what we ate! We will often then end the night playing card games like UNO.

We normally talk to family members a few times per week and everyone is very excited about adding a child to our family! This child will receive much affection and support and will always be loved.

From Us to You

We never thought we would be writing a letter like this and you maybe never have thought you would be receiving one. We are Frank and Kylee. We have been very happily married for the last 12 years with only one exception - we were unable to have children of our own. It took a long time for us to accept this and even longer to consider what path we wanted to take next. We know that you have to also make a difficult decision and we are very thankful that you will take the time to read our letter, get to know us better, and consider us as the parents for your child. We truly believe it takes strength, courage and love to consider an adoption plan. This knowledge fills us with a great respect for you. We dream of becoming a family and will provide your child all of our love, care, and support. If you choose us, we promise to be open to contact with you, send letters and pictures, and exchange emails to assure you that this child is getting the best upbringing possible.

Let us tell you a little bit about ourselves - We met about 15 years ago through a mutual friend at a scrapbook-making party. (This is not the most manly hobby, but at that time Frank was showing dogs and his dog just became a champion and he wanted to put together a book with all of the accomplishments and ribbons). We felt a special connection right from the beginning and it didn't take long before we were in a serious relationship. We were engaged for three years and have been married since 2008. We have been really happy ever since.

We are a loving and fun couple with a strong relationship. We spend a lot of time together talking and laughing and sharing our thoughts. We are very thankful for our beautiful home, our good health and for our great family and friends. We want to share this with a child and give them all the love, opportunities and joy we have.

Frank About Kylee: Kylee is an artistic, loving and fun person. She likes being outside, cooking, candle making, and taking care of our pets. She is social, and although this has been impacted with the virus we are still meeting with friends outside and virtually. Kylee has a lot of friends of different nationalities and ethnicities. She is my best friend and I know she will be a great mother. She is the most caring person I know. We also love spending time with Kylee's family who is very supportive of our plans to adopt.

Kylee About Frank: Frank is a perfect fit for me. Career focused, organized, and very caring with a balanced personality. He has a doctoral degree and teaches in a great university. In his free time he likes to be outside. He loves our pets, movies, cooking, and reading. He volunteers at church every week and faith plays an important part in his life. He can't wait to be a father and I know he will be the best one you can imagine.

We live in a scenic and safe city in Tennessee. We have the amenities of living in a city with good schools and restaurants as well as the beautiful nature of mountains and rivers nearby. There is actually a park located directly behind our house that is a fun place for families and friends to get together. The mountains, water, sports, and hiking bring people to Tennessee from all over the country.

We live in an 100-year-old home that has been recently renovated and has beautiful woodwork and character. We have more than enough room for children. We live a healthy life style and often go to the neighborhood markets to buy fresh produce. We are close with our friends and family who are so excited to welcome a new child into our home. Many of our friends have young children of their own and would offer us an instant support network.

Thank you so much for taking time to get to know us!
