Jason & Amanda
Thank you for being so brave and selfless in considering adoption for your child. We feel blessed and thankful that you are considering our family. Above all else, we want you to know our home is a place overflowing with unconditional love, laughter, and happiness and know we could provide an amazing life for your child. We are humbled by your decision and look forward to the journey that lies ahead.
Why We Chose Adoption
We love being parents, but our journey to parenthood hasn't been easy. Our oldest, Brayden, was born wide-eyed and ready to take on the world. We could tell there was something very special about this kid, but little did we know at the time just how special he was until we were diagnosed with secondary infertility just a year later.
We were tenacious in our pursuit to expand our family naturally, but it seemed God had another plan. After suffering ten miscarriages and two failed IVF cycles trying to have our second child, we realized that adoption was our best option to complete our family.
We started our adoption journey in 2015. However, shortly after, we found out Amanda was pregnant. Milana Grace was a true miracle! She is a beautiful, sweet little girl with undoubtedly the kindest heart we have ever seen a child possess. She adores her sports-loving older brother but is looking forward to having a younger sibling to play with, help take care of, and love to pieces.
We know our family is not yet complete and are excited to be on this adoption journey. We can't wait to welcome another child into our loving family!
Our Leisure Time
We love to have fun and create memories together as a family in our spare time. Sometimes we love laying low at home after a busy week making breakfast, building forts, playing hide-and-go-seek, and having very competitive dance parties in the kitchen! We definitely take advantage of the warmer months by going on hikes, taking the ferry to Martha's Vineyard, or spending the day at our favorite beach in Newport, RI building sandcastles, boogie boarding, and of course eating lobster rolls from our favorite lunch spot.
Although our favorite family tradition is taking the train to New York City during the holidays to see the famous Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center, go ice skating in Bryant Park, and drink hot chocolate in the ice castles. We usually end the weekend by taking the kids to the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall and watch the Rockettes steal the show. It's truly a magical experience, and we love seeing the kid's faces light up with excitement every time we're there. It is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other
Amanda About Jason: The qualities I love and admire in Jason are endless. I love his strength, gigantic heart, his passion for helping others, and the way he loves our children. Jason is quick-witted and has a great sense of humor. I once came home and he and our kids were dressed up like superhero's running around the house in homemade capes with lightsabers in their hands ... he even had our dog Duke in on the fun (cape and all!). This is a typical day in our home! He loves coaching and playing sports with the kids and doesn't hesitate when my daughter invites him to her hair salon for a makeover ... the end result is always priceless! I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have such a positive role model in our kids' lives.
Jason About Amanda: The qualities I love, admire, and respect in Amanda are many. For starters, her never-ending focus on being the best mom and wife possible continues to astound me. Amanda is the foundation of our family and is always there with warm hugs and kisses or words of encouragement at the end of a long day. As a full-time working mother, it amazes me how she manages to juggle everything and keep everyone's schedules straight. She instills such great morals and values in our children and loves making each day memorable. I'm very lucky to build this beautiful life with her by my side.
Our House and Neighborhood
We live in a family-friendly suburb right outside a major metropolitan city. We built our dream home five years ago and loved being so involved in its design. We wanted a home that felt warm and welcoming and a place that our friends and family would love to visit often.
Our home has five bedrooms, five baths, and a large backyard for the kids and their friends to play. We have a big playset with three slides, three swings, a bridge, and a multi-level fort that the neighborhood kids love coming over to play on. We have a basketball court in the driveway and plenty of ride-along toys, electric cars, and go-carts to keep everyone (even the adults) entertained.
Our favorite room in the house has to be our new movie room in our basement. We snuggle up on the couch with a bunch of cozy blankets, popcorn, and settle in for a fun movie night.
We love getting together with friends at local parks and beaches and take full advantage of the local summer concerts in the town center. We frequent some of our favorite orchards and farms to pick apples, fresh vegetables, and pumpkins in the fall. We take rides into the city to explore everything it offers, like children's museums, special events, restaurants, and shows.
We feel blessed to be surrounded by a supportive community in one of the top school districts in the state and would love nothing more than to share these experiences with another child.
Our Extended Families
The single most important thing we value in our lives is family. We would love to share a couple of specials traditions with you that are close to our hearts and make us unique.
Jason's family has been hosting us for Christmas Eve since we were married. The family attends a beautiful Christmas Eve mass at the same church Jason grew up going to and where we got married. After church, the family goes out to our favorite Italian restaurant for a traditional Christmas Eve dinner and then back to Jason's sister's house to open presents and get ready for Santa to come. We always end the evening thanking God for our many blessings he has so graciously given us.
Our favorite tradition with Amanda's family is our annual summer trip to the Outer Banks in North Carolina. It's a beautiful island off the coast of NC with the most amazing sunsets! Amanda's family rents a large home by the beach. Each day is filled with fun activities like sandcastle making contests, volleyball tournaments, and trips to see the wild horses on the beach. Evenings are filled with ghost crabbing on the beach, trips to the boardwalk to get the most amazing ice cream, and of course, watching the sunset. The week is an absolute blast and always met with a lot of laughs and many new memories!
From Us to You
Heroes have a distinctive set of traits; they are smart, strong, selfless, and have the courage that few possess. Most importantly, they go above and beyond to do what's best for those they love. A hero looks a lot like you.
We want to begin by expressing our admiration for the strength and selflessness it takes to consider adoption for your child. Thank you for taking the time to get to know our family.
After reading this letter, our greatest hope is that you get a glimpse into what life would look like for your child and how incredibly loved and nurtured they would be. They would be welcomed into a family with ten fun cousins to play with, aunts and uncles, and two sets of loving grandparents who would dote on them as only grandparents' know-how. Your child would grow up with two amazing, kind-hearted siblings who are bursting with excitement to welcome another child into our family.
Your child would be joining a family built on a strong foundation and raised by a loving couple who has been happily married for over 12 years. Jason just completed his MBA and is the Vice President of a Biotech company and actively working towards developing a treatment to help patients with kidney cancer. Amanda was a stay-at-home mom for seven years and went back to work in marketing for a consulting firm just two years ago.
Our son, Brayden is 9 years old. He's a natural athlete and loves playing hockey, soccer, lacrosse, and flag football. He's in 3rd grade, loves school and his teachers. He has a very sweet relationship with his sister and thrives in that big brother role.
Our daughter, Milana, will be 5 in July and is one of the happiest kids we know. She is active, always smiling, very kind-hearted, and loves playing with her brother and friends. Milana is very thoughtful and always wants to help out, whether it is helping mom cook, helping dad put a toy together, or helping feed the dog. She loves to dance, takes ice skating and gymnastics lessons, and even played on her first soccer team last fall. We've honestly never met a more genuine, caring child with a bigger heart.
We are experienced young parents who know first hand the unconditional love, understanding, patience, selflessness, and hard work that goes into raising a child and the overwhelming joy they bring to our lives. We are ready to open our arms and welcome your child into their forever family if given the opportunity.
Our promise to you: Your child will always know you are part of their story and loved by you. They will understand the collective courage you had to make this decision and that it was in their best interest. We are happy to send you letters and pictures of your child, so you can be a part of their growth and the different milestones they hit along the way. You will always be loved, and we will make sure our gratitude for your brave decision is evident in our home.
We pray that you find peace and solace with your decision, one we know will not be easy. Should your heart steer you in our direction, may you have peace knowing your child will live a life full of laughter, happiness, and love.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
