Kevin & Meghann
We are so humbled and appreciative that you would take the time to consider us to potentially raise your child and welcome them into our family. We view adoption as such a beautiful gift and it is a gift we will love and cherish unconditionally. We couldn't be more excited at the prospect of becoming parents and we look forward to this next adventure in our lives!
Our Lifestyle

We both work in the healthcare field, Meghann as a physical therapist and Pilates instructor and Kevin as a sports medicine physical therapist. We are committed to our health and fitness and we exercise most days during the week, sometimes together and sometimes individually. We love to take our dogs for walks in the neighborhood, and longer walks on the weekends. California has so many great hiking options - we love exploring the Redwoods or following trails to the beach.
We are both homebodies and love to cook a great meal together and cozy up to catch up on our favorite shows or new movies. The downtime is a nice change from our busy days at work. Once and a while we might have a friendly Nintendo Switch competition - winner gets to pick the next show! We look forward to date nights again once things start getting back to normal. Sushi and a movie has been our go-to since our first date.
Meghann has loved Broadway musicals her entire life and Kevin has been sharing in her love since they've been together. Kevin has, in turn, been teaching Meghann about classic rock artists. Our road trip soundtracks might include music from Hamilton and Wicked or the Beatles and Weezer.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other

Kevin About Meghann: What I love most about Meghann is that she has brought the absolute best out of me from the first day I met her. She is the most caring, kindhearted human being that I have ever had the privilege of knowing. From the first day I met her, I knew that Meghann and I were going to have special moments together. What I respect most about my wife is her unwavering ability to show love and compassion even under the most stressful circumstances. I could not admire her more for the brightness, sincerity, and charisma she brings to our relationship! She has all of the qualities a child could ever want or need in their life!
Meghann About Kevin: I love most that Kevin is a genuinely kind guy. He can strike a conversation with anyone he meets and shows consideration and respect to everyone. I believe these are all great qualities to exemplify for a child. I've been so proud of the way Kevin has taken on grad school - he's shown such determination and discipline and I'm so excited to see him achieve his goal of becoming a physical therapist in the near future. I'm so eager to see Kevin take on the father role and to teach our child all about soccer, weight lifting, and Marvel comics, among other things.
Cultural Diversity
Kevin is Caucasian and Meghann is Chinese American. As a mixed-race couple, we have enjoyed experiencing each other's heritage and traditions. One of the first family gatherings Kevin attended with Meghann's family was Chinese New Years – he was put to work immediately helping to prepare Gok Doi (or sweet wontons). Each year, we go with Meghann's family to the cemeteries as part of the "Tomb-Sweeping Festival," to honor her ancestors and pay our respects. Meghann has enjoyed being a part of teaching her nieces and nephews about the traditions, just like her mom and aunts and uncles taught her.
Through the recent awakening of racial equity and social justice, we have spent time listening, reading, and learning. We've spent time talking with each other and our families about recognizing our own white privileges, what it means to be white-passing, and sharing our experiences with racism or discrimination. Along with our families, we understand that representation matters and we all share in our commitment to continue this narrative. We are eager to learn about our child's culture, to teach them about our cultures, and to even create our own traditions based on a blend of everything!

Our House and Neighborhood

We live in a smaller suburb in Northern California, of about 35,000 people. We live in a 2-story house with 3 bedrooms and a fenced backyard. We have been working on our vegetable garden and we love to have fresh tomatoes and squash for dinner. Our favorite room in the house is the family room with our long couch and family photos all over the walls. We love to hang out playing board games or catching up on our favorite television shows.
Our neighborhood is a mix of older and younger families. We have definitely noticed a wave of new families with young kids moving into the neighborhood. We are connected to several different neighborhoods through paths and will often go walking through the neighborhoods with our dogs. We can also take the trails to our downtown area to go to the Farmer's Market or to grab dinner. There are lots of parks within walking distance from our home that have basketball courts, baseball diamonds, and bocce ball courts. There is a neighborhood swim club as well as local community pools. Our community offers lots of youth recreational sports, including baseball, soccer, dance, and swimming.
Our Extended Families

Kevin has an older sister and an older half-sister. His parents live within one hour of us. We often see his parents and cook dinners together. Kevin and his dad share a love of weight lifting and will usually catch each other up on their current stats. Kevin has started Meghann on a weight lifting routine and is looking forward to sharing his passion for weight lifting with his future child - boy or girl. Kevin's parents have five granddaughters who they love spending time with and can't wait to add another grandchild to the family.

Meghann has a younger sister and brother, both who live within thirty minutes of us. Meghann's siblings both have daughters and we have loved building a special bond with them as Uncle Kevin and Meghann Yee Yee. We are all excited for the cousins to grow up together. Meghann and her siblings have always been close. We enjoy family time with cooking competitions or Mario Kart tournaments. Meghann's mom has lived with us since her dad passed away. She loves everything creative from baking to gardening, and especially knitting for her new granddaughters and any future grandchildren. Meghann and her mom also spend a lot of time with Meghann's grandmother, cooking together or helping her exercise.
From Us to You

Hello!
We have sat down to write and re-write this letter maybe fifty times knowing maybe you have read fifty letters by now. We are Kevin and Meghann and we cannot express how humbled we are that you would take the time to learn more about us and consider us as a part of your adoption plan. Should you ultimately choose adoption and us as your child's parents, we want you to know that we plan to honor your courageous and selfless decision by making sure your child knows their adoption story. You will always be considered a member of our extended family and your child will grow up knowing the important role you played in us becoming a family. We look forward to sharing updates in whichever way you prefer - letters, photos, emails, or phone calls. We are also open to arranging a visit if and when it feels right for you.
We have been together since 2013 and married since 2017. We share many interests and feel so fortunate to have created a beautiful partnership together, full of love, humor, respect, and support. Adoption was something we've talked about since before we got married. Through our struggles with infertility, we've learned pregnancy and a biological child are not in the cards for us. We might not be able to experience pregnancy, but we know we are meant to experience parenthood. We both work in the physical therapy field and share a love of science and research. Meghann is the more creative one and the one who is calm in a crisis. Kevin is the more outgoing one who is great at finding the positives in any situation. Together, we hope to give your child a home full of happiness and imagination. We can't promise to give your child the perfect life because life is always going to be full of highs and lows. We can promise to give your child nothing but unconditional love and support as well as opportunities to thrive.
We are so lucky to be surrounded by an amazing family and support system who are overjoyed about our journey to build our family. We are very close with Meghann's siblings and their spouses. Along with her mom, we have regular family dinners and take family vacations together. Both of her siblings are expecting their first children and we couldn't be more excited to be aunts and uncles but also to watch the cousins grow up together. Meghann grew up with her closest cousins and she has many memories of Halloweens spent together or family vacations to Disneyland. She was so fortunate to have that, and we can't wait to give that to a child of our own. All of our parents are itching to love and spoil a grandchild and they share in our sentiments of gratefulness to you for considering us.
We are a mixed-race family, Meghann being half Chinese and Kevin being Irish. We celebrate a lot of the lunar festivals, including Chinese New Year and we go to the cemetery every year to perform traditional ceremonies and pay our respects. We love these traditions and look forward to teaching your child about these rituals, but also to learn about your child's culture and the traditions that go along with that. We will all be learning together, and we look forward to incorporating these new celebrations into our family ?" or maybe even creating our own traditions that celebrate all of our beautiful heritages! We strive to be a family that practices inclusion and equality and supports social justice. We feel it is vital to pass this on to the next generation to create a reality where everyone feels respected and welcome.
We are thrilled to be embarking on this next adventure in our life and are so honored you have taken the time to read this letter. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We wish you a healthy pregnancy and safe delivery and we are sending you love and support as you make this most difficult decision.
Sincerely,
Kevin & Meghann
